Riley ignored the wind that stirred the air, showing no trace of interest at the cresent moon.. her attention was focused on a vial in her hands, and the rich loomy soil she was steadily tiping into it. the earth hit the liquid inside and turned a pale, floresent purple.. pulsing softly the closer it came to the ground. finished with her task she sank back onto her haunchs, swirling the vial gently as her red eyes began to glow. " Beautiful.. Psyc truely is a genius."

Kirai entered into the graveyard silently, and jumped up onto an old crumbling mausoleum, sitting down and letting her legs hang over the edge. She glared, her eyes deep and dark, down at Riley. Obviously, Kirai was not exactly... pleased. "Rosette Andrea Grey, so that's my name, is it?" Despite the look in her eyes, her voice was so smooth it was almost uneasy, and so calm it was forced. "How did you discover about me what I did not know about myself, and what else do you know about me?"

" There is no longer any time to play with you, Rosette.." The voice was absent mindedly amused, Riley's back to Kirai as she gently started a second vial mixture. when that, too, was a glowing purple she placed one of the vials into her pocket smoothly.. standing to offer the second to Kirai over her shoulder. " If you wish for answers, you will do something for me."

Kirai caught the vial in the air and answered quickly, "Then tell me what you want me to accomplish. For as fun as it is to speak with you, I'd prefer we save time as well. So, name your price."

Kirai could not see her smile, sharp and cold as she took the bait. " Break that vial in the church of the mainlands." it was a natural toxin, lethal to those who it touched.. and able to be spread from contact. only humans.. and vampires.. would be effected, animals and those few that had Nature's blessing would be immune. If she did it.. she too would become poisoned.. giving her no choice but to accept Nature's offer.

((Sorry it took so long))

Kirai had a flash of Riley's thoughts, but not enough and not quick enough to catch all of it, not enough to catch anything about the goddesses or about her own impending doom. So people are going to die. ".....fine." Kirai stood up straight. "....I won't ask you what would happen if I 'accidentally' broke it here. If Avarice did not care for you, I would risk it." Saying that, Kirai jumped down. Brushing shoulder's with Riley, she walked past her, glaring coldly at her the entire time.

" .. And risk only yourself." Riley mused softly, unruffled at her temper. there was no reason to get offended, not with Kirai's fate comeing for her so soon after this moment.. and, in truth.. Riley had lost that self-serveing aggresiveness long ago. turning away she stroked the vial in her pocket.. whistling softly as she strolled towards the Mainlands downtown. it was time for a wide-ranged test..

The next night, Kirai wandered into the graveyard once more. Leaning against the crumbling statue of an angel, she waited patiently to see if Riley would show here.

"Thats a nice scar you got there." Came a cold voice from behind Kirai as the steel of a claw roughly tapped her neck. "Looks nice on you." He continued, moving to stand next to her. The mans head was shrouded by a blood red cloak which was covered in burn marks. He looked worn, as if he hadn't slept in days. The man fumbled in his pocket and grabbed a bottle of pills, popping one into his mouth and swallowing it gingerly. "You seem to be doing well."

Kirai didn't even turn her head, but her mouth twisted into a frown as a look of deep thought crossed her face, and her eyes shifted to looking at the ground. "Salazar... It's been a while, has it not?" Letting out a silent sigh, she lifted her head back up high and pushed her self gracefully away from the statue, standing perfectly upright as she then turned to face him. Kirai raised her pale and delicate hand to lower the hood from her head, and rested her hand against her neck. The look in her eyes was no longer empty; now, there was a real person living inside of them... What had once been a faint spark now was a small flame, still not complete, but very present. Her cold, sorrow-driven existence had changed dramatically since the last time she had encountered Salazar. Last time, he had tried to kill her. With dry humor, Kirai tilted her head and asked in a very monotone softened voice, "Might I ask... do you plan on attempting to 'burn the witch' again?"

"No." Salazar answered simply, scraping a bit of dried blood off his claw. "Just happened to be in the neighborhood, thought I'd check in on an old romantic interest. Tis all." Ah, romance...such an odd thing. Salazar absentmindedly patted the pistol he kept in his cloak. Jackie gave it to him of all people, and he never really felt like getting rid of it. "What are you doing here?"

"...I'm awaiting to meet up with Riley." Kirai said, moving her arms around her waist where she was holding herself. She shivered, although the outside did not feel cold to her. "I... no longer understand who is my enemy, and who is my friend. Perhaps someday, I'll have it figured out." For a second, although her facial expression did not change and nor did her tone of voice, the look in her eyes was like she was about to cry, but Kirai quickly killed away any subconscious temptation to do such a thing. "It tempts me... Now, to go back into seclusion, away from the world and everyone in it. If I was not constantly in debt with my life to others, I'd do so at the very split moment that opportunity came about." Her voice was not angry, and Kirai did not know why she was sharing all of this with him... Maybe because there was no one else in the world she felt she could share this with. No matter what her reasons, she didn't bother questioning her own words. They were the truth, and that's what mattered the most to her right now.

Now, however, her facial expression grew cold and she tensed. "I understand your wanting to kill me... I'm so weak, my life has never been my own. I can't tell you how much this existence sickens me, and how fond I am of you on all accounts! But I hate what I can't understand, and I've never been able to understand you!" Her voice raised and she turned away suddenly, tightly gripping the edge of a tombstone within reach, holding her face with her other hand and breathing in, and out. Trying to calm herself down, she had never had this much trouble controlling herself, in any situation.

Salazar shook his head and placed a hand on Kirai's shoulder. "I know it must be hard for you, sweet guy one day, homicidal maniac the next. But I've changed. I've got a hold on my mind. I've come here so that I may...well...apologize for my past actions. I want to take the full punishment for my crimes and most of all, I want you to forgive me." His voice was serious, this was no trick or ruse. This was the truth.

Kirai sensed... in shock, that he wasn't lying. Placing her hand over his on her shoulder, his hand felt warm. "I forgive you." She choked back tears. Again, why was she practically spilling her guts out to him? Why was she having so much trouble controlling herself. Because I don't want to control myself, I'm tired of having to think out what to feel, how to act, how to pretend... Now that I have feelings, I don't want to lie anymore. I don't want to hold back. "Salazar... how can I live a life that is not my own? I entered a contract, my life literally belongs to someone now... She saved me, and I'm glad to work for her and to be her faithful servant; it gives me work to be done. My life, I've never had a problem signing away... however, when it comes to owing my heart to anyone, even someone I already love, that I find much more difficult to accept." Kirai's hand was shaking as she struggled to say the words, words that before, she would of only dared to speak to her beloved friend Tessa, whom she missed dearly.

Salazar frowned and once again tapped at Kirai's neck. "I think you've already decided on your heart. Don't play at anything otherwise." Realizing his sharp tone, he grabbed another pill from the bottle and downed it with haste. Muttering something along the lines of "Only suckers OD." Somehow, it felt that when this subject arose, it was harder for the medication to work. "Tell me about this contract. What do you mean you signed your life away?"
