ThePersonInFrontOfYou WOO! THE GAME IS OFFICIALLY OUT IN AMERICA TODAY! Now where's my copy, Gamestop?
Disclaimer: While this post is completely aware that European FE fans won't be seeing this game released until April and therefore even with the delay American FE fans don't have to wait nearly as long, this post also is aware that a release date is expected to live up to its name. People who have pre-ordered the game expect to have it in their hands on the promised date, therefore there is still reason to question. And of course we are all willing to wait for an awesome game despite any complaining. Therefore while this post acknowledges the need to empathize, this post also understands that release date shenanigans are generally annoying and we wish they didn't exist.Although it's out already, I have to wait till tomorrow to get it. Stupid Nintendo and its rule about making the game available in store.... ;____;

If the game hadn't bee scheduled for release so close to my birthday, I might have reserved a copy. Now I'm wondering if that was a mistake and I won't actually get it until much later. crying
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to be patient. Again.

As a friendly reminder, please be courteous to your fellow guild members regarding spoilers. People play at different speeds and Europe won't even be getting the game until later in the year. When I called my Gamestop today I got this response: "Since Nintendo didn't give an official release date (that's what my screen says) we don't know when we're suppose to get our shipment. We think maybe tomorrow but we don't know for sure since there aren't any dates listed." I almost wanted to call bullshit, but I really couldn't be certain. It just annoys me how hazy the situation is.
Oh well. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the call.

Nice try, Gamestop, the entire FE fanbase has known the release date was scheduled for February 4th for months now.
Granted, they don't control when they get their shipments in, but blaming Nintendo with a false reason makes them look really guilty and stupid.

To be honest Rath, I don't think Gamestop is blaming on Nintendo for shipment delay. I've seen websites stating about the shipping delay (like Amazon can't ship it till Feb 6th I believe) that some stores are releasing it (like Target and Walmart) while others are delay. Heck, Kmart website said that it doesn't exist. >__> So what I'm saying is that due to popular demand of the game (though I never expect FE: A to be really popular than its previous FE games), Nintendo didn't have as many shipment order to make. I even went to a different Gamestop in another town and the guy told me that they may not have extras if they have their shipment arrive.

It amazes me the things people tell me about their interactions with Gamestop, because I've never had a bad one. Am I just really lucky in that department? I went to mine this morning to inquire (it's walking distance) and the employee told me the shipment hadn't come in yet, he'd call me when it did, and that he was aware that today was the release date.
I'd blame the employee not being in the know before the chain.

I usually never have problems with it, but I guess since I'm dealing with a different location that could be it? Though when I walked in the guy who took my order seemed knowledgeable about the release. He even said he was going to pre-order the very next day. Maybe it's just the person I talked to on the phone who was giving the general "I don't know" answer. I don't think the sales associate would have lied to me when they were already going to get my money. More often than not I get guys who at least know more about the game than just what the computer says.

Hector is a spotpass unit, but unfortunately he is not DLC. Neither is Eliwood or Sigurd. I would have really liked to see all three of them in there as fully fledged DLC characters instead of just spotpass. Though of course I'll be trying to track down those three amongst some of my other favorite units that made it into the spotpass lineup. Shame you can only have 20 at a time, though.
As for the whole Gamestop issue, I've heard different things from different gamestops. I made calls to three different stores when reserving my copy and they all knew various different things. Of course the most knowledgable of the people there were the ones who were tracking the game's progress themselves, as one or two of them were doing. But yeah, it really does seem like not all of the stores are on the same page. I'd expect that due to the delay things are even more messed up anyway. Though what that means for folks like me who ordered the bundle mail order online, we'll see. Needless to say I am eager and want to play this game already! Though I wouldn't blame anyone in general. After all, this game exploded in popularity.

So looks like I'm not the only one here that had a pre-order problem with Gamestop...
The employee I spoke to at my gamestop said that the shipment will be in tomorrow unfortunately. Odd since I usually don't have issues with pre-orders with them.
-shrugs- Ah well, I suppose I'll just have to hope they'll have it in tomorrow. I wanna play the game already! emotion_dowant
