Evan had been worse off than he'd thought; it took him so long to get healed enough to stay standing that he hadn't had time to pledge himself to this new kingdom. It didn't matter, though. He would fight with them, even if it wouldn't be for them.

Time to go. There went Shun, and Gene, and everyone else was headed out. She had to hurry, the last thing she wanted was Shun killing off more than her, and bragging about it.
Despite some of the others acting oddly, everyone was now on their way to battle. Mot drew in a long breath as he prepared for the chaos to come.

He wasn't surprised when Rosy pulled her act she had always been this way and so had he, it was likely reason they were simply friends. With her silent goodbye and not a glance spared in return he looked towards the others leaving. Heading with the herd he tried to gather some focus for the coming battle. "To battle." He mocked laughing bitterly under his breath.
Watching his King go, Etzer reached up and took a deep breath in as his fingers clasped over his pocket once more.
He turned and followed.

Atta- I mean-... good. Her hand slipped away from his head, returning to it's place at her side heavily. The plan was to wait; Levi was ready to bite down and begin walking back out towards the open garden with the fireworks maker when something drastic took a hold of her.
The world wasn't going to stay stable for much long. Flickering into view for just a moment, Levi saw the world they were in begin to crumble. If they were going to get everyone out of this place, it needed to be done now.
The plan took the back seat.
Like the ends of daggers, Levi's eyes stared straight into Westus', completely serious but with an empty numbness. Go'on ahead. M'right behind ya.
Her tail retracted... but didn't return behind her. It lingered between her and the boil in mid air; it was waiting.

And suddenly he was free.
West was too relieved to notice her strangely accented speech, too ready to follow orders again after... whatever had just happened... to care that her eyes suddenly seemed cold and fierce.
"Yes," he said with a short laugh. "I think the others are already on their way." He turned his back to her. He took a step. "It will feel good to defend what's ours."

The tatzelwurm's tail shot out, coiling first around the man's waist to lock him in place, then slithered up to his neck, wrapping around till she felt vertebrae against her skin. Placing all her weight onto his back, she forced him down to the ground.
The Queen shut her eyes tight, hissing to herself for comfort. Everything she was went into trying to set this impostor down and set her mate's image free. He would not become some dangling corpse out on the battle field by someone else's hand if she could take his life herself. He belonged to her and no one else.

Levi's lashes webbed together with the moisture coming from her eyelids. Had she opened her eyes during this pinning attack, a large glowing figure would appear over her. It had ears and two front paws, but lacked any legs. Instead, the ferocious cat-like creature had an extremely long tail that worked its way around Westus' body just as Levi's did. This beast was an illusion; a part of the Red Kingdom's special trait pertaining to the people who could produce dream-like illusions. This was the form Levi usually took in Halloween without her skull pin; it was a fully grown tatzelwurm.
The glowing image of her natural form had it's tail cocoon around the figure face-down to the ground. Levi waited and felt. She was waiting till she could feel his pulse no more.

West carried out her command, but not because he wished to. If he could have, he would have shouted for help. He would have cursed his queen and her living boa and her confusing kisses. The air in his lungs quickly went stale and he thrashed in panic, grabbing at whatever she was using to choke him and trying to rise to his knees at the same time. He failed at both.
If he could have only figured out what he had done wrong it might have made everything easier to bear, but all he could do was struggle, his cheek pressed against the soft carpet of grass beneath him, mouth gaping in a futile effort to inhale. A bright light flared in his periphery as his vision began to swim, but he couldn't turn to see what it was. To be honest he wasn't even sure he had seen anything in the first place.
Maybe he had been chosen after all. The Dragon had picked him as her sacrifice because he was too weak to volunteer. The fear he had felt at the prospect of dying was gone now, replaced by a muzzy happiness. West stopped struggling and smiled, closing his eyes and lying still.
She was just carrying out the king's orders.
"Levi," he mouthed. "It hurts."

When Levi felt the warm glow, she opened her eyes to make sure nothing was interrupting her task. It was a mistake to do so. She only saw it for a moment but that was all it took. The image had been burnt into the back of her eyes to be kept in her visual memory for what she was certain would be forever. Levi shut her eyes tight again, huddling over the body like she was hugging it completely.
It wasn't the same as rendering him unconscious when they fought. Strangling him to the point of sleeping wasn't nearly as traumatic as looking unto the face of the one you loved most till they perished under your hand. Levi loved West; it was agonizing to see him like this. Quickly!!!
His faint muffled voice made her groan through clenched teeth. The glowing tatzelwurm form faded, and Levi almost felt too weak to go through with it. No! That wouldn't do. Levi had to hold onto the facts: this world was dying with him in it. This was a release. the real West was back in Halloween while she was here trying to save their existence. Another groan, squeaking near the end, escaped from her chest and Levi's whole body went rigid in preparation.
The part of Levi's tail around his neck provided the strongest constriction she could bring forth. Something she could claim was worthy of a move against the boil she knew.
West. Wait fer'me.
As the tail gripped, there was a bone-chilling audible crack. That was when Levi's heart went to stone.

His eyes remained closed, and the moment his life left him, West's body began to crack and crumble until it was little more than a handful of deep red soot. Not long after, that too was gone.

Than wasn't entirely sure of all the reasons why, but the displays of emotion, of loyalty, watching each member of the King's court depart for the battlefield...it caused tears to form, welling up and causing violet eyes to shimmer. These people had accepted him into their Kingdom, had picked him up when he'd literally fallen into their laps. They were possessed of a King that was good, and gracious and kind...precisely the sort of person that ensnared Than's loyalty in a heartbeat, drawing him close and gifting him with unquenchable devotion to any cause that individual might set before him.
It was an innocent sort of fidelity.
No longer a child of the fallen Silver Kingdom, the pup had embraced their color, reborn as yet one more of the Red Court's devoted throng. Though even he could feel the stirrings of unrest, the sense of wrongness that hung in the air. Then again, nothing at all was right any longer.
"Than will go. And follow thee to battle..." The words were churred softly as he watched the King depart, her elegance never once leaving her as she addressed her people. She loved them, and cared immensely for their welfare. "Forever, Lady-King~" A merry trill, as he then followed the Red court to battle, spirits stubbornly high as the youth bore an adamant optimism.
If he'd had a tail, it would have been wagging behind him.
The tatzel could have screamed when the body turned to nothingness. This hadn't been dissipation; it was a nothingness. She really wanted to scream at the grass imprint being the only thing left after what she'd just done-
but Levi couldn't scream. In fact, the ghoul couldn't even frown. She stood, existing still in this strange world, and began to move towards the gates of the palace.
Her priorities were still set down before her like a checklist; first off the list being struck out.
She would enter the battlefield full of fakes and a few peers from the real world. Levi would enter and look for the one that got away from her as she did her work. Xiu would have to wait; the Dragon would take more time.
Next on her list: Rex

Wait... what just happened? Gilly wiped her eyes and yawned. It seemed liked she had fallen asleep for a little bit while waiting for the others to return from gathering the miasma. She got up just in time to see Levi leaving. Gilly quickly got up and followed, but far enough behind that she wasn't noticed. She was ashamed that she fell asleep.
