It took her so long to answer, and Landon couldn't be sure of anything. He didn't know if it was because she didn't want to confirm it, or because she didn't want to deny it meaning she had cheated on him. But... that... that just made more sense! Even if it hurt.... He couldn't really blame her too much. He was away at college... and even though he hadn't cheated on her, maybe she thought he had... or maybe someone else was just there for her more.
Or not.
She didn't say yes, but, her words, he couldn't doubt it now... Hayley... Hayley was his... his child, his... his little girl.
His mouth worked, but no sound came out as he heard her, it was... How, how could this have happened?
"Blame me? Blame me? I didn't know! You- you didn't tell me! You didn't even give me a choice! What is my career worth if I can't use it to support my own child!?"
He shook his head, taking another step back, because it hurt to see her so broken up, but he just, he was angry. And still in shock.
She was sobbing now and he didn't even realize it, but a couple tears streaked his face as well.
"I missed it, the most important, impressing, part of her childhood, and I, and she, will never get that back. You didn't just take my child away from me, you took her father away from her!" ouch.
He bit his lip, wanting to comfort her, yet, still, was so upset himself that he couldn't.
"I... I want to see her... I might never get that back, but, but... visits... something... When we're out of her, we... we can figure this out, but...." his voice was shaking. He felt almost instantly ashamed at how harshly he had spoken to her, but he was still angry with her, to a burning degree, and also... also... sad. Empty. He... he had missed it... But not anymore. He wouldn't let his child be taken from him now that he knew. He would be a part of her life.****************************************    As soon as forever is through

Stephanie looked up at him. Her heart clenched and her stomach flexed. She felt like she was going to throw up.
"I.. That wasn't my intentions Landon. Listen to me," But he was stepping away from her.
And his next sentence slapped her square across the face.
She felt the blow, the really low blow, and her knees gave out completely, she nearly missed the chair behind her.
But she scrambled to sit down. "I wasn't trying.. I mean.. I... I..." She hung her head, the lose curl falling over her face.
Her breathing was shallow. And if her stomach wasn't so empty, she would be heaving up its contents right now.
"You can see her. Whatever you want." She sniffled softly, still sobbing.
"Its.. I want you to be.. I'm sorry.." She muttered.
But when Stephanie looked up at him, seeing his beautiful eyes holding nothing but sadness she only felt worse.
She jumped to her feet, walking over to him. "I didn't mean for this to happen. I was trying to protect you. You have to understand that.." She reached out to touch his arm.
"I can't take it back. I can't fix it. I just thought this would be easier for you. I wanted to ... I just thought... It was all my fault. I didn't want you to suffer too."
Stephanie shook her head. "There's no excuse for what I've done. That I know.." She sighed, stepping backward, her heel caught in the crack and she fell back, landing flat on her a**.
But she didn't feel it, nor did she react to it. Stephanie sat there, and just cried. There was no stopping it anymre, she felt like s**t.

Landon looked away, because it hurt him even more to look at her, and how sad he had made her by his words. Even if they were true. It was just so hard to comprehend... How could she have really thought keeping it a secret would be better?
But yes. He wanted to see her. And he wanted Hayley to know she did have a father that cared, and that would be there for her. Play with her, love her... But he had missed so much! And not because he had to. Because Stephanie took her from him.
And yet. When she got back onto her feet and and reached out to him, he sort of raised his arm to meet her, still wanting to feel her touch, despite everything.
And yet...
She stopped back, and ended up falling back. Landon rushed over and when she didn't get back up, just sitting there, crying, he crouched down, and put his arms around her.
"Your right. You can't. And you were wrong." his voice was kinda of scratchy, holding back more tears, though his face was wet with them, eyes glistening with those as of yet unshed.
Landon squeezed her tighter, pulling her into his chest with one arm around her waist, the other around the back of her head, pressing her into him, and continued, trying not to choke, "But... What's done is done, I'm sorry. I shouldn't, I shouldn't have said those things to you, I'm just... I can't believe you didn't understand that I would have gladly, happily, been with you both, with you through it all." He laughed, sadly, and a little choked up now.
"Hell, we would probably be married by now!"
He shook his head, "I just, I dunno Steph, just, stop... stop crying, it hurts me too." Oh damn, was he really crying now too? Not sobbing, no, but it was more then just tears leaking their way through.**************************************** As soon as forever is through

