((And now for a way-lagged post due to sleep! Ha ha! TO RESPOND TO EVERYTHING!! ))

"Holy s**t, Birdboy. Have you ever seen a mountain? Do you know what mountains do? They grow ******** trees all over their damn selves. Just because they're rocky doesn't mean they're treeless." Again, it was the woodland creature (and her RPer who lives in mountains experience) talking, rolling her eyes for a moment. Although, she did seem to get a tough suspicious when her biggest fan was pretty much silent next to her......

Though the second her grabbed her chin, she knew she needed to at least try to protest what was about to happen; "Hey! I can fully well direct my own fa-mmnfff!" The muffled continuance of a protest only lasted a few seconds though (though she may have discreetly leaned into that kiss. -Maybe-), Shehk's ears flicking back as she at least kept up her front of protest, hands holding firmly onto her knees until the skinwalker released her from that horrible thing.

Once that was done, she raised a hand to punch him in the not-morphing-horribly shoulder with a huff. "I did not say you could do that!!" she growled, ignoring the convenient fact that she had technically promised that Israfel would get to see the Skullface Ackshuns he'd been asking about for what felt like -weeks- if he'd beaten up a tree. She'd totally just traded her public-face (...quite literally, actually) in the name of..well.. motivation, she guessed.

Now she was at least going to huff and puff about it, like it was really going to do much of anything to make people think that a part of her hadn't been wanting him to grab on and kiss her. NOPE. NEVER. Either way, her little shoulder-punch had probably been mostly ineffective on the meatbag.... which had only been fortunate in that when she immediately huddled onto him for warmth again it was OUT OF HATE. RIGHT?

God. She really did protest too much. But it was so much fun to.

Once things got moving again the next day, however, Shehk (sadly reduced to paws again) had started romping ahead in the snow with a very lame 'trot' in her steps. She'd gotten over the fact that she was going to have to walk with her paws in the evil snow (it was preferable to the freeze-y human body), but that didn't mean it was any funner as the trees cleared out...leaving them with what looked like a couple of different options as where to walk. Hmmmmm.

Shehk turned her head to look back towards her companions, seeking feedback as to if anybody had any preferences as where to go.

Was that....?

Oh, thank Jack. Malodore heaved a sigh of relief as what had seemed like endless forest finally, finally ended.

(( Scout group is Braum Livi, West, Aksaja, Iolanthe and Corbin. As far as i know XD))

Livi had kept moving until he noticed how some people were pitching up tents. Really? Was it time for it? Though he wasn't sure, the others had to be tired. After all, there had been excitement, nasty trees and moving around. He was glad a general path had been picked, since in the end, it didn't matter as long as they reached Christmas Town. He heard someone protesting about the mountains; something about there being trees there regardless, but he didn't feel comfy with isle, bridges and isles. For some reason, the thought of going south gave him the creeps.

But he didn't pitch his own tent. Not just yet. Especially since he wasn't tired, it was best to stay on the look out. And he noticed that he wasn't the only one with the idea, noticing Corbin doing the same. Moving over to stand next to him, he smirked faintly. "Glad you joined up. Always good to have a healer on board, right?" He looked up at him and chuckled faintly. "I'm Livi. You're.. Corbin?" He had heard his name on the train and had noticed him with a ghoul as well. He was nothing if not observant.

Adjusting himself on the large rock, the Crow Wraith dangled his legs off the edge, the backs of his combat boots tapping the stone lightly in a quiet rhythm. It seemed most of their group was still tented and tired, not coherent enough to answer a question or assist in gathering supplies of any kind, even minor for something such as this.

When the Avarice Demon, Envy, approached, Corbin was slightly taken aback but it did not show on his face. Instead, an acknowledging smile was there, his icy blue eyes narrowing as he examined the green demon. "Livi," he repeated, wondering if that was merely a nickname; if it was, Corbin would refer to him as his full name whenever he discovered it, same as with the Raum. "Yes, I'm Corbin." he offered a white hand to the demon, unsure if it would be taken and shook. Mannerisms were different between species but he assumed theirs were close enough in general category. Ironically, he might have been closer to West, he being Wrath and Corbin a spirit of vengeance.

