Passura reaches down and picks up Mara shaking his head. "You guys are very lucky you didn't break your necks." he tells her, rubbing her ears. He looks up and smiles thinly. "I bet you haven't eaten either... " he says directly to Kero.

Em's head comes up. "Yeah... it was Bez's turn to cook today... is he about done?"

Em nods and leads the way back down to the cub's home. With him carrying Ari and Passura carrying Mara, they move rather quickly, far faster than when Kero came up in any respect.

At the cave entrance Em calls out to Bez, to see if he's done.

The dark haired man comes forth, with a tired worn expression and nods. "Yeah... I'm done, but the biscuits got burnt on the bottom. Hope ye don't mind shaving that part off." he replies taking Ari from him and giving her a hug. He reaches over and scratches Mara's ears and sighs.
Girls, don't you ever... ever do something like that again... promise?"

The two look at him and their heads bob in unison. "Yesh, Daddy... whispers Ari licking his chin.

Bez's reply is an exaggerated shrug. "I wouldn't begin to know why, except that Tam would have my hide if I punished them like that. I don't think Em has spanked them either. Come to think of it, I don't think they even know what it is. Maybe that's why they didn't react. Truth is, Kero... I would think having you say you were even considering something like that would have gotten a bigger rise out of them if they had known what it was, than if they didn't."

Bez smiles at him. "And I can't tell you how much it pleases me to hear you say such a thing. The more protectors they have the better. They are the first of their kind... in more ways than one.... One might say they are the only ones of their kind, though I have heard of half breeds between some of my lower brothers and other life forms. I have no idea what or how they will grow up... how long it will take to raise them or even if they ever will grow up... some of my kin never have. All I do know is that if certain indiviudals knew of their existence... we'd be in serious trouble trying to fight them off."

Bez smiles and cocks his head back towards the kitchen. "We better get in there before they eat it all. Em is a bottomless pit and the girls aren't much better... how's the little snake?"

"We're doomed..." groans Bez feigning alarm. "Now I know nothing is left."

Bez chuckles softly and lifts a fork in salute. "I bet that made them think for a bit." he says wryly, digging into his food.

After a bit he lifts his head and looks at Kero with a shrewd twist of a smile. "Kero... give me yer best guess scenario... would ye? I know ye really can't say anything solid, but... what will they be like... the girls I mean... Right now they are kind of locked into the shape of a cub but that's not how they were born... I haven't seen any signs of wings, but I know at least Ari has shown signs of having them... but they... they don't glow... not like... well... not like us."