Stephanie shoked on her coughs. She was embraced into his arms and her head smashed to is chest.
"Dammit. I know I was wrong.." She mumbled into his skin. Her tears not stopping, not even pausing.
He held her tighter, and she could hear the hurt in his voice. The pain she caused him by taking away his choice in the matter.
But he didn't ... He wasn't seeing it from her point of view! She had to do what she had to do at the time to save him.
He was going off to college to live his life. She was not going to be the one to hold him back from chasing his dreams.
"You had every ******** right to say what you said, and more Landon. I was wrong, I was stupid. But I was only trying to save you. And it just backfired and now everythings a mess."
She sniffed, trying to hold back more tears. But she failed miserably.
Good thing she hadn't worn makeup, she'd look even worse right now.
Stephanie stopped.
Breathing.
Choking.
Sobbing.
Everything.
And tilted her head to look up into that blue eyed guy holding her.
She clenched her jaw. "Dont.. don't say that.." She muttered softly. She didn't like hearing that they would have probably been married.
Because could that ever happen now? After everything that happened in the passed six years?
Stephanie closed her eyes. "I... I can't. I hurt you, more than ever.." She bit her bottom lip. "I don't wanna live with knowing that." But she felt him start to cry now too, full on.
Her body still entangled in his arms.
She leaned up to kiss his cheek. "I don't know what to do.." She said softly, her cheek resting against his.

Move along, move along like I know you do.. James had just started moving again, slowly, when Katy came up behind him. He definitely hadn't been expecting that, to have her arms wrap around his bare torso, so warm...
Was he that obvious? Even though he'd only stopped for a moment... or had it been longer?
Even more surprising was the rough German that followed, but nothign, more then what he was pretty damn sure she had said, despite it being in a language he only took back in high school.
He gave a shaky laugh. "Ich immer was schlecht in Deutch klasse" yeah that probably sucked bad too. Something along the lines of... I always was bad in German class? Yeah he was pretty sure he ******** that one up too, but it didn't matter.
Not if she said what he thought she said.
And though her could have simply asked for a translation to be sure instead of moving ahead and doing something he stupid. He went with instead with doing something stupid, potentially.
James twisted in her arms and wrapped his around her too, leaning down only a little, as needed, tilted his head to the side, and smoothly pressed his lips to hers.
Ok, so regardless of what she said, it didn't mean she was willing to give up on Landon yet, or that she wanted him back, or that this was ever going to go any further then this bungalo, but.... But he wanted her now, so bad. Stephanie didn't want him, she wanted blondie. And James loved Kaitlyn, never stopped.... and, and dammit, he let his mind go blank for once, savoring the brief moment before she either kissed him back or slapped him. ..And even when your hope is gone

Landon shook his head, but didn't say anything else on it. He really shouldn't have said that, it didn't make things any better, it only made her feel worse. And then he realized maybe a part of him had simply just been lashing out. Wanting to make her feel bad because he had felt so bad.
Dammit.
But now, now he just wanted to make it better.... even if he hadn't fully gotten over what she did. He couldn't, not so quickly.
He was surprised when she stopped though, and then he realized why. Wow, did he really say that? He had t think back. He probably wouldn't have let such a thing pass his lips if he was thinking straight, but... it.... it was probably true.
Stephanie kissed his cheeks as the tears fell, her soft, sweet, wet lips... that had been so pleasantly locked with his no more then 10 minutes ago.
Landon moved the hand back from her head and moved it around her a little more, enough t reach her opposite cheek, which he stroked gently.
"Steph..." he muttered, he leaned down and gently kissed her forehead.
"I... love Katy. I don't want to leave her." He kissed her cheek. "But... I... I love you too. I loved you first. That never went away. And I...." he was still so close from the other little kisses, a mere breath it took to kiss the corner of her mouth.
"I want you. I want us."
He felt horrible at the same time. For thinking of what it would be like, if he did dump Katy. She didn't deserve this, any of this. But he... Stephanie... and... and Hayley...
His lips hovered near hers, so close, his want so obvious.
"I don't know what to do" he whispered desperately.**************************************** As soon as forever is through