Looking down at his wrist, the bells tied to it and safe as ever, he nodded at the comment. "I like to help out where I can. Did you fight? Need a jingle?" he hadn't used any of the bells yet and he was hoping to save them for a real emergency but if someone requested he wouldn't turn them down. He had the Pumpkin Pills for himself, after all, why use the bells there when many others would need them? Scrutinizing Livi once more, he had to wonder if he wouldn't mind offering up a piece of clothing for their marker--he was very eye catching. "Don't suppose you have a bit of cloth to spare? It'd be good to make a sign so the stragglers know where we are." At least, he and Braum seemed to have the same idea.

He nodded when Corbin repeated his name, since it was the name everyone knew him by. His full name was never disclosed. Ever. But he took the hand and shook it firmly, same as he had for Braum. To Livi, there was no reason to treat anyone without respect; regardless of type. His parents hated that way about him, but he figured why not? It never hurt to extend a simple courtesy right?

"I have fought, but I'm all right, if not scratched up a bit. Thank you for the offer, though. Best to save such things for when they're really needed, right? It's still early in the same." He leaned lightly against the rock and looked around. So far, the trees were playing their proper roles; being still and not happy, but one could never be too careful around here. This wasn't home and there were no true safe zones. Everyone was in danger here until they were done and they went home. Cloth? The question make him look down a bit at his outfit. It was torn up anyway and he doubted that patching it up would do anyway.

Best to put it to some kind of good use. "Yeah. It's fine. Did you want my tie or my jacket?" He could tear it up, he supposed. For the greater good.
PostPosted: Fri Dec 17, 2010 12:18 pm

Ahh, Livi was a helpful one, wasn't he? This caused the Wraith's eyes to brighten slightly, the smile setting in more but still weak compared to most jovial expressions. He was right, the bells should be left to emergencies, much the same line of thinking. Corbin could appreciate that, most certainly.

Even more, when he responded positively to the more odd question, Corbin waved a hand dismissively, "Just the tie, if it's not a bother. No need to be any colder, right?" a brow cocked almost playfully as he slid down to his feet on the snow, the white crunching beneath his tough boots. His wings stretched, still sore but feeling better than they did a few hours ago. At least they would be able to make progress soon and they wouldn't have to worry about the others; whether they followed up the Mountains or went elsewhere was none of their concern now and Corbin felt more at ease with a smaller group to look after.

"Please and thank you," Corbin added with a dry scoff as his hand was once more held out, this time for the tie. His Stalkman belched out a quick metal riff and then returned to silence.

"Nah, no bother." His smirk was still in place as he unclipped the pin, put in into his jacket pocket and unfurled his tie. He had to admit it felt a bit odd to be without it, since he typically wore one. And for good reason, as it showed something he didn't talk about. But the tie was easier to use than tearing up the jacket, huh. Either way, it worked out. In the end, it was just fabric. "It's not as frigid as I've always heard about... this place, I mean. Though the breeze is annoying and making my wings stiff."

"And yes, best to reserve what we have, since it's not like we have a lot." He reached out himself and placed the tie into Corbin's outstretched hand. "It may get colder up in the mountains, but it may also be incentive to not waste time, hmm?" He looked amused as he thought about it. "I think it's better than to trust anything that remotely looks like bridges in this place... or go straight down the middle. I dunno about you, but fighting is something I'm learning to get better at. I'd rather be more logical than seek a quick way out." And maybe, in a roundabout way, he could find out the status of Lizzy and his little protege, Amrita. Maybe he'll get lucky and they'll meet up. Though... it was odd to think about things like this. Really odd, especially for him.

