One second he had been plunging his dagger into the barrier, the next -
White. The immutable earth shaking with sudden fury. White.
Things snaked about his arms as he stumbled about, and with growls the executioner hacked at them with increased agitation until the white seemed to shift. And he stood with a strange expression as the crystal wound about him, watching what he thought was a person appear in the lack of color.
And then anger overtook him.OOC SHIKOBA IS NOT IN PVP! Total HP remaining: 20/40 Number of shards/ bandages used: 0/ 5 Status of character: Y1 6'4" Horseman of War

Dakota felt battered. No seriously, he was taking hits as a moon everywhere from this barrier. These Tihers wanted to get through them. He was one force to be reckoned with though, especially as the new assistant gave the cue to tighten up.
And then the earth shattered and broke into crystals. <******** ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?" Dakota felt the grab on his leg of the crystals gripping his ankle. "Oh ******** no." Chama flared down, clearing the crystals. She whispered something about revenge on his mind but he was panicking too much.OOC DAKOTA IS NOT IN PVP! And then the crystals were on him, seizing him up in their path. He couldn't move.
Even as they continued to creep over him, all he could think of was that maybe this was for the best, maybe it was better to go out like this. He wouldn't have to find out what had happened to Ace and Jordan, he wouldn't need to deal with anything. It would be easy.
And maybe it was easy.
He didn't let go of the weapon tablet in his arms.
He didn't know.
<< I'm gonna miss you >>
As the crystals crept higher and higher, it was too late, much too late to change anything at all.
He exhaled resignedly and simply let them.

After a few moments of struggle, she tried to keep her attention on her legs, the crystallization starting seep across her other leg, engulfing her golden-shaded shoes and snapping at her black toes, threatening to immobolize her. It didn't last though, as a vibrating feeling started to resonate behind her, making the Artisan turn around, before the crystal just about burst forward, dancing around Lifen like something in a dream.
It was horrifying, and at the same time, mesmerizing, the white facets dancing with her reflection for a moment before something . . different showed up. Something familiar that resonated deep within her - a warm, pulsing feeling.
She could hear it, the feeling of battle, the march of wars as if she were on the battleground, and a feeling she had before sliced through her reasoning, the angry, hot feeling fo revenge. She felt like following it, lost in the moment, eyes lidding softly as she lulled for a moment, before a shock of colour in front of her eyes made her nearly jump back, losing her balance for a moment.
Red. As bright as a rare flower, the colour that returned her to her senses before. What had she been considering? The voices still remained though, ebbing in her mind with a sick familiarity that made her grasp her head and grit her teeth, begging her to join their fight. Get mad. You deserve more. You want to hunt them down.
She could not move, to get away from them, and in a desperate move, she took a deep breath in and screamed as loud as her tired lungs allowed her, leaning down in to herself. She did not cry, but she felt on the dge of it as her voice broke and crackled out with the softest of whimpers. They were gone, retracted in her mind, beaten by her willpower, but they had made her so tired.Lifen Stats LIFEN HUA Damage being done: THAT'S A NEGATIVE SIR. Chaos had erupted around her, and she could only watch helplessly as people started turning into crystal states all around her; it didn't matter what they were - human or halloween creature. Whatever or whoever was causing this obviously did not care which side they were on... They were on their own side, acting according to their own agenda.
Looking around, she weaved through the crystals around her, trying her best to avoid touching one; she might had came here by choice, by her own free will, but it was to save the people she cared about... Not that she did much. She wasn't there to free anyone. She wasn't there to give anyone a hug. She wasn't there to break them out of wherever they were contained. In the end, she was useless - she might as well have stayed home.
Then she wouldn't be running for her life right now.
As she darted past someone, she heard a sharp crack from above; a piece of crystal growing on a branch overhead had broken off, heading straight for her. It hit her on her shoulder, and she yelped in pain, clutching it as tears spring to her eyes - they weren't from the pain though. Not her physical pain, at least...
It was from the emotional pain of not being able to do anything.OOC MY CHARACTER NAME HERE IS NOT IN PVP!Damage being done: n/a Points remaining: 22/30 Total HP remaining: 34/50 Total HP of ZONE remaining: Number of shards/ bandages used: 0/3 Status of character: Y3 Demoness Lizzy; this minus the spider legs

