"Say Boss!" Xenon didn't bother to look up as Mokutan floated down beside him. What do ya think that we should do after your done with all this stuff huh? Do ya wanna pick up something to eat? Cause I was really in the mood for some of Rima's Ramen ya know?"
Xenon gave a slight grin. "I suppose there's no harm in that. Certainly. I suppose it would be improper to complete this task without so much as a celebration of any sort."
"Yeah yeah, now your talking chief." the bird ruffled his feathers slightly as he looked around. "Huh, it's pretty quiet around here today huh? I guess Raine and Kimi-tan are off training elsewhere." he scoffed. "I 'd think they were off actually relaxing, but hells if I believe that. Their just as much workaholics as you Chief. Though I guess ya know when to take a break every once and while...not like Chicken Hawk, I don't think those Tekkenseisai know how to relax if he's any indication...then again, they can't be all that sain either eh? Who makes Raine your Clan Leader?"

Xenon continued to work on the seal theory, understanding it, and yet at same time being in no particular hurry. He was quite satisfied in his ability to seal up through objects at least a person and half larger than himself, and that was all he required for now. Sealing whole buildings and massive war contraptions could wait for another day.
"I actually thought he was rather suited to the task." Xenon noted casually. "He certainly has the disposition of the ideal Tekkenseisai, and his skill with their kekke genkai is hard to match...or do YOU perhaps think you could seriously hurt him with conventional weaponry?"
Mokutan cleared his throat. "Well, no, but you know what I mean. Sure Raine's a tough kid, no doubt, but when I think prodigal clan leader, he ain't in the picture, see what I'm saying?"
Xenon smirked. "I suppose you've a point. But he is a Genius in his own right, I doubt their's anyone his age who knows as much about taijutsu as he does, and as for the nuances of running a clan, I think he'll probably warm up to them fast enough."

Mokutan chuckled. "Tch, yeah right, I can totally see Chicken hawk settling some kind of dispute." the bird fell into an uncanny impression of the boy. "You go over there and sit in the corner, you shut up, and the rest of you stop whining or I'll beat the heck out of ya!" the crow then fell back into chuckles. "Truly his clan has a golden age before it." the bird cawed in amusement while Xenon merely shook his head.
"While I won't go so far as to say you're mistaken, I think you underestimate our fist fighting friend. He's actually rather adept at getting people to listen to him when he puts his mind to it."
Mokutan shrugged. "Eh, maybe. Still thinks it's hysterical." he picked at a twig that seemed stuck in his feathers. "Say, you reckon Sanako's makin those cinnamon rolls of hers today? Cause I mean, if she is, it's been a while since we visited Kimiko's... just saying."
Xenon raised an eyebrow with his usual knowing smile. "Are you capable of not thinking about food for any real space of time?"
Mokutan blinked. "Now when you say real space of time, are we talkin like...five minutes?"

Xenon's eyes traced the seal, expecting it, as though seeking it's details for some minute detail that would seem trivial to the untrained eye. He wondered if he couldn't almost fit any size of object within the scroll, while his understanding was not quite there just yet...with a little bit more work he just might be able to...
He shrugged off the thought for now, logging it away for a later time. For now, as he'd decided, human sized objects were all he really needed to fuss with.
The winds that made it through the thicket of trees were resulting a calm breeze that didn't even have the strength to ruffle the scrolls he was working with, yet just enough to keep the feel of fresh air constant within the wooded area. Mokutan it seemed had become rather fascinated with the sorts of things one could do with the art of sealing...
"So you could like...keep a bed in one or something...or a sandwich." the black feathered bird turned his head slightly. "Say, could you seal away like...other people and stuff?"

