"It's alright Crysella, I know we both know the real reason you'd crawl into my bed....I'm clean. Possibly the cleanest person in the entirety of the murk...which means I smell, wonderful."
He was kidding around, but it was probably true that he was the cleanest person around!

  Crysella laughed and shook her head. "Oh you'll get dirty soon enough." she said in a tone that could either be taken as a sexual innuendo or the truth. "Then you won't have any room to talk." she teased back, "Besides, I slept just fine without your warmth before." she raised an eyebrow, though it was still clear she was just playing.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------Tod reared back at her dirty comment. "Are you trying to seduce me?" He sounded aghast. "Me, a young, innocent, terribly attractive teenager?" He looked around then right at her. "Why I never."
Tod then smirked as she continued to mess with him.
"Sure, but that was before you had a taste of my warmth. Tod is like a drug, once you have a little, you need more....Tod is also speaking in third person, so watch out."

Crysella grinned and rolled her eyes "When I'm trying to seduce you, you'll know it." she teased back and looked back to the caves entrance, the rain was gone. She reached over to Tod and grabbed his arm, pulling him out of the cave and into the dim sunshine of the murk. "Look." she commanded, as the wet soaked landscape spread out before them. She pointed in a direction to the east of the cave, "That is where we are heading."

And suddenly everything stopped and he was being pulled to the mouth of the cave. NO MORE RAIN! Tod felt like jumping for joy! He hated the rain! That was just what he had figured out.
"There?" He said looking over Crysella's finger. "Well, now I'm nervous." He didn't know why it had just rushed him like this? He hadn't had a care in the world two minutes ago, but now he was worried.
Would they like him? Would they trust him? That was the important one. If they didn't trust him, things weren't going to go down well.

Crysella shrugged, "You should be." at least his instincts were in the right place. She would be nervous too in his position. "Come on, before the beasts realize it stopped raining too." she tugged his arm, taking off at a brisk jog, the shadow of Simba occasionally passing over their heads.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------"What kind of answer is that? You're supposed to say 'Don't worry Tod, there's no reason to be nervous.'" He looked at her like she was an idiot then stumbled after her once she started to pick up the pace.
The beasts? Tod couldn't believe these murkians hadn't figured out how to deal with the monstrous population. Wouldn't that be like, survival 101? Figure out how to ensure the monsters would bother you?

Crysella kept jogging, calling behind her "What's the point in lying to you, I'd be nervous in your position too." she said, yeah because Tod's usefulness rested with how much people trusted him. And because he was from the Empire, that level was probably going to start below zero.
She shook her head and sighed as she ran, getting closer to the place where her house lay. She was relieved to see that the storm hadn't blown it away and it had stood relatively strong, only missing a few patches of roof and part of a wall.

He saw her "house" up ahead. What a poor structure! Tod just wanted to attack it with duct tape it was so sad!
"Well, there's no place like home." He said with the tone that wasn't all sincere.

Crysella shook her head 'Nope, I'm not trained in the art of deception." lie.
She stopped jogging as she reached her house and smiled at the run down little shack, ignoring Tod's comment. She liked her house. "Well, come on then Tod, time to get a taste of what life in the Murk is all about." she handed him a bucket and with her other one she began picking up debris from the ground that could be used later.

Wait murk work? Ughhhhhhh. But this was what he had signed up for so he should at least get used to it! Tod was prissy, but he was still a boy so this rummaging through trash wasn't that disgusting..or boring.
Tod bent down and slouched over to get a better looked at what was on the floor.
"I can usually tell when someone is lying....call that part of my 'training'."

"Alright then," she said "You don't lie to me and I won't lie to you." how did that sound then? Pretty fair deal she thought.
"Who's the new grunt?" she heard a voice say from her right, "Hello Trey, I was going to come see you once we picked up here. I have someone everyone is going to want to meet." she still didn't look up.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------"Alright alright...but if you've got feminine issues, it's okay to lie about them...or whatever." Yeah because Tod didn't know all of what femininity entailed so he wasn't about to impose on that side of her.
And then there was a man's voice! And wait, this was the mysterious Trey character!? Oh know Tod wasn't mentally prepared enough for this! Was this life threatening!? Tod was a boy but he was more of a Zac Efron smile and look pretty kind of guy! He couldn't do s**t! He hadn't been trained in combat, he had been trained to be charming and...Zac Efron like!
Crysella may have stayed eyes to the ground but Tod was looking! He was scanning, he was raping trees with his eyes. If something was coming he was going to know about it!

Crysella finally looked up as Trey's gaze focused in on Tod. "Why would everyone want to meet him?" he asked, walking up to Crysella and giving her a quick kiss, one that could even be mistaken as just friends if you didn't know better. "Information." she said firmly and Trey shrugged. "Alright, I just came down to see if you needed help." He was still surveying Tod, his arm still around Crysella as if showing the fact she hadn't dislodged it proved something to the boy. Must be a guy thing.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------What a lot of people didn't know about Tod, was that he was competitive. He didn't have to always win, but he never went down without a fight. And the fact that this Trey character was making a clear, obnoxious statement, really flipped the switch exposing Tod's competitive nature.
The Empire boy raised and eyebrow and looked between Trey and Crysella with a look that said he clearly wasn't impressed...and that he was afraid of Trey in the least.
Sure Trey could probably beat him up, but Tod knew, and had seen things, that were probably more important to the resistance than Trey's existence could ever be. That was just reality! Tod was an important person and to impressive Crysella, his new found mission, he would act as such...but not be a douche because that never worked with girls.
He didn't have to be afraid of everyone because they NEEDED him.
Or so Tod would tell himself in order to boost his ego.
