"WHAT?! RILEY YOU HAVE TO GET THEM TO TURN OFF THE BLACK LIGHTS!" Amrita cried out much too loudly. It wouldn't be good for Riley to be blind! She was super important! Aaaaaa NEED SIGHT! After a moment or two of fretting, Amrita pointed at her face again.
"YOU CAN USE MINE! Like...Like I used yours yeah!" It made sense, right?! It had to work! The little fretting ghoul turned to look at the Kappa they were introduced too, offering her a meek little smile and a wave of backward fingers.
...And then Jericho picked Riley up like it was nothing. "Eep! B-be careful!" It wouldn't do for her to lose her confidence teacher, after all!

Dekana was late, he knew this, and it didn't particularly bother the Panther as he slipped into the Prom and made his way along the edge with the rest of the wallflowers. Clad in a black laced up corset that ended just at the base of his bare chest, a jacket to cover the shoulders and a pair of copper pinstripe trousers that echoed and accented his own natural copper tones. Over all he cut a striking, almost exotic figure as his scales caught the dance lights and glimmered while he weaved through the crowd, trying hard not to get his tail stepped on.
Was anyone here that he knew? Not that he knew all that many people... but still. Some old, some new? He inhaled and stood up taller, the tilt of his head proud as he lingered along the walls, struck nervous by the press of people.

The Deep One watched as the ghoul named Cady dashed off. It was probably lost among the music and chatter that filled the auditorium, but she called after her anyway, "Niccce to meet you, Cady!" Something about her blunt manner was very endearing and Ys hoped she would get to know her better in the future. With the other ghoul occupied with a positively glowing boil on the other side of the room, she returned her attention to the luminous Ash. She had thought she'd be afraid of ghosts, but this ghoul was scary in a good way- Ys was positively fascinated as the let Ash draw her in. She belatedly realized that the ghoul must have learned to dance in the past, so she didn't press the matter. "Well, you'll cccertainly have a chancce to ssshow off your ssskillsss tonight!" was the gleeful comment. It was nice listening to her speak, her voice was so enchanting even with the noise all about them. Her laugh had an eerie quality to it, but Ys found herself giggling along with her, bubbles zipping to the surface of the water in her helm. "Danccce? I would love to danccce with you!" she enthused, throwing her hands up in the air. This would be such great fun! She followed along behind the ghost ghoul, bouncing with excitement and the energizing music all around. The festive atmosphere had permeated her entire being, but finding herself included by new friends was the icing on the cake. "That'sss fine!" she called after Ash as she headed off to the drinks. She continued to jam out on her own, her moves an odd mixture of eely grace and completely foreign twists.

Christof frowned a he was introduced to Calder's date, his brows narrowing as his hodgepodged brain tried to fling facts and memories left and right. The little horseman was so.... familiar! But he couldn't quite...
He shifted shyly as introductions were made and his date's dress was complimented, once more twisting his tie between his hands as he mulled it over... he had met this Invictus before, he could swear it... that voice... it sounded so familiar...
Realization clicked. His eyes widened, and he immediately took a step back, face white with panic, "IT'TH YOU!!"

The spookies did look good, Cady would probably want a few, and really it was the least the witch could do for the other ghoul. Relaxing again, she approached the table and carefully placed a few choice items in a napkin, giving each a small sniff just in case. But overall, it seemed to be going well, and the music was nice too. She even managed not to drop anything when she startled at the manticore's yell. She hasn't quite understood the message, but was willing enough to go join in whatever Cady had in mind. "We should bring her some...I hope I grabbed enough..." Looking at the spookies, to Deacon, and back to Cady, she grabbed a few more, and tried to make her way to the taller ghoul. Tried being the keyword. There were a lot of students. A lot of dancing students. And the room's decorations which had so thrilled her upon entry, ended up distracting and confusing her several times over. Somehow having lost sight of both her dates, the witch eventually she ended up at the edge of the crowd by a wall, wide-eyed and holding up a napkin full of snacks defensively in front of her.

Riley couldn't help but chuckle in amusement at Amrita's offer, and she shook her head. Really, it's not a big deal, I can just- WHAT ARE YOU DOING JERICHO-
And suddenly the world was upside down.
She lifted herself so that she wasn't completely bent over the dragon's shoulder, and looked up at Hasuko and Mal with widened eyes. If she had a mouth, she would have mouthed out the word help at that moment. As it was, she just waved her hand tragically as she was stolen.

