Libby

Libby grunted half-heartedly as Seth left the room for the second time, the key staring back at her. Did he really think that a guilt trip would work on her? She grabbed the key and tied it onto a piece of string to hang on her neck. There was no point in continuing her slow destruction of his door locks. The jacket found itself on her shoulders before left the room to find the roaring motorcycle downstairs.

"Hey Seth, I think - ," she began but was cut off by Van and Angel's sudden appearances. As was expected, Angel took her place behind Seth on Raithsurne and wrapped her arms around him, keeping a fearful eye out for the demon. What, did she expect her to gut her like a fish right there on the spot? "Don't flatter yourself, b***h."

"Oh, come on," Van interrupted, pulling his car around by Seth, "Those are harsh words, even for you. Hey man, are you ready for this?" He opened the door for Libby, looking her over and his eyes stopping for a second on the dangling key before returning to Seth. "The guys are already at the track, setting up. Let's move." He looked at Libby again and sighed rather loudly as she got in, slamming the door.

"You know, I don't usually do pity dates."

Libby eyed him with a nearly muderous look in her eyes. "Good because I don't usually do pitiful donations." With that, she looked out on Van's side at Angel, getting a bit too comfortable. "Come on, Seth, let's get out of here."

Vincent

Vincent noticed the lack of response from Aimee and realized that could be a problem if there was ever a real problem and the jewel didn't catch it in time. Oh well he would just have to actively ping her from time to time. He realized Lilly was talking about something he had experience and couldn't refute her. ******** Atlantians, no wonder he destroyed that whole ******** continent.

"Your stating that the relative is easily changed. How many people would it take to make a utopia, ten, hundred, thousand million. To attain a Utopian society the current civilization would have to pass through the harshest dictatorship in human history." They stopped at a bench and Vincent sat, knowing it would be normal for humans to do so, he on the other hand could walk for decades.

"So there would be a massive genocide of those who don't want the new order, unless you could alter perception. A mind altering drug easily spread and constant." The Romans had tried to do that a long time ago. Distributed through the aqueducts of old, instead the entire city of Pompeii became a cesspool of harlotry. They had begged him to destroy the city, he didn't a sibling did though.

Seth

Seth could see the dangerous look in Libby's eye and enjoyed it, there was something there and she didn't want to admit it, good. He gave Angel the helmet and she already had a leather jacket on.

His helmet had a built in headset, the Angel was wearing did as well and Van's car was wired with the same frequencies. His unofficial team were usually in contact, seeing as Seth helped them keep b averages.

"Let's get the hell out there. Hang on Angel." He didn't here her respond as he hit the throttle and Raithsburne roared its enthusiasm. She screamed though and it hurt his ears, he was sure Libby would laugh. Seth showed Angel no sympathy keeping the throttle wide and riding recklessly through traffic, honking horns and squealing tires, then more meant Van was just behind him.

They made the track with ten minutes to spare, Angel shaking visibly as she got off the bike. Seth chuckled and she glared daggers at him.

"Told you I loved speed didn't I. My second greatest passion behind History." The rest of Van's crew jumped all over the bike and began refilling every fluid on it, stripping non-essentials off and pressurizing the tanks.

((Yeah it was awesome, finished it last night, now I'm on to Mezzo.))

Lilly joined Vincent on the bench, sitting close enough to him that their thighs touched, but not close enough that it would seem improper. She shook her head.

"Not necessarily; just a radical shift in view points. Take Huxley's Brave New World. A main-stream society could survive like that. With the test-tube babies, and moral conditioning, I mean. Not severely crippling the advance of technology, although I can see why you would want to, certainly. But really. Who says you can't have a better human?"

Her grin was wide, honest, and heartfelt; her teeth were almost too white, in the growing dusk and she had a gap between her front two teeth. Rather then being a flaw in her, it was...endearing. Lilly dropped a hand to Vincent's thigh. Low, of course, but it was still on the thigh. She was teasing him, playing with him. Aimee wouldn't mind, no not at all. She knows I'd never do anything to hurt her.