Xenon unsealed the contents for what seemed the twentieth time. "Not unless, like our friends here," he gestured to the two preserved bodies he'd leaned against the tree. "They are decidedly lacking a pulse. Because the delicate nature of chakra in the sealing process, sealing anything with it's own chakra would be extremely difficult. You could do it certainly, but not with the rudimentary, methods I'm using, it would take a master. I'm not sure any such masters even still exist in this day and age."
Mokutan nodded. "Right, to bad that ol' snake in the grass didn't leave his humble village some scrolls on the subject eh? Wasn't he supposed to be pretty slick with seals?"
Xenon nodded. "Indeed, but then, he was "slick" as you put it with most everything. Despite his maddness, there's no denying he was a genius...although..." he smiled slightly. "It's my personal opinion he seemed rather restrained by his own preconceptions..."

Xenon continued his smug grin. "As I said, I admit his genius, indeed I almost admire it, his madness aside, but what I mean, is that his way of thinking was flawed, and it crippled him before he even left the gate." His bird tilted his head the other direction, and he elaborated. "What I mean is, that he seemed bent on taking from the past, upon taking what others knew. Stealing knowledge, rather than building upon his own. Even his greatest Jutsu, the Impure world resurrection, was actually that of the Second Hokage. He died seeking the sharingan, which was something he only wanted so he could take the Jutsu of others...when he himself could have surpassed them all...eventually. Even his solution to death, in the end, was merely taking the body of another, rather than solving death itself. Had he truly applied himself, who knows what his mind might have yielded...indeed, we might not know him as the devil of Oto at all."

Mokutan chuckled "Heh, yeah, can you imagine that? Orochimaru, the champion and hero of Rice, founder of Oto, and all around nice guy." He burst into laughter. "Ah man, that'd be rich."
Xenon adjusted his glasses. "Or perhaps, more likely, the immortal Dark Lord Orochimaru, first and only Kage of Oto." Mokutan stopped laughing.
"Eh?"
Xenon shrugged. "Well, keep in mind if he hadn't been killed, he would still be alive today, if the notes we saw on his immortality Jutsu hold true, well...he would likely STILL be Kage of Oto...and this would be a very different Country."
Mokutan looked a little thoughtful at the prospect. "Heh, I'd never really thought of a human that could live as long a summon spirit...or longer. Man...Humans actually have the potential to become much stronger than spirits ya know, and a hell of a lot quicker than them too... a human that could live that long... shoot..."
Xenon nodded a slight confirm. "Yes...They'd be unstoppable. In the end it was his lack of patience that killed Orochimaru... Ironic really. On his road to avoid death, he met it earlier than he might have otherwise... I suppose man really does meet his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it."

Xenon seemed satisfied with something, slipping the senbon back up his sleeves as he removed several larger objects from his coat pockets, unfurling the scrolls yet again as he looked about at them. "That should do...now to increase the size a bit..."
Mokutan snorted. "That's what she said."
Xenon looked at him slightly exasperated. "You really are incorrigible my friend, need I remind you that you're supposed to be older then I am?"
Mokutan ruffled his feathers in amusement. "Heh, hey boss, I'll have you know I act my age. You're just too mature for your own good."
Xenon raised an eyebrow incredulously "Is that so?"
"Yeah, yeah," the bird assured. "it's only your great since of humor that's kept from keeling over on account of stress, you believe me. You probably have the mental age of my grandpa, and keep in mind, that's saying ALOT. he's like 500+ or some thing ya know."
Xenon gave a small smile. "I honestly don't know whether to take that as a compliment or not."
"Eh, bit of both I guess."

Xenon adjusted his glasses again, his eyes casting off slightly in one direction, towards the tree line. Mokutan didn't seem bothered, he was currently going on about how ridiculous the word anachronistic sounded, and seemed quite content to ignore the rest of the world while doing so. Xenon though, didn't really seem all that bothered either, because his gaze returned to his work rather hastily, unconcern almost palpable in the air around him.
He seemed to go right back to working on his sealing method, indeed he didn't even break form as he, faster than most could see, tossed a single Senbon into the nearby bushes.
"OW ZAM!" Xenon didn't even bother looking as a girl tumbled from the foliage rather unceremoniously, smashing face first into the ground.
Mokutan seemed to be the only one to react at all, and even the bird seemed unsurprised. His only response being a blank stare and curt. "Yo, Yuki-tan, what's up?"
The girl, still face down on the ground, gave a very muffled "Not much, zam."