So tired.
She had spent the last few moments doubled over a little, the crystalization now at her lower back, keeping her to where she stood, reminding her of her slow fate. She had been fighting the sickness that crawled up and down her back as she listened to the rage and hurt around her, knowing that she too would be engulfed, finally.
I am so tired.
The hurtful part was she seemed to be doing this alone. Yes, there were others around her sharing her fate that she knew, in passing, but she had watched her pillars of strength take off for other areas. A small flower of worry unfurled in her chest, wondering how they were, were they somewhere, as trapped as she was? Were they hurting? What would happen. Everything seemed to berate her at once, the fear of what happened to them rising up her throat and threatening to choke her.
Forcing herself to take deep breaths, she tried to dispel the thoughts, she promised she would not cry, ever again. This would not be one of those days where she would break her promise to herself.
In a split second, a thought cut through the black, a memory of a long time ago, when her father was still alive, still singing his songs he heard when he was out and about, learning about the outside world she could only imagine. A song. He had sung her a song when she was little, about life being what it would be.
It seemed . . . warming. Remembering his voice - she had thought she had forgotten it when the Isle had fallen - but in this time of crisis, it was comforting to hear that voice again, even if it was just a memory in her mind. It helped her make up her mind. Cleared her thoughts.
She would not go like this, panicing and mentally distraught. She would leave a lasting impression, like she always had. Taking a deep breath, it took all of her will power to stand up straight again, feelng the crystalization creep up her spine, trapping her in this moment. She moved her heavy hands and folded them on top of each other. With her last bit of energy, she let out a long sigh towards the sky, allowing her shoulders to sag comfortably.
Lifen went humming, her eyes closed, a sense of content gracing her face softly even after the crystallization had stolen her voice.
Whatever will be, will be. The future's not ours, to see.

Tori could feel the crystals growing upward to finish covering the rest of her body since she could no longer move to hit them off with her weapon. Watching closely as the crystals slowly covered her weapon as Aklin didn't deserve this at all. So much sorrow, so much sadness filled her heart as Tori realized that she was going to die and she didn't want to die at least not yet. Tori had wanted to get more out of her shell to be less of a puppet that her parents had made her to be, to open up the part of her that was locked and hidden. To be something that one day that she could be proud of herself that she was no longer the puppet that she had been made to be. To be useful in her own way and not to be called cattle or to be disposable. Oh dam, Tori thought as she didn't even get to read all the books that she had been denied in her old life. But now that was gone and lost forever now.
Regret also started to creep into Tori's thoughts. She was so sorry Ceri that she failed to listen to you Ceri and that it was her fault that you died that night so long ago. That was not a fate she wanted on you Ceri since Tori want to know more about you and to watch her grow. Tori wanted you to be mother that she never had that loved her dearly something that she so desperately wanted and to be proud of her as well. Now that was lost and gone forever. Even now Tori never forgiven herself for what had happened on that day with hands stained red for your death Ceri. Tori also regretted not being able to help Julie to her final resting place after becoming a puppet. Tori was very sorry to the both of you for failing when she shouldn't have.
Aklin called softly.
The lifer didn't listen to the weapon as since she was lost in her own thoughts reliving the memories that she had pushed away and locked down to be forgotten. Tori didn't even get to try and show her friends the side of herself that she had locked away deep within since she was also scared to do so. Since after Ceri's death that side of her had always been used against her by her parents and so she locked it away to never be hurt that way again to become what her parents had always wanted. But once a puppet always a puppet Tori kept on thinking over and over. The puppet set up on a shelf alone and forgotten only used when needed and useless for the rest of the time.
Aklin spoke loudly but in a kind tone. Not getting any response from his Hunter and gave her a mental smack to her brain. he repeated.
With that smack and the repeated that she wasn't alone that brought Tori back somewhat out of her sorrow. Lin I'm so sorry.
For dying and being a bad partner to you. I didn't want this to happen to you to be trapped unable to choose another partner. Tori answered as she started to cry as she thought that she was always going to be alone.
Aklin stated very sternly with a hit of a growl to it. He stated with a soft purr.
I'm scared Lin, this isn't how I wanted it to end. I wanted to do more to learn more about myself to be free from being a puppet. The lifer answered to her weapon still crying still in sorrow and regret.
I thank you Lin, but I still feel sorry.
I also feel like I failed everything. Since I don't even have anything to show for it now. Tori replied as she did have to wonder where and how her friends must be feeling right now.
There had been one thing that Tori did so want to tell Aklin, but words were escaping her as it was so very hard to try and say them even to her partner as she cried harder as she couldn't get out what she wanted so desperately to say as that had been one regret she didn't want to have before dying.
Those were the last words that Tori heard as the crystal fully engulfed her body and weapon. A forever crying crystal statue.

