Planet of the Apes is a pillar of modern sci-fi. Tim Burton's remake was s**t. This has promise, though I'm a little concerned over the intelligence of the apes. Will they talk? That was an important aspect of the original film, so I hope they at least nod to it.

I think it would be necessary for them to... It would be an awesome ending... like, Caesar saying something right at the end...
Also, I'm not too well versed in the older films, but I really don't think Burton's was too bad of a film.

That's the problem with remakes/reboots; you can't help but compare them to the original.
As a stand-alone film I don't think Burton's Apes was terrible. It wasn't anything special, but I don't think it's half as bad as people make it out to be. Though in all honesty I've gotta say it's been a long time since Tim Burton made a film that actually wowed me.
The new one doesn't look bad though.

Spirit that was a much better way of putting it. Burton hasn't exactly wowed anyone these past few years so I'm a little biased.

Has Burton ever been a "wow" director, though? Admittedly I went on a big Sweeney Todd bunge a few years back, but overall I don't think he's had any truly brilliant films for all people like him. He's got fangirls everywhere for Nightmare, and Beetlejuice was a pretty good 90s movie (I love me some Winona), but still.

Batman certainly impressed me(and IMO, is the best Batman film to date). As did Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, and Sleepy Hollow. Everything since then has been rather meh though.
Beetlejuice is my personal favorite Tim Burton AND Alec Baldwin movie.

Have not seen Ed Wood, but I'll give you the others, those were some of his better films. I personally enjoy the Nolan Batman more as it places him in a more grounded realism. Burton's Batman was great, but more so because he redefined super hero films more so than anything else in my opinion. However, Jack Nicholson was by far one hell of a Joker.

They showed a gameplay demo during Ubisoft's conference at E3 like 45 minutes ago. I saw it on G4.
