 John grumbled to himself as he approached the computer, but then it hit him. Government facilities usually needed access which was usually supplied through a card. Darting, silently back to the hall where he had saw the two guards, he needed to focus. Spotting one on his radar like senses, he was going to have to fry the transformer to make the lights flicker for a bit till the generator kicked in which would be 10 seconds or so. "Here I go." He whispered to himself as he rewired the wire which caused a small electrical spike. Moving quickly within a split second of the explosion, he shot a t-line at the keycard. The thin and hardly visible wire would snag the card when the lights flickered off and drew it back to him . The surprised guards and girls most likely would not noticed due to the scare it would most likely cause. Grabbing the card, he ziplined to down the hallway and swung back to the the server which at least 3 hallways down. Swift in the motions, he swiped the card and plugged the flash drive into which would automatically draw all the files off. One of his toys from the ole' days so to speak. John jumped into the shadows and flattened his body and waited for the drive to finish it job and get back to somewhere, less conspicuous.

Both guards glanced upward at the flickering lights, "What was that?"
2) "No idea. Maybe one of the eggheads broke something downstairs."

 "Remember the whole military base experiment thing? Yeah. We are so screwed. The guards said we're being put in chambers...Most won't live..." Nat gasped out, dripping wet and heart pounding. What could they do?!

"I probably shouldn't have sushi now... but thanks anyway Dundee."
Kai held her wrist tightly slightly rubbing it after having the crystal removed. She felt very weak, very tired. And unpleasantly so considering they were still in an IO truck. She waited for Dundee to sit between herself and Arell and then scooted up to him and set her head on his shoulder. She spoke quietly as she sat still holding her hand.
"I dream, of being in my world again. Fighting crime in Gotham along side Robin and Batman. Our 3 grapnel hooks side by side swinging through the upper district. Collecting evidence and stopping the corrupt police. I dream of spreading my wings again, and flying through those high-rises and telling Batman, that I've got it. Throwing criminals in jail, and not killing them... The only injuries they gained was broken limbs, bones and maybe some internal bleeding depending on what was necessary for the mission. This world is wrong to me. In this world, my wings don't symbolize anything good, and neither does my existence. Something I worked so hard for in my world. I feel like I am always in the wrong here. In my world, I would stop on a street of even a foreign country and tell the children that their village or city is saved, and they would see my wings and know, that I was Red Cardinal. A black winged savior... mentored by Batman. If I stop on the streets here I'm no more than a vigilante and a criminal trained by criminals in masks."

((What ever is going on with the electrical monster.... I don't know any more.))
Dr. Willowfield had been finished with the copies of the anti-power bracelets for a while but had gotten distracted by another project he had been working on. He was standing inside of the small structure, tightening a bolt when an electric charge got forced through the wireless port on the outside of the structure.
A bright light flashes from the inside and Henry got blasted out of it and ended up outside the entire building when he landed. He stared up at the sky for a few moments, blackened on the front.
He then stood up and looked at the wall that he had flown through. Upon seeing no hole he walked over and pressed his hand against the wall, now confused. He walked back inside and grabbed the bracelets and goes back to Ivana's office, knocking on the door.

Dundee nodded. "No prollum, Kai." he said with a whisper as he got between Arell and Kai. He put an arm around her when she set her head on his shoulder, listening to what she had to say.
"I wish we was near as respected in our homes, che' . . ." he said, his drawl slowly coming back as Arell started snoring slightly.
"Wheah we come from, we're nothin' more than whatcha just said . . . vigilantes. Fer once, I'd love to get away from this crazy life of keeping Gator-boy there from goin' berserk and . . . and really be a hero for once, not just 'oh, here's the idiot who's just with them all the time, helping the crazy gunman in vigilante justice' but a real hero . . . what goes on in your world." he said . . . something in him seemed a little frustrated with Arell.

"Being a hero, is the best feeling in the world. Knowing that, you've done something with yourself. Something important. From saving the world, to saving a single kid or family... It's the same. But, being a hero, can also be the worst too. When you fail, everyone knows it. When you fail, everyone's trust will be betrayed and you have to work harder than any being to return the trust back to the people you want to help the most."
Kai looked down at her injured wrist, a pale gray color took her skin around the cut. It darkened around the edges of her wound and refused to heal. A damage had been dealt by that crystal to her immortal body, not the mortal part. It would take time for the small gash that was under the cuff to heal immortally and then heal back into the mortal. She pulled one of her gloves over the wound to cover it and tucked it under the sleeve of her costume. And even though she didn't trust Dundee the way she would a family member or best friend, she still let him keep her close. The closeness brought her a slight comfort now that her Uncle was now gone. She had no way to feel about the situation, and no way to cope. Something she was never good at.
"He wasn't a good man, in the end. But he was good, and had potential to become good again. I failed him, and he paid for it. Kane could have done great things, his science, when I was little was brilliant and his science he developed was for the betterment of mankind, but I think my parents ruined his mind, as they wanted to do to me. He shouldn't have been blamed."

