As I touched Runa, a surge of magical discharges surged throughout my body. The pain was escruciating, however I held onto her as long as possible. That is, until when it became so unbearable, I was sent flying backwards, landing upon my back.

Laying there, a blue-ish smoke rose from my being. A deep blue electrical current shot off from me, as well. It was the recoiling affects of the pendant at work. Whiling I lay there, I suddenly heard several quick shouts going back from them, and then suddenly...silence...

Sitting up, I looked back to them. Both were out cold. Runa frozen in a kneeling position, and Chan upon the ground with the pendant in his grasp. Walking over to him, I took my spear and carefully placed the tip around the strap and lifted it up over my head. I then took my remaining sleeve and tore it off, creating a net for it. I then placed it around the pendant and grabbed hold of the leather strap.

"This will do no more harm...for now..." With that, I carefully placed it within my satchel and closed it shut. "Now then..." A solemn look upon my face, I walked over to Runa first, checking her pulse. Though it was faint, there was still some life within her. I then went over and inspected Chan. He, too, had a faint pulse, but was also on the brink of death.

Carefully, I lifted both of them and placed them next to one another. Unsure on what to do, I took out my remaining cigarette and lit it. Breathing heavily inward, I sighed as I exhaled a cloud of smoke. My eyes were as if they were foggy pieces of glass. I had no idea on what to do. All I could do, was just move them to a safer place. But the question is...where is safe...?

Sitting there, I continued to breath deeply upon my cigarette was nothing, but the butt. I flicked it away, blowing a puff of smoke once more into the cloudy sky. I then moved over towards Runa; checking over her vitals once more.

"...Don't worry, Runa...If Chan--When Chan awakens, we will help you..." I placed a hand upon her forehead, moving the hair from her eyes. "...Just hang in there...Stay strong...for the both of us..."

Hearing her call out to me; I thought I had imagined it. But when I looked down, there she was. Though pain and exhaustion was distinctly on her face, I could tell she was still happy to see me.

Carefully, I caressed her face with the palm of my hand and smiled warmly back. Though I knew not on what to say, I just bent over and kissed her forehead lightly.

On the inside, I was dying. I felt useless; unable to protect her...Hell, most of the damage done to this poor woman was because of my own idiocy...I had to make sure that this would never happen again...To never allow this to happen...

"Runa, please...! Conserve your strength...You may need every last once of it..." I grasped her hand firmly, yet loose enough so I would not damage her in her weakened state.

My eyes...Though unreadable most of the time, I had this sorrowed look within them. Obviously, for Runa's condition, but I felt...unbelievably pathetic at this moment...I knew that I was self-conscious and all, however the guilt just became almost overwhelming.

"I can't let Runa see me like this...I must conceal myself to her...I need to be strong...for both of us..." As I rose from my feet, I turned my head away and grabbed hold of a small flask which fell from my person when I was shot away. Quickly, I untwisted the cap and rested the mouth of it against her lower lip. "Here...this will help you...It is some percentile of alcohol, however it does have some herbal mixture within it..." Easing the flask, I let a little at a time trinkle into her mouth.

**Still passed out**

Why did i give her the pendant it almost killed her, She might never wake up, what have i done? I should wake up but i cant im still weak from what happened on that stupid island. I need to wake up. Chan then opened his eyes, but he couldnt move his body was to weak, so he just laid there listening.

As the darkness stayed shrouding my mind in almost complete nothingness, I saw images flash before my eyes, some happy others sad. I saw my freinds, I saw my battles, I saw my scars, and lastly I saw my love. I knew this sleep was deep, and I longed for Kang...I longed to be held once more by him.

As these pictures flashed before my eyes I felt my strength growing at an increasingly fast pace. I didn't know if it was the part demon I was now or if it was the pictures that I saw and the longings of my heart. I would soon be able to wake up.

laying there Chan felt great energy, like he did when he changed into his ultimate form after being beaten and burned from the lycans. Chan then stood up and walked over to Runa seeing her there on the ground he shed a tear then went and sat down on a rock, knowing that it was his fault for this he should of never gave her the pendant.
