"Oh would I now?" Rose asked looking at him as if he just gave her a challenge. She smiled then looked away with a slight blush on her face that she tried to hide with her long hair.

"Yes, I truly think so." Damian smiled as he looked out to the waterfall and then to Rose. "Why do you hide it? Oh and why don't you want to go to your home forest?"

"I hide it because then I don't have to deal with trying to speak my mind about why I am blushing." Rose sighed and a tear escaped her eyes," Because there is no home, it was burned to the ground and everyone there was taken for slaves. My father somehow managed to get away from the humans so we could get away from the fate to come." Rose looked away from Damian so he couldn't see her crying. "My father and I ran for 5 years before they caught him one night. I hid in the tree behind him as they beat him till he begged for mercy. Once he begged they killed him." Rose pulled her arms tight against her body as if she were hugging herself.

Damian felt a bit of age building in him as he looked to the moon. So that's why she didn't want to go, he thought. "Rose, I said i'd protect you and i will." He moved closer to her and hugged rose close.

Rose froze as he hugged her and she stood there sobbing in his arms not knowing what to do.

"It's okay, I'm here." He held the elf as she sobbed. He wasn't sure what to do, he just acted on instinct.

Rose blushed and thought, Of course I don't want to go back because I like just being around you. "I think I'll be ok just as long as I don''t have to repeat that story." She said as she looked at the woods around them.

"Good because I don't like seeing you hurt. Nor do I want to get fueled up and want to hunt down those hunters either. Not right now anyways." Damian laughs slightly as he moves closer to the elf.

Rose blushed and noticed he was getting closer to her and she smiled shyly then looked up at the sky that was now a bright pink mixed with blues and greens.

Damian looks to the sky and then smirks. "I will tell you one thing, that never gets old. The sky I mean. How many have you seen?"