Calder didn't know what it was about Lilith, but his ears perked and his eyes narrowed slightly at she seemed to look at his date with a bit more intensity than he would have liked. While he was respecting that this was Barth's date and someone he rather liked, Calder was if anything a young, territorial kelpie. He didn't get many boils who would bother agreeing to go on a date with him and while he was sure Invictus could hold his own, the boil's impassive nature to almost everything so far (aside from his moments of unprompted smiling) made Calder believe that he probably would address the issue. Of what Calder was making into an issue.
Call it animal instincts, but he felt a tad territorial in the moment, and to make his point clear to Lilth in the most subtle way possible, Calder leaned in a bit closer to Invictus and smiled sweetly at the ghoul. He hoped the ghoul could catch on. Invictus, for now, was HIS and she needed to realize he was taking just the slightest step in making that point clear. A simple back off and stick to your own date before she even thought she could attempt anything. There was no way he was going to even give her an inch on this account.
Still, despite his flicking tail, he thought it was rather impressive that Invictus could sway ghouls just by looking at him. If Calder had to beat them all with sticks (or a board with sharp, rusty, nails), he would. Gladly. He'd probably enjoy it to no ends though it would ruin his outfit.
Instead of lingering on his unspoken message too long, he turned his attention to Christof who was acting weird. "Christof, don't point. It's rude." Not that Calder never pointed before. He just didn't like people pointing at his date. If people were going to give Invictus this sort of attention, Calder was going to drag him off to the dance floor and just keep him all to himself.

"Bringing you with me. What does it look like?" grinned Jericho as he walked back towards the table. Since Lizzy needed help, he was going to have to make a couple trips. But first things were first. His friend had more priority over getting drinks and all.
Once he was back at the table, he glanced over at Shun and Mitsu before carefully setting down the Mindflayer.
"There we go. Go ahead and have a seat. I'll be right back," he said before moving to head back to where Lizzy was so he could help her out.

Oh dear Jack, some ghoul was already looking at him. His position was compromised. Johan considered his options, and quickly realized that they were dwindling. The ghoul was walking towards him! A quick study was enough for him to note that she was some kind of monster. Horns, wings, claws, tail, not to mention lots and lots of teeth. Johan did his best to look unperturbed by her approach, though her first question threw him completely. "Ah." was his eloquent reply. It would sound ridiculous if he said he was looking for a date. " Nein. I do not have a date. You zay I'm glowing?" He glanced down at his shirt, his eyebrows twitching upwards as he realized it was true. He was fluorescent. Funny how dire peril will make you overlook the obvious. He tried to edge away from the lights, not wanting to attract anymore undue attention, but trying to show that he was still paying attention to the ghoul. She didn't appear to have a date with her, so he didn't want to offer her insult in case she might be willing to dance. His eyes slid down to her clawed hands. He'd probably see if anyone else was willing first, however. As someone called Cady's name from the DJ booth, Johan realized she might not be available anyway, if she was in charge of the music. "Zey are comfortable enough." he replied, ignoring the shoes at the moment. From All-A-Tire? Formal attire? Oh dear. "Ja, I zink zis vould pass for formal attire. My name is Johan Klarstein. It is nice to meet you, Cady. Zough, I zink you are being called?" He gestured towards the DJ booth.

There was another nod to Shun's comment a hesitant smile to his offer. "T..thank you. I'll keep that in mind." She probably wouldn't want to ask him to get her anything, he had already done so much for her.
Picking her fork up again Mitsu decided to have at the piece of cake she had gotten, looking up in time to see Jericho flinging the mindflayer she had seen at open house over his shoulder. Wow...he made it look so easy...like she was nothing more than a feather. It also seemed like he was headed back this direction with his 'hostage' in tow. Looked like there were going to be more people soon, Mitsu did her best to stay calm. She had been doing well so far, she had met these people...they were all nice. At least that's what she kept reminding herself before the feeling to flee started to settle in.

Riley was flopped down rather quickly, and told to take a seat.
So she did.
On the table.
Which she thought was a chair.
Her hands reached out, looking for who was around her. She placed her hand directly on Mitsu's head. Whoever it was felt.. so short..
Astra?

