Castigal's eyes followed the plushie, noting with Riley the utterly unimpressed fish. "...Wow." Okay, he was impressed. How long had she been at this?
"Well, clearly they're onto you. Let's see how the element of surprise does them - ready to run, Miss Riley?" He didn't wait for an answer. Instead, the boil darted into view of the clearly angry prizes, taking a flying - no pun intended - leap into Floresce-infested waters. His battlecry was a very un-batlike base roar. "Come at me, b-!"
Thankfully, the rest was lost beneath the water.
It didn't stop the boil from bumping the tank, rolling an egg into his waiting talons.

Riley just stared.
Did he just.. and she was meant to.. and yet she wasn't..
Whoops.
She dove in as quickly as she could, straining to catch up, but barely managing to get within a few feet of him when the floresce noticed his ascent and tried to follow. He was safe, but so was she.. because she now had the chance to sneak in and steal and egg while they were off trying to catch him.
And so she did.

Egg tucked snugly into a jacket pocket, Castigal winged quickly out of the waves. Floresce nipped at his heels as he rose - but silly things, they were to no avail. "Not bad, milady~" the Camazotz called as he passed, smiling with a hint of wildness at the tentacled ghoul below. "Again, perhaps?" He dove back into the water, bellowing again at the tide of fish that rose up to meet him.
"Gonna steal your brothers, tasty little foes~!"
Unfortunately, he didn't. Much cursing was had as two waves of fish converged on him, dragging Castigal deeper underwater. The things he did for pretty ghouls...

Of course! She cried, diving back in like a vicious animal. It was just as well that she hadn't managed to sneak past and grab another egg, because the flush of victory from their previous attempt had her acting reckless and violent. She was more interested in thrashing about than actually attempting to claim a prize.
Oh well.

Really, she wasn't the only one. Castigal fought his way out of the fish gangs' hold and back into the sky, only to see Riley struggle and dive back in again. He buffeted the Floresce with wings, teeth and kicking feet. Pay attention to me, useless dregs!
Just in case they didn't get the point, he swam straight for the tank-raft, headbutting it hard. The egg that fell out was snatched up by the bat, waved tauntingly under the noses (snouts? muzzles? whatever.) of the rabid fishies, and then gone - Castigal's pursuers snapping after it as he pulled them away from the ghoul.

This was much more fun than sneaking around. Riley could have wrestled with the floresce all day, and that might have been the case, if she had not noticed the boil snatch up another egg in his last thrust into the water. Focus, she told herself. She was losing focus! It was just.. so much more pleasurable to inflict pain on the creatures that had been slapping away at her all day.
Even now, they dragged her away, depositing her neatly before fluttering off. She gathered her composure, and moved to stand beside her new comrade.
Nice catch, at the end there. She murmured quietly. I'm not quite done yet. I intend to go out with a bang.

This latest egg was pocketed, although Castigal had to fish one very angry, serpentine Firelands out of that pocket to do so. He liked this ghoul, he decided - and if things like this happened all the time, he just might like this school. The smile that crossed his face made an effort to be suave as Riley's compliment slid over his mind - but given the recent tussle, mostly came off as feral.
"Yeah? Thank you; you weren't doing too badly yourself." He flexed briefly, steadying wings and limber muscles for another go. Those little nippers looked...really quite angry at them now, and he said as much. "Going out with a bang sounds like fun. What'd you have in mind?"