"You're welcome." He liked those who had some kind of manners and Corbin seemed an alright boil to him. He had his head of pretty straight, as far as he could tell. Blinking at the Stalkman, he snickered at it, finding it amusing. He never had seen one of those before except in pictures, but he didn't say that. "Least, ya know, if you ever get tired of silence or something, you have some music to listen to."
PostPosted: Fri Dec 17, 2010 12:47 pm

Indeed, this demon appeared to be an alright fellow; nothing about him was setting off any warnings in Corbin's gut. Despite this, he flinched at the touch of the fabric in his palm. If this were any normal situation and his Natural Ability was working, he might have been sent into an embarrassing torrent of flashbacks relating to the tie. Now, at least, he was thankful for the JOY circumventing their FEAR: this way he could avoid seeing things he never wanted to in the first place and he could form honest opinions about the people around him instead of knowing their secrets.

It was best this way.

"It's a hassle sometimes," he sneered at the Stalkman who had its tape deck open, gnarly teeth visible as if waiting for a new addition to its musical library. It certainly wouldn't be getting anything for a while, if this Christmas trip had anything to say about it, "The eyePods seem much more intent to cooperate." Once more, it hacked up a warbled sound, some part of a song that was too short for Corbin to place but it was decidedly heavy and he wished the device had played more of it.

Examining the tie, Corbin wound it around his hands for a moment and marveled at the softness of the fabric before moving cautiously over to the nearest tree. From an onlooker with no context, it might appear as though Corbin were sneaking up in an attempt to strangle the thing but when he was close enough he nudged the trunk with his boot and was met with no movement. From there, he tugged on some of the branches and peeled off some needles before winding the tie around the branch. It may have been green but it was such an acidic shade that it would easily be picked up in the white of the snow.

Digging through his pockets, he rummaged for a writing utensil and pulled out an eye liner pencil. Well, it wasn't ideal but it would work for now. Hush, you, his 'make up' was natural. Within a few moments, he managed to make a crude drawing of some mountains with a large "TO" written above it and wrote his name beneath. Twirling the pencil in his fingers, he held it out to Livi and gave the Avarice Demon room to write his name too.

"When they wake up, I'll ask everyone to write their names so anyone following knows who's gone ahead." It seemed courteous to the ghost, though perhaps some would think it a waste of time.

Aksaja added his name to the tie after a few moments and then glanced around at the Scout group. "So, everybody ready..? Let's get outta this stupid forest," he muttered - and started tromping through the snow to the north...

((Better than what I could do XD Can't draw trees lol))

The flinch was noticed, documented, accepted and not mentioned. His eyes shifted a bit to look up at him curiously, but he didn't ask any questions. Such things were considered rude at the first meeting of people. After he flexed his fingers a bit to make sure they were being less stiff, he rubbed the back of his neck and grimaced slightly. Yeah, really felt weird, but hopefully the discomfort would fade in a few hours. Or less. Sooner was definitely better than later.

"Seems like good company; hassle or no. I have an eyePod, but I haven't done anything with it yet. Haven't found music I like just yet, I guess." A light shrug was given cause he wasn't sure of it. Fashion and music went hand in hand, so he figured, but he hasn't found the music that fit into his style... yet. He would, sooner or later. Though it was a bit, far than a bit, amusing that the Stalkman didn't seem to care for playing full songs. "I've read somewhere that they like being fed things other than tapes. Is that true?"

But the question was left alone as Corbin stalked a tree to make sure it didn't jump out to try to hug anyone... eww JOY hugs... and then worked on setting up the banner. By all means, it didn't need to be a work of art. Just as straight forward as possible and Corbin did just that. Shifting a bit and placing his hands on his hips as he watched, he nodded in approval. Simple. To the point. Worked for him. Taking the pencil with a murmured 'thanks', he worked on writing out his name as best he could. Livi. Four letters, easy. "There." Straightening, he turned a bit to see if anyone else was up from their group. Iolanthe was resting... hmm... his eyes rested on West and he called out to him, waving his hand a bit. "Pardon? West? Are you coming with us to the mountains?"