It was fascinating, really, how easy and yet mentally straining maintaining the shield was. In its own way it was amazing to finally see what the moon hunters as a whole could so together. Charlotte was the one guiding them all, even the elder hunters seemed to know what was going on. Maybe they had done it before? She hoped at least she was holding up her end of the shield. So far so good, she even caught a few familiar faces in the distance. Dakota was pretty close by, Ryan too, so it was good to see she wasn't the only semi-rookie at this. ALl was going great... the shield was holding up to the assault it was receiving, a dent or a crack here and there forming up from the relentless blows. It was holding still. That was when the feeling came. Crystals started to pour out of the ground before them. The shield faltered as them came, and all but disintegrated as the structured flowed out of the ground at their very feet. Whats going on! The rumbling voice of keru was within her mind as she pulled his sword out of the earth. The barrier was chattered, he need not be in the ground any longer. Backing away she looked up and noticed that the crystals were even forming on the trees, turning them into glass-like shapes. OOC Ceres IS NOT IN PVP! It was all happening so fast, too fast. Crystalline forms were flowing out of the earth, and even starting to take over bodies of the fallen. I...i cant leave them!
SHe could feel his panic within, it was something that she had yet to feel from the old quilin. It was a foreboding feeling, feeled with dread and anguish. Keru it is too late to run. Even she could tell that, if he did not want to say it. It was too late for any of them. A shard from above broke, racing down at her with incredible speed. Not only was the object heavy... but it was sharp as well. It speared through her scarf, nailing her leg on the way down. With a scream she was pulled backwards, hitting the ground with a loud cry of pain. Seeping out of her leg a crimson stain spread on the earth around her, a rather large rush of it. It made her catch her breath, reach out... only to stop mid motion and stare. The blood was also becoming incased in crystal. It was crawling up the trail, and soon disappeared inside the scrape. Where the leg wound was, the crystal started to form and spread rapidly. OOC Ceres IS NOT IN PVP! She pushed herself away from a tree, watching as many others were suddenly enveloped in crystal without even a chance of escaping. So many were already taken, and others were fighting them off, but it was no use, really. She could see that there was no hope of escape. Instincts kicked in, her wings spread as she beat them downwards and lifted herself up off the ground. Maybe if she rose high enough, she could leave this all behind. Surely she could survive this. She had already survived so much worse. But even as her feet left the ground, she felt it. That sharp stabbing pain almost like a blade biting through her flesh. Her head tilted to look down to her stomach, where a crystal had whizzed by and sliced through her flesh, the blood that oozed forth crystallizing itself, as though they were sprouting straight from her wound. Her teeth gritted, with a small shake of her head she let herself back down to the ground, wings snapping shut behind her. It was too late for her now. OOC SHAHEEN IS NOT IN PVP! She couldn't stop looking at the crystals that grew out of the cut in her stomach, her face grim and set in a straight line. It was almost entrancing, really, and it was only the shout of somebody nearby that finally drug her attention away, and had her looking at the others who were around, who were still fighting. So many had already been crystallized. Several had been instantaneous. She could feel the pull on her fear as it was slowly dredged from her body, inch by dying inch. She assumed those who were the first to go were likely the weak ones, the ones who's fear had already been low so they had little for the crystals to take. She shifted her gaze towards those that she knew. Lifen, the woman from conquest that she had only so recently met. She appeared so frail, but was so strong. Shaheen would have really liked to have gotten a chance to get to know her better. And then there was Shik. Proud and strong. Her favorite person to hate. She had known him since childhood, and there weren't many left if any at all that she could say that about. Something inside of her clenched up at the thought that she might never see him again, once this was over. She had a sudden and inexplicable realization, but it was one that brought with it sense of bitterness. She would miss him. Would he miss her too? Probably not. He hated her, and she was one hundred percent sure of that fact. Their relationship had always been combustible at the best of times and out right explosive and bloody at the worst. If she had a chance to say goodbye, she might have, but even this close to the end she would not show that kind of weakness. And now the crystals were growing up out of the ground around her, twisting upwards, and she watched them instead. It was easier, then focusing on those that she cared about getting torn away from her again. Easier this way if she didn't watch what happened to them and instead paid more attention to what was about to happen to herself. The flashes of white came faster, brighter, almost blindingly so. But there was a figure there, just beyond sight. She could see it's outline, and she wondered if this was the one to take her home, to lead her to revenge, or to guide her into the afterlife. The sounds of battle were hard to ignore, and as anger suddenly surged through her, her lip pulled back from her teeth in a smirk that what forever be immortalized as the crystals consumed her.
