Q: just cause I'm curious if you convert a hunter to halloween is there any way their weapon can survive or do they just die

A: The weapon merges with the hunter ~ !
so you dont have like, just a dead/ghost version of your hunter
you have an entirely new ghost/undead that has elements of both hunter and weapon
for a hunter to end up a ghost/undead, they need that extra fear that the weapon was once made of (because otherwise, the intact weapon would just absorb the leftover fear itself)
ghost and undead (that are "born" from humans directly) are the result of excess fear remaining in the body, animating either oth body and personality, or just personality

Q: so it is impossible to have just a dead/ghost version of the hunter?

A: correct!
