Lael looks the man up and down, puzzled. "Do you mean that the attack on this village might be different from the others? How so?" she asks.

Darian pulls the map out of a pocket on the inside of his coat and hands it to the man. "Here it is. The "x"s have already been attacked. We're guessing the circled villages will be attacked some time in the future."

The black haired Okalwa pushes back his hair, showing his elvish ears, as he opens up the map. He goes back to his chair and takes a look at the map.
He points to a few villages as he mutters, "Mystic.... Mystic... Mystic...."
After a bit, he rolls up the map and stands up, straightening to full height, "So, now it's our turn. I wondered how long it would be until they came to our village, especially thanks to that decree a bit ago...."
((OOC: Mr.Ownage, you know what I'm referring to, right? I will post more of the plot/story later but will end here to make your characters question it.))

Lael looks even more confused. "What are you talking about?" she asks. "Mystics? Decree?" She turns to Kitara. "What is going on?"
((I don't know about Mr.O, but I'm lost. Lael's confusion is very much my own. sweatdrop ))

((Ooc: You should be lost on this issue, Star, because we (Mr.Ownage and I) talked about this a while ago as we were trying to figure out about the whole storyline thing. ...it was in a PM that I sent him, so yeh.

"There are Mystics here?" Darian asks. "I knew you were part Mystic, Lord Okalwa, but I did not know there were others. However, the attack on Reni baffles me. I don't think there were any Mystics there."

Still looking puzzled Lael says, "I've read a bit about Mystics. But I've never met any. There were none in Tearn. At least none that I know of. But what do Mystics have to do with anything?"

"Kitara, would you care to clear things up for a certain confused human?" Darian asks with a laugh. He is pretending to give Lael a hard time about being human but really he has nothing against humans.

Lord Okalwa turns to Darian and says gravely, "This is no laughing matter, Darian Moonleaf, and you know it. It's become something terrifying for all Mystics and many have run away or been killed for it."
Kitara sighs and, moving hair out of her face, says, "Lael, Mystics are not liked by many beings because of their genetics. They live longer than humans, live shorter than elves, some have eyes as sharp as those of a hawk, some can run as fast as a cheetah, and almost all are psychic - they can hear thoughts that others think without even trying.
"Anyways, about two months ago, a month before the attacks starting to begin, the elvish king issued a decree that all Mystics in his realm were to be executed. Surrounding kingdoms have agreed to this decree, making one of their own in their own kingdoms. That's why many Mystics have left Reni and the other towns. However, Lord Okalwa thinks that many of the attacks are due to the decrees against Mystics. We do not have any proof of the base of these attacks, though. All we know is that the attacks are many and there is one headed this way - one we must fight against and protect the village against."

"But... Why?" Lael asks. "Why would he want to kill Mystics. They're not dangerous, are they? I mean, they probably could be if they wanted to, but they don't so that's okay. And... And there were no Mystics in Tearn, so that doesn't explain the attack on my village. Why would they attack a village to kill Mystics when there are no mystics there? It doesn't make sence."

"Unless," Darian explains. "They were in hiding. Most Mystics look exactly like humans, and therefore can easily hide in human villages for short periods of time. However, certain characteristics of Mystics, their longevity for example, make it dangerous for them to stay for too long."
(OOC biggrin arian still needs to meet Lord Okalwa's daughters. Remember, we agreed that one of them would play an important role in Darian's final decision.)

Kitara almost says something before a redheaded lady comes out of the house.
"Father, supper's on the...."
She stops mid-sentence as she notices the three travellers and the bluejay nearby. She blinks her green eyes before turning to her father.
The black haired Mystic smiles before saying, "Darian, Kitara, Jay, and .....ma'am, I'd like you all to meet my oldest daughter, Arelen."
The redhead steps forward and says politely, stretching a hand out to them, "How do you do? It's an honor to meet you."
((OOC: I know, Mr.Ownage. I was thinking that they can hold off the attack for a few months/years as he meets them. ....and in enters Arelen. Margem will be a background character, but she'll appear a few times...))

Darian reaches his hand out to take her's first. Her beauty is striking, or at least in his opinion. "The honor is mine, milady." He usually is not so formal but he is addressing royalty and a true beauty.