Libby

Libby kept the chitchat between her and Van to a minimum, keeping a feeler out for Seth as he was in front of them. To say the least, it was rather pleasing to her eyes to see Angel squirming and hanging on for dear life. She had to wonder if her master had driven especially like that on purpose. Van managed to keep up with them and soon, both vehicles pulled onto the grounds.

"Well, we're here," Van said, parking accordingly and rushing over to help his partners.

"Thank you, Mr. Announcer," Libby mumbled, getting out of the car for herself. The beep of being locked sounded and she made her way down to Seth and Angel. The demon caught the human girl's reaction to Seth's driving and chuckled to herself. "He's the same way with me so don't worry about it." This did not help much. Libby tried to give a damn and gave it another shot. "Um, would you like to hang out with me by the track? We can cheer Seth on and all the cute riders."

Angel eyed her apprehensively before turning her head to face Seth, as if asking for permission. The demon take this too well. "Oh come one, why don't you? He'll be fine." She lead her further up by the fences and a group of guys looked over at them instantly. The pair parked themselves in the midst of things and Libby took the offers for paid drinks as they came. Angel refused them though. How strange.

Alexandria

Her eyes turned sad again but it wasn't from being broken hearted but with what her said. She looked away from him looking down as she shrugged her shoulders "Nothing" she said "I didn't have any goals or dreams for when I grew up because I had to grow up quickly to survive and at that point that had been my goal was surviving" she told him truthfully.

Vincent

Test tube babies, Huxley, Brave New World. Vincent was out of depth here and he was going to have to shift the conversation before the jig was up. He only knew about Da Vinci's attempt at fertilizing a woman without intercourse, but was in the world was a test tube baby.

"Yes that is possible, but there would still be massive war, famine, and plague before this new radical view is implemented. The human species would barely survive, so a radical new view would be the only thing that would bring it back from the brink. With nuclear weapons the chances of this happening would be close to nill, seeing as one country could say no and blow the place to nothingness. Not like we have a Hitler of our time who could talk us into to it, like he convinced the German people into slaughtering millions." Vincent noticed her hand and left it there, leaning back and stretching his arms out. When he brought them down one was across her shoulders, his hand hanging near her full breast.

"Why are we talking about this craziness anyways, there is a perfect sky out with an even more perfect moon." He gazed up and he looked sad for a moment. There she was the one person he had loved at one point. He didn't know how long ago, but a demon of immense power had left the planet to keep the moon from falling out of the sky. His Luna.

"The tides will swell tonight, thirty percent chance of a tsunami off the East Asia coast line, close to the Middle Kingdom." He accidently used the name of old China given by Britain and the other European countries.

Seth

Seth gazed over the three mile track of smooth asphalt. He was zoning out as he prepared himself for the race. They finished and with a sigh he settled on Raithsburne, the engine idling lowly, a beast ready to pounce. Five other bikes rolled to a stop and then Sally walked past collecting payment, Seth fished out the pink slip to the beast underneath him and she looked surprised, "The bikes worth more than the entry fee."

"All I got Sal. Take it, and just have my money waiting." She nodded and walked away, stashing everything in one of the cups of her massive bra. She was hot, but taken and Seth only saw her as a friend. He began revving the engine, flames spewing from the tailpipe. A gorgeous model took a whole and lifted her arms. It was time to go. Seth looked right and saw Angel and then Libby. His heart raised at the thought of Libs watching over him, he re focused, the model's arms dropped and Raithsburne roared its approval as the front wheel lifted briefly and then they were gone. He wasn't in the lead, but a simple push of a button changed that, then another secured the victory. It was over in a minute, the crowd roared trying beat Raithsburne as he did a victory lap, the bike raised up on one wheel, but there was a piece of metal in his path, the bike jumped and he lost his balance, "s**t."

Vassili

Vassili was saddened by this. Something horrible must have happen to her at a young age to only wish to survive. Now she was aimless and that was more dangerous than anything you could threaten with. She had nothing to lose, nothing to live for. He would have to change that, and soon.

"Well then what do you want to do now, what do you want out of life right now, in this moment." Start small and work our way up. Keep her safe and happy and motivated. It was a mantra that began to recycle through his mind.

