but then how do you find the right person?

YOu need to get to know them somehow, right? I've done the whole "dating thing", which mostly amounts to hanging out, going to shows, or going to get drinks or something. Most of the time I end up with more friends and no long-term partner, but that's okay O.o I'm not ready to commit yet. I just like having someone along to chat with at the coffee house.

hmm....I think I do agree with you on that point- let me rephrase my opinion, as I think it's a bit misleading; sorry. sweatdrop

I don't believe in dating somebody simply for the sake of saying, "I went out with somebody." I don't believe in dating somebody for the sole purpose of physical contact or intimacy.

However, I do believe dating allows people to get to know others better, so you aren't stuck in some kind of a crazy marriage in the olden days where you don't really know the person you are marrying. Dating allows you to know if you want to see them more in the future, and if you could possibly become more in the future.

But I guess the point I'm trying to make is that people nowadays seem to misunderstand what they are doing; for example, I have a friend who claimed she loved a guy, but eventually, they broke up, and she ended up getting a new boyfriend a bit later. Most teenagers (including myself, so please don't think me hypocritical sweatdrop ) misuse the word "love" too much, and I guess I'm just against people trying to fool themselves that they are so much more then they are. We (as teenagers) have no idea what relationships really are, or what it means to actually be involved with somebody; I just don't particularly like randomly going out with guys based solely off physical attraction or just because it's fun to.

Anyway, this is all just my (extremely) uninformed opinion written on less then 6 hours of sleep, so feel free to disregard it; I truly don't mean to offend or insult anybody who thinks otherwise, and I apologize if this does. sweatdrop

see i think that's fine, as long as you aren't all over them. Or dating them just cause you found out they have a thing for you or get back at a person.. see i've done those realtionships. Dated dan cause i found out he liked me then I ended up liking him back cause he so nerdy and cute and i adored it then he crushed my heart. See that's what you get, then dating to get bakc at someone, yup dated paul to get back at his best friend matt who had paul dump me at homecomming for him. Yup.

Well, stay uninformed for now. Sorry for the unsolicited advice, but to all of you who are still in high school, wait till you graduate. Get to know yourself better, make sure you have really good strong friendships, and then start dating. I mean, all high school dating really amounts to is making sure you have a cute boy to take with you to the prom O.o (or girl ^^; ).

Which reminds me, the guy I was seeing ended up having a hair crisis, and I had to go over and help him fix it, instead of him coming to pick me up. I sure know how to pick 'em, don't I? sweatdrop

Well, when my hair is longer (not that long, to be honest sweatdrop )... When I wake up, sometimes my hair gets all funny and won't go back to normal unless I wet it and comb it xd .

xp I'm worse- I'm undecided on whether or not I want to grow out my bangs, so they keep getting into my eyes and never stay flat.

Plus, my hair is infernally wavy and somewhat long, so it's miserable when it's windy. blaugh
