Roland stood there waiting for a response, and then he placed a hand on Hrothbert.
He seemed to mutter something fast. Then the sorcerer glowed.
It was an advanced version of Farskon's healing spell.
"Ignorance is bliss,"Roland, said as if to answer Emma for Hrothbert.

Emma opened her mouth to say something and shut it again, thinking better of her words.
"Thank you, sir." the nobles replied in unison.
"What happened?" Emma snapped, whirling back on her husband.
"An overenthusiastic sentry, nothing more."
"You were bleeding out and you didn't even bother to tell me! And don't say you didn't want to upset me, you-you-hero!"
"Only you could make that sound like an insult."

Meanwhile, Scribbler sensed the slight lull in the conversation, sneaking away to obtain a bit of spare parchment and a quill. A tiny replica of the plans spilled onto the whiteness, and she stared at it, trying to make sense of the battle plans. Wanting to give the nobles space, of course...and unwilling to mess up the situation any further.

"Secret," Roland muttered, and the ink spilled off of the paper.
Farskon, sighed."Uuh sorry, so uh....Roland? Do you know why we're Paladins?"
"To eliminate, the dark ones in the name of Jesus Christ,"Roland, muttered, and once again sounded as if he was forced to recite it.
"No that's not it,...nevermind," Farskon mumbled.
Roland looked around, and then charged off."Battle, battle is now!" He shouted to the halls as he ran off.
"Wait!" Farskon cried out, and ran after him.

Scribbler shrugged. There was still a copy in her head...not that she understood it. It just felt good to let the ink flow again. She took it back up with a finger and rose, running after the armoured man as well.
Hopefully the anti-magic would wear off once they got near to the battlefield.

The nobles finally came back to earth and turned, following Scribbler and Farkson after the Original.
The bickering went on mentally.

After about an hour of walking, they arrived at the area of conflict.
Legions of Roman soliders where marching forward.
Valeto, was on one edge of the entire army, and an obscured third Original was in the center of the entire army.
On the other edge Roland positioned himself.'
Catapults were being rolled in the front.

"Another battle?"
"So it would seem."
"I thought-"
"No."

Most definitely not done here, no.
Scribbler still held the quill, though it did not seem the anti-magic field had lifted. She didn't try, in any case, instead focusing on staying out of the way.
Inexorably, the soldiers marched on, siege machines leading the way. The banners flew high, tossed by the wind.
Something felt awfully wrong about this, and the inkmancer could not tell what.

A Darkling legion appeared, magic appeared, but almost instantly they all exploded into silver light.
The Romans cheered, and marched onward.
"We best catch up with them," Farskon told the others.
Another enemy legion appeared, but it was human, the leader called. "Freedom for magic!"
"Kill the traitors!" Shouted a Roman officer. The army raised it's bronze shields, and charged into the opposing human army.

"For the love of all things holy..." Emma descended into a string of curses that would make even a sailor blush.
"Let's get this done." Hrothbert replied, taking her arm and guiding her into the fray, both of their hands resting on daggers.

The surroundings exploded into chaos as the two factions met, clashing steel ringing out above the screams of the wounded and dying. There was no time to think, to plan...not when there were twentysomething sharp edges and bludgeons aiming to maim all around.
The inkmancer suddenly felt glad for her small size, for she found it much easier to duck below broadsword swings and polearm jabs. It was hard to tell which faction was which; the near-constant spray of crimson blurred the line.
More than once, Scribbler had to get creative with the quill, sorely wishing for a better weapon.
[Of course, if this is too early just tell me and I'll edit into something else.]

A Darkling mage appeared, and blasted a portion of the Roman army away. One of the paladins moved in to disable his magic, but he already put up very strong wards.

((Editing.))
The mage raised his hands again, power rushing forth-
And was met with twin daggers in his chest. Emma on one side, Hrothbert on the other.
They withdrew their steel and continued the fight, never leaving the other's side.
It looked as if they were dancing, in a way.

Scribbler snatched up the blade half of a broken spear and hurled it at the mage, adrenaline steadying her hand. It sailed through the air, flying straight and true...and buried itself squarely in the mage's gut.
The previous owner wouldn't be needing it anymore...and Scribbler fought on, using the shaft half as a broken staff.