Alexandria

She looked back up at him and then she thought about his question. She breathed out for a minute and then shrugged "I don't really know" she said. Alex's future wasn't something that ever looked bright, she never finished high school and therefore wouldn't be able to go to college. Thinking about that she then said "I would like to at least get my G.E.D from high school so I could at least say I graduated from that" she told him.

Libby

Libby had been out on the track before Raithsurne had even reared up, the bracelet calling out to her as a warning. The demon ignored the shouts from the sidelines and crew members who were now jumping the fence. They would not get to him in time. She plucked Seth off the bike as if he weighed nothing but fell down nonetheless while his motorcycle took on an awful crash into the fence. Unfortunately, the jewelry did not extend its power to one's prized possessions. Uncomfortably, Libby had her master in her lap and was trying to soothe his nerves.

"I'm so sorry," she whispered against him. People were finally crowding around, Angel's face standing out from the middle. Van and the crew were already by the bike, swearing at the damage. "I'm sorry," she repeated again, pulling him to his feet.

"Hey, are you two alright?" It was the girl who had been speaking to him before the race.

"He's fine," Libby nearly growled at her and everybody else who asked the same question. She called Angel over and the threesome made their way over to the crew, only to be intercepted by the official ambulance on standby. She was about to growl literally at them but glanced at Seth, leaning him on her and thought better of it. "Just do the checkup here please."

Aimee

Again, Lilly shook her head.

"Not necessarily. Chaos would be perfect for it, but it's not a requirement. Plenty of people would trade off so called 'freedom' for the safety of something else. And Hitler was probably the only politician in history to follow through with his promises."

She gave him a moderately impressed look.

"Not only are you a philosopher surfer boy, but you're also a weather channel buff? Quite an odd combination. Why'd you call China the Middle Kingdom?"

Yes, the little vegetarian wasn't as dumb she looked, or even pretended. Lilly settled against the warmth of Vincent's shoulder and arms; she followed his gaze up to the moon.

Vassili

Vassili smiled when she answered. At least she could think past the heart break. One step at a time. "Okay then, I'll help you study and then you can take the test." He kissed her neck lightly again and shut the water off just as it began to chill.

"I'll join you in a moment." He kissed her neck one last time pushing her gently from the shower and then turning it back on, it was ice cold, but he didn't feel it at all. His mind was racing over how he was going to kill that man. Vassili choose the most direct path.

Seth

Seth was barely there, his mind out of his body as he tried to comprehend what had happened. He had seen his life flash by in seconds, a jumble of sound and light. Then he was floating, the sound of metal on concrete loud. When the paramedic started to examine him Seth came back.

"Let go, what happen to Raithsburne, where's my bike." The crowd was writhing to see if Seth was okay, and when they heard him roar they parted to show the mangled beast on the ground.

"No, that isn't my bike where is my bike." Seth didn't know who took his helmet off and wished he had it now. Tears began to well up in the corner of his eyes and he turned away from the wreck, Libby and Angel were close to him, Angel looked scared, Libs looked furious. He wanted to be comforted by Libby, but he knew she wouldn't so he staggered into Angel's arms and hid his face. Sally walked up with his helmet and all the money inside.

"Twelve thousand dollars kid, three pink slips on top of that. Each bike's worth four grand. So another twelve. Still doesn't cover the cost of Raithsburne."

"Thanks Sal." He took the helmet and used Angel as a support as he walked over to Van's Monte Carlo.

"What happened, I had perfect control of the bike."

Vincent

Vincent had been caught, but he could recover. He knew there were old psychological books written by the Chinese, and they referred to themselves as the Middle Kingdom, once they had learned of the outside world.

"I studied in China for three years, old texts there referred to the Middle Kingdom. Once the Chinese found out there were other places around them, they realized they were in the middle. Also they lie in the middle of the zodiac." He chuckled as he ruffled his hair.

"When you live on the beach for ten years you learn some neat things, how to read the moon, the waves, the tide. I can't tell if it is going to rain, or snow, but I can tell you when high and low tide is."