Yukimaru was quite possibly the most bizaare ninja, kunoichi or otherwise, that Xenon Maboroshi could recall meeting, and considering his track record of odd Ninja, this was really quite saying a lot. He trade mark of ending her sentences with "Zam" was really just the beginning, her odd hyper active blandness truly what set her part. This seemed an oxy moron at first, Xenon admitted, but when one was incredibly hyper active and yet never broke from a bland monotonous daze while doing so, it was really the only proper description he could think of.
He'd not really known her very well until he returned from his training trip a year ago, the odd girl having apparently become friends with Kimiko in that time he was away. Oddly enough, she'd also become friends with two other of Xenon's friendly aquaintences in that time...on the same mission no less.
While he was quite sure Lord Kasuke wasn't the kind to play practical jokes, particularly on Xenon, it really was suspcious sometimes...
At any rate, Yukimaru had come to hang out many a time at their training ground looking for Kimiko, coming to see her as some sort of Senpai. Xenon sealed away yet another object, not even bothering to look as the girl picked herself up off the ground.

"I bow to your superior abilities Maboroshi-senpai, you are truly a demon worthy of lore, zam." her odd way of complimenting people was a bit strange as well. He tone completely listless, she continued "Might I ask how I was detected zam?"
Xenon unsealed the same object, his face almost bored. "Your bow was sticking out of the bush." Mokutan burst into laughter, while Yukimaru merely sunk to her knee's in apparent shame, her emotionless facade never breaking.
"I am scum...I do not deserve to live, zam..."
"Now, now," Xenon assured. "You shouldn't be too hard on yourself, after all, Kimiko isn't that stealthy, and she's a brilliant kunoichi. Chin up." his rather drawl tone as he said this might have off set it for most, but Yukimaru seemed once more filled with hope...even if you couldn't see it in her face.
"Of course, you are correct Maboroshi-senpai, I am won over by your manliness and smooth anti-hero demeanor."
Xenon didn't seem to have heard her at all, while Mokutan merely shook his head at the girl. "It's like she's from a another planet or something."
Yukimaru tilted her head "A planet of what, zam?"
"It's an express-" Mokutan was about to explain, but the girl proceeded.
"A planet of bunnies, zam? Because if I was, zam, they wouldn't be there anymore zam."
"Wh-"
"On account of me having killed them all horrifically, zam." he eyes shifted strangely "Not that I did... zam." The diminutive girl's bizarre daze seemed to make the statement something of a mix between funny...and horrifying.
Xenon though seemed to settle on funny, indeed he seemed to find the girl amusing most of the time, he gave a small entertained grin before asking. "Was there something we could help you with Yuki-san?"

