I imagined it being a bit more complicated then that, kinda like how Robin, Kid Flash, and Aqualad were handed their chips by Superboy in the TV show xp
I'm looking forward to seeing more of that show. I wasn't crazy about it at first but I really did enjoy it, and enjoy it more the more I think about it. Like the fight scene at the end...
Kid Flash: *Points to the skin in his hand* "I got your nose"
SPOILER ^^ love that scene!

It'd be a bit more complicated, yeah, but I don't think he'd attack them. In the show he was, like, programmed to attack them. Here it's more like he's just woken up to find strangers in his bedroom.

Maybe, but then he was effectively raised by Lex Luthor who is the biggest metaphobe (scared of metahumans) in existence, he could easily have imprinted that hatred onto his 'son.' It could be another level to the character too, a sort of self hatred.

I think that's exaggerating Luthor's importance in his upbringing. Luthor really didn't have any part in forming who Match is. He only placed his own programming on top of what was already done by the scientists. It's a way to control Match, but that's all. Match isn't a son - he is a weapon, a tool, and it's Luthor's programming that made him that way.
The scientists made a person, and Luthor made that person into a weapon, so what he does is going to be seperate from who he is. When he first wakes up, there's only Match.
Of course, he won't have memories of using his powers or even having them. He will be aware that he has powers and their nature, but that's a really base thing, deep down. It's like... something that's his own, like reality is to us. And all his years of experience will be like a dream that he remembers when he wakes up. Inside the dream he has no awareness of anything but the dream, but the instant he wakes up he'll be aware that it wasn't real.
Maybe... MAYBE this will cause him such anguish that he will kick the a** of everything in sight.
But only if that's what you want.

Well, in the comic story line, Superboy had some of Luthor written into his DNA, and Match was a clone of Superboy. Therefore it makes sense that if Luthor makes a Superman clone in this universe he's going to put a little of himself into it. wink
Well at the moment, this ''arc'' seems to be a collection of short stories xd

Are you implying that metaphobia is genetic? XP
Yeah, Match has some Luthor in there. It's the way Luthor will control him.
But remember: he has even more Superman.

Yes, of course, that's exactly how Superman controls him.
I don't even know how Luthor did it. I just assume there's some kind of device like a controller or a console that we can smash up, someone can deprogram Match offscreen when the arcs done, and that way we don't have to worry about far-reaching consequences. I don't want him to somehow become the focus of every arc, cuz that's silly.

Maybe like Superman: Doomsday, how had a bomb in his head that he actually managed to bore out using heat-vision, cause that made so much sense. eek

I don't even know. The important thing is that this is going to have a beginning and it's going to have an end, and all this stuff is just going to be happening on the side and ending as quickly and efficiently as possible, while tying all appropriate loose ends, because I do NOT want there to be too much time for everyone to actually think about what's going on.
:: You know, all your arguments have really made me think.
It might make sense if Match were to have some pre-disposition toward bigotry. But rather than against metahumans, it would make more sense if it were directed against EVERYONE ELSE. Since Luthor is human, naturally he identifies with humanity against metahumans, but since Match is a metahuman it would be far different.
It would be such poetic justice if Luthor created the weapon that led to his downfall.

Yoshimitsu Kujo Maybe like Superman: Doomsday, how had a bomb in his head that he actually managed to bore out using heat-vision, cause that made so much sense. eek Hah, I love that scene. He just walks into a shop, looks into a mirror, and plucks out the sphere. Kryptonite covered in lead, wasn't it?

Character development is always fun.
Match is so open, everytime we talk about him he changes.
The idea is so awesome though. He's totally gonna be a ladykiller.
He'll put coal in your stocking because you've been a NAUGHTY GIRL! But look again... that coal is now DIAMONDS!