Stephanie leaned into him as his arm moved from her hair to around her. He had a better hold on her now. And then his fingers graced along her cheek gently.
To hear those three words, ending in Katy killed her. She felt her heart literally shatter in her chest for a moment.
Then his lips gently pressed to her cheek.
As he spoke, his mouth grew closer to hers.
"I don't want you to leave her because you feel like you have to because of Hayley."
Stephanie replied softly as her lips tingled. "I've never wanted anything more in my entire life. You make me, me Landon. Like I said, I'm not the same me without you."
Her voice hitched. His lips were right there, so sweet. She tilted her head forward, pressing her lips to his as she sat up a bit more, wrapping her arms around him too, and pulling him closer.
"I can't just let you go again, can't let you walk out of my life, again."
She swallowed, her lips still lingering on his.
"I love you. Always have and always will. Its taken me too long to realize it, but you're the one for me. You're my everything. My day, my smile, my laughter." Her lips tapped his.
"My tears, my heart, my soul. My life. My love."
Stephanie's nose gently brushed against his.
"It took me too damned long to say that." She mumbled softly, her lips moving on his.

Kaitlyn was able to laugh once. They were both bad, at least they knew enough to understand, somewhat. But what happened after surprised her.
She wasn't expecting him to turn around, well she was somewhat. But for him to wrap his arms around her and press his lips to hers, it was shocking. She didn't respond for a second. Her heart was beating fast and breaking at the same moment. She couldn't do this to Landon, but he had done so much worse to her. And she loved James, and this was really really tempting.
But she wasn't going to refuse him or push him away, she loved the feeling to much. With her eyelids slowly closing, she pressed into the kiss a little, responding after a few seconds of debating. Now she was kissing him back, her good arm leaving his waist so her hand can travel up his stomach and chest, feeling the texture of his skin against her palm before resting at his neck. The tip of her fingers going into his hair slightly.
She always knew of those bitter sweet moments, this had to be one of them. But still, she's always wanted to kiss him one last time since he left, who knew it would have been just a few years later she would kiss him.
But if she was going to kiss him, she was going to put in her all. And really kiss him. Her lips pried his open as the strongest muscle in the human body worked it's way forward into his mouth, touching the top of his teeth before meeting his own muscle. Yea, she was going to go all the way with this kiss, no holding back. The bottle in which she kept everything about James stored away shattered, everything came back. All the emotions, everything.

Hayley was a big part of this. But Stephanie... Landon wanted her so bad. He always had. And when she left him he was a wreck. Even his grades dived for a little while before he forced himself to work his way back up again.
And this conversation, everything now, it was the one they never got to have.
It was like he was being given another chance. If he didn't remind himself that doing this, was wronging Katy, which made him feel another pang of guilt shoot through his body.
But when he was so close, hearing those words from Stephanie's lips... He still felt the guilt, but the other feelings they forced to course through him, were stronger, which made him feel more guilty, but it didn't change anything.
Her kisses to his lips were so short, and he still felt that horrible hesitation, that had nothing to do with his feelings for her, and when she finished, her lips pressing to his again, he tilted his head down more, and held her tighter, his arms on her bare skin, since a bikini didn't cover much...
But the kiss was barely started when he jumped, looking back toward the gate as he heard it jingling, opening, and maybe it was just paranoia, but he pulled away immediately, though his arms still loosely held her.
"Well isn't that sweet. Your room is ready."
The guy from before.
"Don't forget your bracelets." He said, pointing back toward the table. Right... they were still in this stupid game.
Landon looked back at Stephanie, his eyes locking with hers for a brief second, before he let his arms fall and then pushed himself up, feeling instantly awkward, and all the more shame. Being caught like that. Even just by that guy.
This... that.... it... it was cheating. It was. And he hated that. And hated the people that did that, just as he hypocrites annoyed him so.
He didn't even know what to say, as he walked back over tot he table for the bracelets. Might as well.**************************************** As soon as forever is through

Stephanie felt Landon pull her to him tighter. Her heart was racing faster and faster. She moved her lips quicker on his.
Then he pulled back, much too son. And she was left staring blankly at him. Her eyes were wild. She looked over his face quickly but then his arms fell away from her.
She felt her heart sink with his movements. She was felt there, feeling like a fool.
Who was she kidding?
He may want to be there for Hayley, but being there for her and Hayley.. that was a joke.
He loved Katy.
Not her. These things were just because of shock.
Weakly, she stood and walked to grab her bracelet.
She slid it on, avoiding looking up at Landon as she walked towards the gate.
"Okay," She muttered, following the guys gaze on her body. Sure, he may be done with her at this point, but it didn't stop his wandering eyes.
Stephanie pulled her glasses down, forgetting about her cover up as she followed the buff guy across the concrete.
