Jack looked back at the Doctor feeling ashamed and angry at the same time.
"Don't you think I know that?!" he snapped, "Yes, I know what we did was wrong, it was more than wrong but there were lots of things that had priority, namely Daleks, and Cybermen, and renegade Time Lords and..."
Jack looked away. "I won't make excuses Doctor, but if you recall, you're the one who said you didn't want any more companions. I respected that, but that also meant there was no way to hide Aven, no way to take her away."

The Doctor sighed "Yes, I know I said that but I could of at least taken her to a place with her level of intellect." he said as he ran his hand through his hair while thinking.

"No offense Doc but you're not an easy man to find..." Jack said with a frown, "but... I mean, if you two traveled then it's okay now right. All we gotta do is go up to her lab you can take her with you to whenever..."
He trailed off noticing the Doctor's worried expression.
"Er... she is upstairs right?"

"Do i look like I know everything!" he snapped. Then she calmed down and sighed "She went rogue. They'll have her locked up for day's now."

Jack winced at the Doctor's yelling.
"Gone rogue? How can she have gone rogue they keep her thought patterns monitored," he asked in disbelief, "her NeuralNet is five times stronger than what they used on me she can't just disobey a command... can she Doctor?"
This was bad, and while the Doctor might have an inkling of how dire the situation was, Jack knew exactly what Gavant did with rouge experiments.
"We've got to find her before..." he trailed off, "we've got to about half an hour."

"I'm not sure what happened but we can just go in without a plan." he said while pacing back and forth.
[will jack ever figure out it was the Doctor who kissed him? XD ]

Jack frowned but noticed a terminal nearby and began attempting to hack into it. He then paused and looked up.
"I taste bananas... that's odd... I haven't eaten a banana since..." he then glanced at the Doctor with a strange look in his eyes, "Did you...?"

The moment Aven awoke all she could feel was pain and ice. Her green-blue eyes opened dazedly to see her father and the two Execs looming over her. She was on a metal table, her wrists and ankles were locked into place by heavy leather straps. Everything was coated beneath a layer of pain, it even hurt to think.
"You're awake," Gavant stated coolly as he approached, "maybe now you can tell me why you did that."
Aven stared at him unable to process what she was being asked.
"Tell me Aven, why did you damage yourself?" the older man asked sternly. "You came down here, against regulations, and aimed a weapon at me. I demand to know why!"
"You were hurting him..." she replied in a faint voice.
"Jack? You were worried about Jack?" he asked puzzled but then realized that wasn't it at all... "No, not Jack...You were worried about the Doctor."
The CEO's face twisted into an angry scowl. Without warning he struck Aven across the face. The blow shook Aven to her core, she'd never been struck before not even as a child.
"I gave you everything, I GAVE YOU LIFE! And this is how you repay my kindness?! By betraying me to the first idiot that saunters into your lab?!" he raised his fist once more.
"That's enough Daniel!" a voice boomed there in the doorway stood a tall sinewy man about the same age as the CEO.
"Abram, it's about time you got here," Gavant replied.
"Alyssa is in Norway, she won't be coming. Now get out and take your lackeys with you," the scientist ordered.
"Dr. Joules if you think I'm simply going to slink away you've got another thing coming. Aven has broken protocol, you assured me this would never happen. Just look at the damage she has done to herself!"
"We will repair her, just leave and let me do my job."
After moment's delay, the CEO turned towards the door. "I will be upstairs awaiting your report."
Once he was gone the scientist turned to the girl on the metal table. His brown eyes were kind and gentle.
"Oh Aven, what have they done to you now?" he sighed cupping her bloodied face in his hand. "Why did you do this to yourself? You knew it would damage your mind."
Aven stared at her creator with pain in her pale eyes.
"He saved me... when it was dark..." she replied, "had to protect him... help him escape..."
"And he left you here," Abram frowned, "he left you with your father."
"I told him to go... he is safe now... I'm glad..."
Abram Joules sighed as he grabbed a seat next to the metal table.
"You're a better person than I, Aven."

The Doctor looked over at Jack. "Let's get back on topic shall we?" he said while starting to help Jack hack into the machine.

Jack's eyes became the size of saucers.
"YOU DID!" he pointed at him as if he were accusing him of something, "of course! It all makes sense now! That's how you deactivated the collar!"
For some reason he couldn't stop smiling. The Doctor had given him a kiss of life... and he was SUCH a good kisser. "You owe me a drink."

The Doctor ruffled his hair again. "Jack it meant nothing! Don't get any ideas! It was just a boost to get your brain circits going!"

Jack coughed in an attempt to hide his smile.
"Right, absolutely nothing..." he smirked as he continued rewiring the terminal, "gotta admit though, it's a nice way to be woken up... AND we have visual!"
The screen flickered and showed the security camera footage in Aven's room. She was strapped to a metal table, wires and sensors were attached to her body as a scientist began preparing a set of surgical tools.
"Oh... that's not good..."

The Doctor was super embarrassed as Jack went on. He then looked at the screen "No no no no, they can't do that. They'll only hurt her more." he said while now running down the hallway.

Jack looked at the the screen for a moment longer before running after the Doctor.
"Doctor wait!" he called out, "Do you even know where that room is?"
He desperately prayed the Doctor had a plan, as it was things were looking hopeless.

Aven felt Dr. Jouled place a clear plastic mask over her nose and mouth. A sweet smelling gas filled her lungs.
"This will only hurt a moment, dear," he said his eyes filled with regret as he placed a metal circlet on her forehead.
The pain sharpened acutely and Aven strained against the straps. It felt as if her head were being split open. She wanted to cry and scream for help but she knew no one would come. It hurts... it hurts please stop... stop... help me... someone help me....
"DOCTOR!" her agonizing scream filled the room and made Dr. Joules give a start. He immediately shut down the machine and rushed to Aven's side studying her eyes with a light.

The Doctor heard a murmur of his scream and followed that sound as he ran down the corridors. "Keep up Jack!" he yelled behind him while running.
