Lin held her side and started to hobble alongside Ushi. With each step she winced. Gradually, the Morphine kicked in and she could walk easier. “Sorry Ushi, I know, I’m an idiot. I must be making you miserable. I can walk a little bit, but I still need help.” Just then, a limo pulled up bearing a flag the had the emblem of Ushi Medical Corporation on it. Lin scowled at the limo as a giant of a man exited the vehicle after the chauffeur opened the door. He was followed by Stern looking woman. “Lin, Ushi, Get in the car now.” the man spoke in a powerful voice. Lin stood up straight. “Jin, Chun, I will not.” The man glared at her. “We are your parents and you will not disrespect us by refusing to address us with respect young lady!” Lin glared back. “I disrespect those who deserve it. You two have never given me a reason to respect you.”
“We are your parents. We are entitled to your respect and deserve it regardless of your views.”
“Respect is earned Jin, not freely given.”
“In the car now! We are sending you to military school to cure you of your rebelliousness. Then you will go to a rehabilitation center to cure your inappropriate enthrallment with girls.”
Lin seemed to fume at the words, all pain seemingly dissipated. “I will not! There is nothing wrong with me! You openly admit to me being a mistake, never once showed any affection to me, always treat me like dirt, and otherwise try to forget that I even exist! I have not even seen either of you since I was twelve! You only show up when I make you look bad! And you constantly treat my orientation as though it’s a plague! That is something I do not choose, I am attracted to both boys and girls and nothing you do can change that!”
Her father stepped forward and gripped her arm. She responded by kicking his shin.
“You ungrateful little...”
“There was never anything to be grateful for!”
“Get in now or-”
“Or else what? You’ll treat me like garbage? Ground me? Cut my allowance? I am used to the treatment, I’ll just run away again, and I am self sufficient now. You have nothing to threaten me with.”
“You are still a minor and must do as we say.”
“No, I don’t. You have driven me away. You have let me get injured, ill, neglected, you’ve even beat me! All I have to do is call Law Enforcement! You won’t be able to touch me! I am independant and doing well, doing good things for others. I can live on my own. I can live without you. Either of you. I had hoped that you’d get that you were horrible parents eventually and change. But you are too dense.”
“If you turn away now, you will be disowned!”