"Indeed Maboroshi-senpai." the girl bowed stoically. "Is Kimiko-senpai here today?"
"I don't believe so," Xenon noted "I haven't seen her at any rate, though I have admittedly been rather busy. We have the day off today you know. You might try her house."
Yukimaru shook her head. "No, her mother informed me that she had gone elsewhere to train, zam."
Xenon seemed to pause and think for a moment. "Hm...you might have some luck in the fields outside of town...what is it you wanted to see her about?"
Yukimaru seemed to suddenly get a brilliant idea, though it was difficult to tell through he bizarre taciturnity. "Ah, but that's it Zam, I can merely ask you for help Maboroshi-senpai."
Xenon resealed an object. "I'll certainly help however I can," he noted absently. "But again, what is it you need help with?"
Yukimaru suddenly knelt, as though reporting before her lord. "I am trying to determine Kimiko-senpai's greatest fears, surely you, as her rival, would have such knowledge!"
Xenon blinked. Normally, one might inquire as to why Yuki-maru wanted this knowledge, or perhaps explain that that was private information not to be given out to just anyone. Xenon Maboroshi however, merely smiled smugly. "Of course, Walrus's and ghosts, she also dislikes broccoli and hates people who wear there head bands around their neck...very long story. At any rate if your trying to scare her into hysterics, go for the Walrus..." he seemed to be rather enjoying himself "Works every time."
Yukimaru's eyes seemed on fire with burning admiration, despite her face still staying unmoved. "Your sex appeal and wickedness truly woo me Maboroshi-senpai, I am honored that you would grant my request. I shall now leave you peace in a very dramatic fashion." true to form, the girl struck several ridiculous poses, before running off into the tree's.
Mokutan stayed silent for a few seconds. "...That girl scares me Chief...she really does. Why do you think she-"
"Mokutan, I'm quite sure I don't want to know."

Mokutan was picking at his feathers again, silence having returned to the clearing as Xenon resumed his sealing in peace. Xenon had a bad habit of being disturbed while training though, and wasn't expecting the peace to last long. After all, no matter where he trained, it seemed that his acquaintances always found him, and even if they didn't, some random passerby was sure to. Hopefully Yukimaru's interference would be the only interruption...but he wasn't counting on it. The day was still young after all.
"Say Boss?"
"Hm?" Xenon's eyes still never left his sealing, but the bird didn't really expect his full attention.
"You ever wonder what happened to that Kyojin guy?"
Xenon gave yet another knowing smile. "Hm, on occasion. I'm sure if he's still alive we'll meet him again, if we don't hear about him first. The World isn't so large as for Kyojin Kotei to be seen the last of while still drawing breath."
"Heh, ain't that the truth." Mokutan chuckled. "That guy really was the only dude to ever really give you a run for your money huh chief...aside from little miss Kimiko and Chicken Hawk I mean."
Xenon's smile widened by a margin. "I suppose that's true enough. Though keep in mind that his strength wasn't that uncommon in the wider scheme of things. Their are opponents out there that could defeat me without batting an eye."

Xenon gave a warm chuckle "Point made I suppose."
"Exactly." The raven bird confirmed. "how many other kids are fixing to take the freakin Jounin exams eh?"
Xenon sighed. "It's not unheard of you know, rare, but not unheard of. There are people who were far younger than I who have been promoted to Jounin."
"In war time." Mokutan pointed out "And the only other times I know of it happening is back in yonder days of yore chief. And in Kohnoha, of all places." the bird laughed.

Stage I: Chakra Control DC 17 Learn how to seal and unseal small items.
Stage II: Chakra Control DC 25 Learn how to seal and unseal medium items.
Stage III: Chakra Control DC 34 Learn how to seal and unseal larger items. It's starting to get a bit harder now to push the objects in.
Stage IV: Chakra Control DC 42 Learn how to seal and unseal large items. It now requires a lot of control or brute chakra force to seal the objects into the scroll.

Ah yes, the Hidden leaf, how the mighty had fallen. A prisoner in their own land, hated and feared by the people they'd once sworn to protect. It was a dire circumstance still in the Land of Fire, but then, from what he'd heard from..."friends" of his in their letters, the Daimyo was finally facing the downward spiral Xenon had predicted for him. Weakened though it was from it's days at the top, Kohnoha was still nowhere near defeated, nor even, from what Xenon had heard, beaten back. They had simply done nothing the last he'd heard...that was the problem.
The People of the land of Fire had begun to hate Shinobi because they felt Kohnoha abandoned them as the war engulfed their homes.
Xenon didn't know much about the current Hokage...but from what he'd seen of their decisions so far, he didn't count them among the wisest. Nor even the most noble, as Kasuke was. Their decision to hide in a gilded cage would haunt them for a Generation or more, Xenon was sure...people were slow to forget to forget such things.
