"Come one Arielle! please!" Kedrick begged playfully, reaching over to bump her shoulder. " I'll even feed the poor hungry fridge so you can make it sometime." He said a smile touching the corner of his lips. He took a bite of his food as he waited of Arielle's reply. He could sort of figure it might be some goofy comment about their starving refrigerator, but He always was curious to hear what Arielle had to say. In some ways, she reminded him of his one sister, Athena. Athena was always very positive about thing, and always knew exactly what Kedrick needed to cheer him up, or take him mind off of something that was bothering him.

"You're fridge is...starving?" Maria asked in a surprised manner.
Arielle grinned and giggled, "Fine, fine. Alright. But you better keep to your promise, Kedrick," She turned to Maria and her grandparents and laughed, "It's this ongoing joke Kedrick and I have about the fridge at his place. It's always running out of food."

Kedrick snorted softly with laughter "yeah, Hence the reason I need Arielle's help to keep everything in line." He said with a meaningful smile in Arielle's direction. "I'd probably starve if she didn't remind me to fill the fridge once in a while." With a satisfied sigh, Kedrick leaned back in his chair. "That was wonderful..." he said softly, looking down at his empty plate, his stomach comfortably full.
((and my stomach uncomfortably empty T^T ))

"I can totally understand that," Arielle's grandfather said with a small grin, "But it's basically about everything."
Arielle's grandmother nodded, "Always about the kitchen, and the bathroom, and the living room, and the backyard. I have to say Arielle, you're lucky that Kedrick just forgets about the fridge."
"Is that really a good thing grandma?" Arielle asked with a light giggle.
"Well, it my case, it does," her grandmother responded with a grin.

Kedrick felt slightly embarrassed as they talked about forgetting things. He had almost always had a very bad memory, it was constant ammunition for his older sister to tease him about. Some times, he remembered ruefully, she'd even drag some of his other younger sisters into harassing him. He sighed, Kedrick had forgotten how much he missed his family, after all, he hadn't seen much of them in the past two years. Kedrick quickly shook the thoughts away and turned his mind back to the current events that where unfolding in Mr. and Mrs. Field's kitchen. He smirked at Arielle. "I'm not that bad am I?" he asked

"Of course not," Arielle said with a small smile, "You know I'm just joking. I have a tendency to forget things too. But, we're always going to make mistakes."
"Would you kids like any deserts?" Arielle's grandfather asked as he picked up the dishes and headed to the kitchen.
Arielle looked at Maria who only nodded before answering, "I believe we have enough time. Maria and I would like desert. How about you Kedrick?"

Kedrick smiled at Mr. Fields. "you don't have to twist my leg, I'd love some dessert." He said, his mouth already watering at the thought of the delicious cake they had eaten on their last visit to Mr. and Mrs. Fields home. He glanced briefly up at the clock, noting the time before leaning over to Arielle. "my lady," He said with a deep, mock bow. "I do hate to be the hare-bringer of bad news, but please remember that when the clock strikes seven, your carriage turns into pumpkin." He said, trying to look serious about the whole fairy-tale business, But a smile lingered on the corners of his lips.

Arielle's grandfather smiled and nodded as he entered the kitchen. The sound of cupboard doors opening and closing. Her grandmother excused herself from the table, saying she would get them all some milk.
Arielle seemed to have spaced out until she heard Kedrick's voice. She blinked in surprise and looked at him. A smile formed on her face and she giggled, "Thanks for the reminder. But I have faith that we'll make it in time."
As soon as she had said that, her grandfather came in with a plate of worm pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and her grandmother brought small glasses of milk for them to enjoy,
"Help yourselves," her grandfather said with a bright smile.

Kedrick's eyes widened slightly and he breathed a sigh of bliss. "Those look wonderful...." he said, seeming completely captivated by the scene before him. He picked up one of the heavenly looking cookies and took a ginger bite. "mhmmm..." he moaned softly in pleasure, making a big ham of himself as he did so. He opened his eyes, swallowing quickly before smiling at Arielle, I almost forgot what amazing cooks your grandparents are, but the cookie just reminded me. He said playfully

"I'm glad they did," Arielle said with a giggle as she picked up a cookie and took a bite. The taste made her smile and she obviously wish she ate more of these all the time.
"These are definitely fantastic. Thanks so much," Maria said with a smile.
Arielle nodded and smiled at her grandparents, "We'll definitely have to take some with us. You think Dimitri would like one?" She turned to Kedrick as she asked that, a curious look on her face.

Kedrick looked up from his second cookie. "hm?" he asked, trying to pull together his thoughts, they had been solely focused on the cookie. "yeah, I'm..I'm sure he'd love one." he said, felling slightly embarrassed at spacing out like that. He smiled awkwardly, but his thoughts drifted to Dimitri at the mention of his name. an unsettling worry rose in the pit of his stomach again, it was concern her couldn't put words too. He shook his head briefly, not wanting them too see his worried expression. Kedrick glanced behind Arielle's head at the clock, realizing that ever since he had gotten the concerning call from Dimitri, he had been more and more anxious to get there, There where a few questions he wanted to ask Dimitri.

"Then I'll definitely put these in a container," Arielle's grandmother said as she returned back to the kitchen.
Maria continued helping herself to the cookies as she waited and Arielle looked at Kedrick. Why did she feel like there was something wrong with him at that moment? Maybe she was just imagining things.
As her grandmother came back and began placing the cookies in the plastic container, Arielle looked at the time and noticed that they really needed to leave. She stood up and smiled at her grandparents.
"Thanks again for having us over, but it's close to the time that we need to leave," she smiled and gave a kiss on her grandmother's cheek and hugged her grandfather.
"Yes, thanks so much," Maria added gratefully with a smile.

Kedrick smiled, standing up from his chair. He walked over to stand beside Arielle and Maria, "Good night Mr. and Mrs. Fields, thanks for having me over...again," he added sheepishly. He glanced up at the clock again, "well my fair ladies, Your carriage to the royal ball awaits you." he said, opening the door for them with a flourish, gesturing grandly to the car. Kedrick steppe out to the car, opening door to the back seat for the girls before hopping into the front seat. "everything okay back there?" he asked. "ready to go?"

Arielle and Maria nodded and waved their goodbyes to Arielle's grandparents as they followed Kedrick to the car. Maria carried the cookies and Arielle only continued waving goodbye to her grandparents.
They entered the car, after thanking Kedrick, and strapped themselves in. When Kedrick asked if they were ready, they both nodded.
"I'm so excited!" Maria exclaimed happily with a grin.
"Yeah, me too," Arielle said as she stared out the window with a daydream look in her eyes.

Kedrick smiled at turned his attention to the wheel, he was fairly confidant he could get to Arielle's school without getting lost. "okay, lets go then." he said, shifting the car into gear and pulling out of Mr. and Mrs. Field's driveway. Kedrick scanned the roads for landmarks he remembered and followed then to the school. "here we go," he said, pulling into the large parking lot, which was littered with other cars. He found a parking place and maneuvered the car into it. Kedrick stepped out of his car, an unexpected gust of chilly wind sending shivers up his spine. He paused to rub his arms briefly, feeling the scratchy material of the jacket on his arms, before turning to get the car door for the girls.
