Poppy appeared in tattered clothes at the door of Dannie's house.
She took a deep breath and knocked, hoping they'd have some extra food.
Poppy wasn't in the mood for looking in the dumpsters today.
Ash smiled and gently shook her hand. He tried very hard to be gentle,
sometimes he didn't know his own strength. "If that hurt... I'm sorry,
sometimes I have a hard time figuring out what my own strength is"
he said and smiled again.
"Have you guys... or girls. sorry. Met any other.. uh" he looked at
himself then looked back up. "Nekos?... forgot what I was
for a second there" Ash chuckled.

Dannie held Luce up and set him down on the couch, off of Ren. She kissed his cheek and giggled. "You relax kitty, but if you want breakfast then I suggest you start waking up." she said to him before she smiled at Akihiko. "Thanks Aki! I'm coming." she said as she headed back into the kitchen. She turned on her stove and then finished stirring the mix before looking at Akihiko. "What kind of pancakes do you like? As you can see, I make all kinds so you can have whatever you want! Same with you Ren!" she called out to him before she giggled softly. Penelope shook his hand and realized he was being gentle. She smiled at him and shook her head. "No it's fine. Didn't hurt me at all." she said with a giggle before she heard his next question. "Actually yeah I have. I met him down at the beach but they're definitely not there anymore. And then there's this neko girl here. Three nekos in one day and yet I haven't met anyone else that was part bunny." she said with a small pout before she rolled her eyes.

"Did someone just knock on the door?" Ren asked.
"I'm craving strawberries," Akihiko said.

Dannie nodded at Akihiko and smiled. "Ok, strawberries it is!" she said with a giggle before she heard Ren say something about a knock on the door. "If someone's there please answer it! For all I know it could be something important!" she said to Ren as she started cooking Akihiko's pancakes.

Poppy sighed, she knew someone was home,
she heard them moving. and. ooooh. that smells so good. I haven't had a
real meal in so long she thought and looked down at her skinny body.
Poppy took a deep breath and raised her hand to knock again.
Ash grinned. "Good. Sometimes I tend to hurt people without
knowing it or without meaning it. Or both" he smiled. "Oh? It's a he? Okay, it's refreshing to know that I'm not the
only guy who got kitty ears and a tail. Which, I don't mind.
Cats are a pretty awesome animal" Ash said, grinning.

Dannie looked over at the door to see who it was but Ren's body was blocking her vision. She just went back to cooking and flipped the pancakes. "Who is it Ren?" she asked him. Penelope smiled at Ash and nodded. "Cats are pretty cool. But I prefer rabbits. Which probably explains why I now a fluffy white tail and these long ears that constantly get in my way." she said as one of her ears fell in her face. She sighed and pushed it away before she giggled. "So what are you doing out here anyway?" she asked as she crossed one leg over the other.

Poppy stood there, with her hand raised in a knocking position when the door opened.
She yanked her hand down to her side. "I... uh-- I was wondering...
If maybe.... You- uh... had... any, f-food, t-to spare...."
she said, not meeting his eyes..
Ash chuckled and touched on of her ears. "One thing I love
about rabbits though, is that their always so soft.
They're so delicate, you really need to be careful with them.
But yeah, they're cool, I don't prefer cats, or any animals. I love em' all.
Your ears, happen to be really cool" he said, grinning. Ash shrugged.
"Eh, no where else to really be. Twenty years young, my parents finally
got nerve and kicked me out of the house... I went to live with my
girlfriend... which ended badly..." he trailed off and looked at Penny.

Poppy finally got some confidence and brought her eyes away from the ground.
She looked past the boy and saw more people than she thought were in there.
so many friends. she thought sadly.
Poppy hadn't interacted with people in at least 7 years.

Dannie finished making Akihiko's strawberry pancakes and she added a dash of sugar and a bit of whip cream. She set the plate of pancakes on the table for Akihiko and smiled. "Drinks are in the fridge. Help yourself." she said as she wiped her hands on her apron and walked over to the door. She smiled at the girl and noticed how thin she was. "Yeah, come on in. I'm sure I'll enough for everyone." she said kindly as she lead the girl inside and closed the door. "You can come take a seat in the kitchen and tell me what kind of pancakes you want." she said with a giggle before she looked at Ren. "See if you can get Luce awake so I know what he wants for breakfast." she said as she lead the girl to the kitchen. "I'm Dannie. What's your name?" she asked the girl. Penelope bit her lip when he touched her ear and she giggled when he said they were soft. She hid her blush well and nodded at what he said. "Well that sucks. But I mean, if you need a place to stay, my house is always open. My family's not there anymore so there's tons of space." she said as she smiled and then looked down.

Poppy slowly and cautiously followed Dannie.
"w-what kind of p-pancakes are t-there?" she asked very quietly as she sat down in the kitchen.
"P-Poppy" she said softly.
Ash looked at her and smiled at her offer. "That sounds
wonderful but I wouldn't want to intrude" he said softly.
Ash looked around and saw some litter on the grouned.
"What?! Stupid people!" he hissed and went to put
the litter in the garbage. Ash walked back to Penny.
"Sorry about that"

Luce felt someone trying to wake him and tried to ignore it. When then that didn't work he hugged the person.
Ren hissed and tried to free himself from Luce's grasp. When that didn't work he pulled his tail.
Luce yelped and sat up, throwing Ren onto the floor. "That hurt!" he yelled.
"Breakfast out," Ren said standing up and heading into the kitchen.
"Oh," Luce said heading over there, "Ooohhh....bananas!!

Dannie smiled at Poppy and giggled. "Well Poppy, I've got chocolate chip, banana, strawberry, cinnamon, or blueberry. I could make you one of each if you'd like." she said as she took a chocolate chip and popped it into her mouth since all the cooking was making her hungry. She giggled when Luce walked in and spotted the bananas. She began to make him some banana pancakes before she looked at Ren. "I need to know what you want too." she said with a grin as she focused on her cooking. Penelope smiled at Ash and shook her head. "It's fine. If you hadn't noticed it then no one would've and that litter would probably caused some kind of animal a problem." she said with a giggle before she ran her fingers through her hair. "And you wouldn't be intruding. It's my house now and I'm inviting you to stay for a while if you'd like. I don't mind at all." she said. ((edit!))