Tomoko beamed as Seiji took her off to dance, squeezing her unofficial-older-brother's hand. Her ears perked up as the music changed and her tails wagged just a bit. "What Babe?" She grinned back between Seiji's own submission to the lyrics, easily submitting to his lead, even with her bouncing and glee. "What power~?" she asked again.
Yep, even a lil' ghoul like Tomoko knew this one! Her parents had a copy of it from the human world, and it was a fascinating little thing. A fabulous little thing, even. Unlike Shehk, Tomoko had much better versing in proper dancing. It had been one of those things her mother had groomed her in towards becoming a proper 'substitute' wife.
Dancing, flower arrangement, and other 'ideal' feminine tasks had been learned. But dancing was funner with friends, and she giggled as she spun and swayed with Seiji, simply because there was nothing more to it than having that fun.
===
Shehk was nearly pulled away with Christof when he backed off from the horseman, shrieking a bit and pulling her arm out of his.
"Christof??" she seemed worried, her lips tightening before she looked back to Invictus. s**t, did she speak up-
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT LOOK???
Shehk's ears drooped and she too stepped away from Invictus, baring her teeth at him, brows furrowing together.
===
"It is a pleasant situation under which to be meeting you." Invictus said in exchange to the introduction. "As Calder has said, I am Invictus; one of the four horseman heirs that are currently assisting at the school. My father is known as Conquest...and Pestilence." They were heavy and large shoes for him to step into someday.
He took a moment to note each of the names he was being told. Barth, Barth's-Date (Lilith, was it? Quite a nice name, that was), Shehk-in-the-color-of-death, and Christof. Christof alone seemed to hold a certain entertainment as the hunchback recoiled from him. Oh yes, very entertaining.
Invictus had gotten that wicked smile back on his face that probably would have made Johnny the Homicidal Maniac jealous from how simple it was. Invictus simply looked pleased. There were no teeth being shown off, he didn't even truly look diabolical. It was unsettling.
"It seems you have some...idea...of your place." he said, his voice fluctuating oddly, before Invictus paused, clutching his head as though it was throbbing, and it truly did feel as though someone was shoving a red hot poker into his eye socket..slowly. The horseman forced himself to stand up straight and remove his hand from his face and steel his expression again.
"Coming out here is proving to be quite entertaining." he said, looking to Calder.

Aurian was a little surprised that Mandy seemed to know a little bit about the layout of the room. Did her blind date have some kind of racial ability to help her 'see'? Maybe like bats and their sonar? Mandy did have rather large ears, but Aurian thought they looked furry and kind of cuddly, not bat-like at all. "There's dancing," she agreed with Mandy. "There's also some food, or drink, I think... And I see tables set up for something, but no one is there right now, so maybe that's for later." She turned back to Mandy as they they slowly made their way clear of the entrance. "Do you want to dance? And, um, I really don't want to be rude or anything, but... can you see a little bit? It's just, I wasn't told, and I wanted to be prepared and helpful and-!" Aurian paused as she ran out of breath. "Um, if you don't mind saying, I mean." She cringed, hoping she wasn't causing any offense. By Jack, this was weird. Aurian was much more of a 'hide in the shadows' kind of ghoul. Manners and polite talk weren't her specialties.

Nodding to the wolf girl, Shun turned in time to see Jericho coming back with the female mindflayer in tow. He thought he was going to get drinks, but instead came back with a sort of hostage. Strange. He stared at the two for a moment or so, giving Riley a sort of acknowledging nod before glancing to Mitsu.
Something about the way she sat made her seem a bit antsy again. Was it the cake, he wondered?
"You can get up and speak to the others if you'd like," he said. Perhaps she just wanted to get up. He didn't want her to think that she had to follow him around. If anything it would probably be more of the opposite. The reaper didn't really care what went on for the most part.
Hearing the Mindflayer address and touch Mitsu, he furrowed his brow. Who was Astra?

Letting go of Shehk, Christof immediately reached forward to grab Calder by the arm, wrenching him away from the horseman urgently, "Get away from him, he'th dangerouth!" He hissed, positively seething as vague memory slowly drifted into coherency, whisps of fog, torture, laying at his Mistress's feet as death nearly gripped him... and that smile. And that voice. Echoing in his mind. It had been nothing but a blur until now, and he almost preferred it that way.
Even so, he was not about to let the horrible little man torture his friend.