Riley had woken up before Israfel and taken a nice, long walk. It had ended up being an encounter with Malodore that was muchly needed, and so when she returned to camp to wake up Israfel, she was in a much better mood.

She poked the tent with her foot very gently, before sticking her head inside.

Psst. Time to wake up Israfel. I need my tent back, and we're leaving.

West looked up from his snow gouges. "North's'fine, yeah," he replied. He rose to his feet and brushed off the back of his pants as he clomped over, holding out his hand for the pencil. Clomping along some more, he scribbled his name at the end of the tie, then rejoined Livi and Corbin. "Gettinoutta these trees'll be summin' at least," he said, looking around. It seemed the things were quiet now.

There was little to say about Israfel when he woke up. Mostly that he made a lot of peeps and chirps and said he was warm and fuzzy and could you come back later? However, that was normal, and this morning he was in Riley's tent, which meant he should respect her wishes. Crawling out, he sort of flopped into the snow, wigging his way forward. "Is cold..but fluffy." Wigging until the was totally out of the tent and was coming to his full, (if partially hungover), senses, The siren rolled onto his back and sat up.
Very slowly.
Being hungover, the siren winced as he opened his eyes to the sunlight, tiny peeps of indignation as he forced himself to stand. "Riley?" He sniffled a tad from the cold. "Where did you go? I thought you left without me."

The entire night, Nuk had crunched around in the snow in a half-sleep, vaguly wondering if it was the ice and snow that was making him tired. Bears hibernated, didn't they? In Halloweentown it had always been fall, never spanning into the winter months where some of the predators he tended towards would hole themselves up and sleep. In this... weird... snowy-place, he could feel this little twitch of tired in the back of his mind, one that wasn't there usually. Luckily, it seemed to only happen at night (which was still weird for the skinwalker, who was used to only sleeping when he wanted to) but still, he didn't like it much at all. And it was still so BRIGHT at night. All these twinkling stars and the moonlight reflecting off the white snow making it seem like day when it should have been pitch black.

WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THIS PLACE?!

When the sun arose in the morning, Nukpana gave a large, toothy yawn, shaking himself out a bit and rolling his shoulders. It seemed like the others had stopped... had they gotten there? He resisted the urge to ask, instead listening to the others before shrugging his shoulders, running his not-right fingers through his hair a little groggily.

"I don't care where we go, 'slong as we go there soon. I'm ready to get away from drunk trees," he replied with a nonchalant shrug, grinning broadly.

(AND NUK IS OUT!)

Calmly, the Wraith watched as one of the dragons trudged on up, wrote his name and proceeded to head onto the path. He remained silent as Aksaja called to them, merely observing the dragon's anxiousness, but he was not ready to leave yet. If necessary, he would bring up the rear to make sure everyone in their small group was getting there safely.

Livi called out to another and the demon of Wrath approached, writing his own name. Another Avarice Demon in their group? Corbin nodded his acknowledgment to the addition of West, tucking his hands into the pockets of his monochromatic flannel jacket. Then again, what wasn't monochrome save for his eyes?

"You two can go on ahead, if you like. I'm waiting for the others," he bowed his head toward the two demons, a serene look as always. In truth, he wouldn't mind company if they decided to linger but West especially seemed as keen as Aksaja to depart so he couldn't blame the demon for wanting to get a move on. His wings twitched, stiff like Livi's but perhaps slightly better insulated from his dark feathers.

The Stalkman hacked up a full song, then, but it played quietly. A nice one by Device this time, which was a change of pace considering it kept playing Ultrakil and Gatorhead while on the train and little else. Hadn't Livi asked something about Stalkmen before he tied up the marker? "They especially like fingers," he tilted his head toward the Envy demon, a hand patting the Stalkman as it peeked out from his pocket just as the song picked up in volume.

He had never really asked but something told Corbin his taste in music wasn't quite shared by most folks. Maybe Monsters, but Ghosts were usually too involved in their own issues to calm down and have a listen.
