Ellale had started to relax as they walked, smiling as she felt the warm sun on her skin. This was nice, with so many people around all heading in generally the same direction. It wouldn't be that lonely, not with Tae here with her. She glanced over at Tae with a smile. She had momentarily forgot about her worries, but those would all come crashing back, with more force than she could realize, in seconds. It was just as she started to relax that she heard a voice in the distance shout something. Ellale, of course, couldn't understand what it was, but she was pretty sure she heard Winhill, behind them, having an emergency announcement. Tae turned to look at Ellale, Ellale blinking as she looked up at Tae.

'I love you.'
"Wha...?"

Ellale didn't get the chance to voice her question, as it was as she started to speak, to ask Tae why she said, that the missiles hit. Ellale let out a cry, blown away by the impact and feeling herself wretched from Tae. The last thing she saw of Tae was her seemingly disappearing into blinding light before Ellale's world literally went all around.

Fragments of memories

"ngh..." Ellale groaned, shifting faintly, and rolling onto her back. She was hurt, she knew she was hurt. She knew it was bad, and it hurt all over. She was pretty sure she'd broke her leg. Maybe several ribs. Definitely at least one. Those all kind of felt like background noise though. She couldn't remember ever impacting the ground. She wasn't even sure when she had. Now she was just... aware? Something?, staring up at the sky. Her senses were failing her though. Was the sky on fire? Why was it so dusty? Why did she feel so cold? Oddly, staring up at the sky caused her to wonder for a moment. A single question. Her eyes focused on the sky for a moment as she reached her hand up, shakily, slowly, and held it out to the sky.

"Sky... why are you turning so dark...?"

After a moment, that hand that had been stretched out to the sky, slowly fell, falling to the ground.

"KALAY!"
"Ow! What?!"

Kalay was looking down at a girl whom he hadn't seen in years, and she had grown up quite a lot in those few years. She was holding onto him tightly, embracing him near as hard as she could as she buried her face into his shirt. He couldn't say he was happy that she'd been so excited she'd just jumped and tackled him in the process of giving him the hug, which had resulted on them both being on the stone ground now, but she really didn't seem to care. "You left and didn't send a letter or anything!" Ellale pouted, finally pulling back and frowning at him. Kalay blinked, watching her for a moment before a faint smile played on his lips as he patted her head. Ellale looked away, clearly still pouting. She eventually got herself off of him though, patting down her uniform, Winhill Garden's Uniform. "While you were running around the country side like a bandit I was taking my entrance exam! And they let me in!" Even though she was trying to sound angry, the sound of pride in her voice was evident.

Kalay smiled again, getting up and putting his hand on his sisters head, as if she were still the child she was when he had left. "It's a miracle they let you in, but I suppose even a clueless-" before he could finish, Ellale had stepped back and swung in at him with her fist, hitting him in the arm, getting a laugh out of him as she scowled. "You're being mean!" Kalay chuckled as he shrugged, turning to go. Ellale frowned, watching him slowly walk away. For a moment, she blinked, uncertain of if this were a memory or not. He faded in the whiteness that had surrounded them. And for a moment, she hesitated. And then, she followed after him.

            It was a pretty nice day out considering the brooding male that walked the streets. He was still pretty upset that he didn’t get a chance to talk to his sibling about certain matters. What that male Salem had said was still itching at his skull. Why he couldn’t get them out of his head was beyond him.

            As he continued to walk though, he thought he heard a strange sound from up in the air. Though, as he looked up and around he couldn’t spot anything. Just a few clouds splattered across the sky and a few birds here and there. Nothing seemed out of the norm. Shrugging he continued on his way. It was rather boring otherwise. There really wasn’t anything to do around here these days. With a sigh he stopped along a road as he pondered his next move staring up at the clouds.

            It was then that a loud whistling sound cut through the air split moments before the loud explosions sounded in the distance. His eyes cut to the source to which turned his blood cold. It wasn’t just one explosion but several. The impact it had sent the nearby buildings windows shattering and him covering his face with his arm as he tried to keep himself on his feet.

            When it was all done and over he slowly lowered his arm to reveal what was left. “Oh. My. God.” Someone had said somewhere behind him. Who would say how long he’d stood there as people began to move forward. “Someone call for help!” Another voice cried. Help? How was that going to do anything? If people survived that they were probably wishing they were dead.

            Angel of Death

            His feet had moved on their own running towards the garden down a dirt path that was now covered in debris and dust or maybe it was ashes that filled the air. Would it be now that he would find his sister among the debris? Would she be dead? Or maybe there would be nothing left of her to find. That thought had his heart sinking before anger slowly turned his blood. He would make whoever took her life from him pay.

            Moans of the dying could be heard as he got closer. It was a sound that no one should have to listen to. Shadows could now be made from the particles that floated and swirled around him. Finally he slowed down to a walk so he could get a look at the people on the ground. Each person he passed he hoped both that they were and weren’t Tae. Some had clung to him as he paused long enough to check them to see if they were okay and if they were Tae. He gently pried them off saying that someone would be coming to help them.

            He didn’t have anything with him. No GF or potions that would ease their suffering. Tae…where are you? Are you here..? He didn’t want to have to be the one to tell mother and father. Damnit! He didn’t go through what he did all those years ago for her to end up this way! His hands bunched up in a tight fist as he continued to move from body to body. The closer to the front gates—or what had been the front gates the more bodies he found.

