The loss of her hearing earned an unpleasant jolt, but Nevena had no time to focus on that. She could see Aymet whipping around the corner, and a low, aggressive hiss spilled from her. The Voice again. Nevena actually spat when it thought to seduce her with its lies. By feeding off their souls until their bodies waste away!
She wouldn't just eat its heart, she decided. First, she'd beat it until the meat was nice and tender. Then, she'd throw it down all these stairs.

Twice that she...knew of. Giving up her hearing was nothing compared to that. And there was the fact that she needed to climb. So she did. Stairs. They went two ways. Up, and down. So far, Sherry was having no trouble moving up. But she was wondering just how many stairs there were going to be. Staaaaairs. She ran up as fast as she could, taking them two at a time when she could. By now she was well behind Aymet and the others, and that just wouldn't do.
Luckily she didn't get tired easy. Her player, in the other hand, would have given up a long time ago.