(Can we assume that the electrical creature dissipates, so I can move forward with the timeline before this place gets attacked again?)
Ivana herself just walked up to her office just behind Dr. Willowfield. A bit surprised to see him there holding the bracelets he was testing out earlier, "Henry? Is something wrong?"

The blood seemed to drain from Rachel's face, as her blue eyes widened, "Of all the times that I end up right.... How are we going to get out of here? It sounds like we need to leave now."

Dundee nodded, holding Kai close in his arms. "That fall from grace is pretty much what happened to us in a heartbeat. Drove the mafia out of our hometown . . . then Arell went crazy. Got drunk an' went Gator on some poor b*****d over in Carter's Holler after I left for college. Thangs ain't been quite the same since." he said. Pausing in thought . . . perhaps there was an opportunity here. Arell thought them to be heroes, but they were untrained at best, and like Arell showed, brutally murderous at their worst.
"If he didn't have it out for us, I would have loved to hear some of the great scientific theories and concepts he's come up with . . . y'know, before he got brainwashed." he said.
Arell on the other hand, rolled over, his back now facing Kai and Dundee as he slept.

"I hope, that in his next life he is free from what my parents made him in this one... Yet I still wait for the day I'm free from the burden of my past sins which also made me. It's the real reason I became a hero. Selfish... mostly selfish reasons."
Kai reached her good hand up and ran her hand through her hair changing her hair color from teh blonde it was previously made to the familiar RC red and black. She put on her mask and started to relax a bit. A dark truck at this point was much better than IO. Way better in every way.
"You, wouldn't mind helping me train at the cave would you? I just feel like getting home and hitting some targets and jumping through some obstacles. Maybe just do some traversing of Gotham alone... or with Robin to relieve some... well to build up my strength in my wrist anyway."
Kai didn't want to admit that she was upset about Kane's death directly. Or that she needed some time out alone to get it off her chest. Mostly because it was something she was trained not to react to if it interfered with helping others. "Arell was just, doing what he had to. He's, not a bad person, Kane tried... people die right. They die all the time. Just stop thinking about it RC... Think about getting back to work. " She assured herself. Trying to logic out of feeling anything towards the situation one way or the other.

"Don't matter why you're in the business, just that you're fightin' for good. Sure hate t' have a pretty th- err, pretty awesome person like you wind up crossin' HIM." Dun' said quietly. Almost winding up with a slip of the tongue. Not that it wasn't obvious that Dundee had more than just a platonic interest in the young heroine, smirking when her hair turned from blonde and back to red and black, he relaxed. Just my eyes playing tricks on me I bet. he thought. After all, one starts seein' things when in the dark for long.
When she asked him to help train at the cave, Dundee's eyes lit up. "I'd love to! Should be pretty easy t' get done." he said with a smirk as Arell opened his eyes.
"Uhh . . . she-it, what'd we git into now?" Arell growled. Apparently, THIS was the human side of Arell. More confused if anything. "So, who gon' explain why de hell we in a truck?"

"Why did I get the feeling you would say that it didn't matter... about the reason I do what I do. It does matter... to me it does. Anyway, the controls are complicated so it is a little work to learn. And we are in a truck. On our way out of IO."
she stated, in her clear but quiet voice. Her thoughts still circled around her last comment. And they rang true with her. Unspoken merely for the fact that she may get questioned about her past, and would be distrusted if she didn't share. She didn't want anyone to know. Kai's eyes looked to Dundee for a moment before she looked down at her covered wrist again her thoughts of what she wanted to say. "You may see me as a hero, but I save lives to pay off some past debts, and sometimes it feels like my only reason. It makes me feel more guilt, and makes me feel like I shouldn't be saving lives and deal with my failures. I feel guilty almost every day."

"I don't know!" She was moving already, tugging her loose BDU and tank top on as fast a physically possible. "I may be able to get us to the PT field, but I don't know how to get out of here. And if the guards came...I'm sure we could take a few, but they out number us. Her eyes flashed for a moment. "Unless we play lost and cause a scene..."she mumbled. If they could get the guards to take them to the nurse, Nat was sure the office had been close to the main entrance. But the alert was still going on. They'd have to book it.

Henry jumped and turned around to see Ivana. "Oh nothing's wrong, Ma'am. I just have the bracelets ready for you. I made eight all together." He scratched the back of his head nervously as he handed her the box he was holding.
"But yah. Other than that everything's fiiiine...." He drew out the last word of 'fine' for a moment trying to get attention away. He then tied to inch past Ivana to head back to his lab, much paler than normal.

Rachel quickly toweled off and dressed herself in her own PT gear. Thought a moment before whispering back to Nathalia, "If we can get there... maybe try the air ducts? Whatever we do, let's do it."