            He stopped as he stared at it all taking it in. What the hell happened here? It didn’t make sense. About fifty feet, maybe more from where the front gates originally stood he spotted another body that looked pretty bad. There had been people that had followed him who had some medics and first aid kits as he could hear their voices just a short ways away shouting for things and people moving to aid them. As he was about to pass on by them something caught his eye. Was that green hair? Moving closer he had recognized her. It had been that girl Tae had seemed fond of and she was at the ball as well. What was her name? Ellie? Ella? Ellale? Dropping down to his knees he brushed the hair from her face before he checked for a pulse.

            God, she was a mess. A broken leg for sure as the bone was sticking out of the leg. He tried his best not to look at it. There was a faint pulse so she was still alive. “Hey... can you hear me? Was Tae here? Is she here somewhere?” He had to ask, had to know. Coughing from breathing in all of the particles and ashes Hiro pulled up his shirt to use as masks of sorts. Hiro glanced around the girl hopeful in seeing Tae maybe laying nearby but from everything to debris to ashes and particles still coating the air it was hard to see anything in this mess. You better not die on me. That is my job. Only I am allowed to end your suffering. He would find a way to bring her back if that was the case and kill her himself.

            “Damnit!” he punched the ground causing someone to his right to shuffle. Glancing up he spotted someone with a medic bag who looked frightened. He wasn’t sure if it was everything around them or if he had scared them. “She needs help. Now!” That prompted the guy to move down and start taking things out of the bag as quickly make work of the girl beside him.

            Now that she was being tended to he wanted to keep looking for his sister. Though, he was torn to stay with Ellale to make sure she made it through. Why he couldn’t really say. There were other people now moving about attending to those who needed slowly making their way to the garden, or maybe they were coming from the garden? He couldn’t really tell to be honest.

Sigrdrífa did little as she watched the Garden go up in flames. The red-orange flames highlighting the angelic figure against the sky, halberd in hand and what seemed to be a smile across her face. Though, why? No one knew but her, though the sight may have scared some of the superstitious, believing she was some angel of death or such other figure. Aside from seemingly like a bad omen, soon after the explosions and crumbling remnants mostly fell, Sigrdrífa swooped in towards the ruins of Winhill Garden.

Passing over other students, children and innocents lucky and not so lucky in the aftermath, she ignored any cries she heard as she landed in the library section. Or at least what was left of it. Kicking rubble to the side, and throwing larger pieces away, it wasn't too long before she had cleared the cover of the shelter, which seemed to be quite intact, even if it had a dent or two in it. "Help will come soon." She stated, loudly, clearly with confidence and presence, hopefully enough that anyone below could hear what she had said.

Still, they would be fine for now, they were in far better shape then her would be owner. Any doubt she had of him being dead, wasn't around. She could still sense his mind, if that was any indicator, and while it was muffled, he was at the very least still alive. Continuing to navigate her way through burning wreckage of the Garden, as well as tossing it much of it out of the way to clear a path for herself and any rescuers who could come along shortly afterwards, when she finally spotted blood she knew she was close.

Still more rubble, and still more time being wasted as she took her time to move it out of her way, feeling annoyed at the effort being needed to move such things, she had nearly reached the remains of the back wall when she finally came across Isaac's body. Or at least what was left of it. The right side of his body was badly burned, including his face, as well the arm was so shredded it might as well not be there. Amputation was most likely a necessity for such an injury.

That was nothing mentioning the disaster that was below the knee for the right leg either, or the various pieces of shrapnel that was jutting out of the man. It wasn't a pretty sight, nor one that seemed very likely to survive from. Carefully, and slowly scooping up the male, Sigrdrífa spread her wings and took off once again, bring Isaac closer to Winhill, and many of the medical students trying to save what injured were found. "Find some of the combat students, and have them immediately perform fire handling detail, as well as rescue. There are survivors trapped." She stated, gently putting Isaac on the ground near some students.

"Treat him as best you can." It was a simple order, and she assumed that they would adhere as she took flight again, going to help others escape with their lives intact while she could.

Song(s) of the moment:

Lloyd was very confident that with Ellale's help they could stop Galbadia and even turn the tid- what?! His eyes widened at Yuka's words and just as she had said missiles were inbound on a clear collision course with the garden. He clenched his teeth and could hear the panic erupt through the garden as people scrambled for their lives. The faces of his friends, Sophia, Kyrrdis, and the others sprouted to his mind all at once. He had to stop this! He has to save them!

Just as Lloyd took a step forward he felt himself being yanked back by Riyel who held a solemn but resolved expression. Lloyd struggled and and tried to pull himself forward but ultimately was thrown onto the Headmaster's GF. Riyel and Yuka got on next leaving her brother behind. Just as the bombs descended to impact Lloyd made eye contact with the headmaster as Byakko took off.

"NO!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Byakko's paws landed against the soft grass of a cliff to the east far enough from the garden to avoid all injury. Once it's passengers dismounted him, he vanished. Lloyd stood near the tip of the cliff as the hard warm winds blew toward them carrying the scent of charred remains and destruction. The sun had already set on this cruel scene as smoke and remnant embers stained the other wise beautiful sky.
Lamentation
The blonde didn't say a word but rather stared at that scene of disaster. Who...who could have survived something so terrible? He promised to protect them...and now? All he could do was stand and watch as the memories he created here burned before his eyes. He had even found love...and that was stolen from him. Tears sprung up and choked his breathing. Lloyd dropped to his knees and one hand grasped the right half of his face while the other clenched the grass beneath him. Suddenly he began to punch the ground in rapid succession out of sheer emotion. He roared from the depths of his despair...this was all he could do. For all his promises, in the end all Lloyd could do was scream as the sun set on Winhill.
