I had just gotten out of the city i started thinking about ka-. . .who. . . I couldn't quite remember who i was just thinking about. I felt terribly heartbroken for a minute. As if the most important person in my life had been ripped away. I frowned dejectedly. Maybe i could ask Jairn or Jacques. I rubbed my head with one hand. Ugh. My head hurt terribly. I remembered someone. . . but no specifics. . . its like i remembered my whole journey with Jairn and Jacques but there was someone missing.

She lept in front of Jairn, "You are suppose to what?" He repeated himself, and she frowned.
"I'm sorry I can't let you do that, not with my help at least."
She pulled out her sword and per usual, hit him across the head with the blunt of it, enough to knock him out for a while. Hopefully she could find Jarlaxel before Jairn did. She moved his body into a dark ally and left, making Connor go faster, good thing Jacques was a little faster the normal humans..

I slowly woke up my vision was a bit messed up from getting whacked in the head, twice in two days, wow. I stood up and got up on the roofs, why would she think I would turn him in?" I started jogging onward but eventually found myself straight out running. Then I stopped, infront of me, right outside of the city gates, and Kahlan and Jacques, which group to meet up with first? Kahlan, defiantely kahlan was where I wanted to be right now. I made myself known th them and walked up, "I can see him on the other side of the bridge, I am not going to capture him for the money so dont hit me again! Ok? I'm just going to get him for the same reason you two are, ok?"

I look at him and smile, a wane smile, but humor was always a little good, even if someone had just committed himself to not knowing someone he had cared for. "I see I have gotten to you in a way. Going against them..." I reflect but turn back to Kahlan. "He knows Jairn and me, I am sure, we don't have your curse, but I am sure he won't exactly be too kind with us. I mean, we left him in a room filled with cops... Plan?"

I snorted, "Come on! Whats he gonna do to us? You took down he-man at the bar, I took down that fox guy, and Jarlaxle barely lived from the other one. He's smarter than to try anything aggressive don't you think? He fought me already, it was about even. So anyway Kahlan, how did you know he left the city?"

"You never know." I look at Kahlan. "He doesn't know? I am sure... maybe... You never told him?" I look back at Jairn. "Hee, maybe you should know, I mean, thats why I always travel with her, so I don't forget. Else, I am stuck with no teacher..."

i scratched my head, "Forget what? She never told me anything! I just kind of fell into this mess after I heard a fight at my favorite bar, thats yours by the way. I came in at the end, extracted jarlaxle, then he freaked out when he woke up and ran back over to the bar, then we got you two, then we went to that other place....then I killed the dragon.....then I got knocked unconscious...then we came back to the bar...I squished a tiny dragon... Vincent and his friend attacked....we went to the current hideout....Jarlaxle got left behind, and now we're looking for him! Thats about it."

"Right... I forgot, well, it ended up like this for me. I went to the bar after getting kicked out of my place, Kahlan gave me these awesome spiked knuckles, and then I went to Vincent's office, she came along for something, we fought together, she offered to teach me, then, well, we met Jarlaxle, and we fought, then you. You know the rest." I add quietly. "I wish I could be tayught already...." I look back up at Jairn. "Yep, thats about it. No wait, I had already fought with Vincent one more time, and then I went back to the bar, yeah...."

"Two questions, one, taught what? And two...why do you have to travel with her all the time? You kinda didn't say. Just that you you did it so you didn't forget. Forget her? how could you forget someone like her? I sure wont forget, I have the bruises, and most likely scars, to remind me."

I look at him. "She has a curse, it makes all who go out of a certain radius forget her. Even Vincent had forgotten, but he remembers now, I guess being a ghost does that... But what I do know, is that its for protection, should you go, it does happen, no matter what, even if she beats you I am guessing."

"Well..." I turned to Kahlan, "I'm sorry but I guess that means your stuck with me until the adventures over. Because im not leaving until things get back to normal...thats my duty as an assassin of the Fold, to keep this city in check amd make sure no fools mess it up, by botching an assassin or whatever may!" I blinked, "wait I wasn't supposed to say that...um...does that curse thing also come with a 'reveal peoples motives' benefit?"

She had stood by silently while Jacques explained what he knew, it wasn't everything.
"I can do whatever I want with you, as long as you go outside of 500 miles from me you will forget me. Basically, I can make that happen at anytime just by leaving the planet, but for obvious reasons I don't like to do that...Anyway, if you are curious let us find Jarlaxel, he will be proof enough."
She tilted her head, "Oh and I remember you asking how I knew he was out of the city? Well, when a person forgets me, I get this I dunno jolt, and while it isn't as intense as it would be for others I forget little details about them, as if I hadn't seen them for 20 years or something."

I watch him curiously. "You are more of a good guy then you think. Protecting the city, hehe, me 'n you have more in common then you think." I snort. "I guess we should continue looking for Jarlaxle. Hopefully, just maybe, I may be able to help him with his memory." I pull out the cross. "Vincent said it could be used to know what spells are being used." I hold it out for Kahlan. "I am guessing that goes for curses as well. Maybe, if we figure out what the spell is that is forcing the curse, maybe we could modify it for Jarlaxle, allowing him to remember?"

"Considering he must have already forgot by now, that won't really help. And I am not a good guy! I'm neutral! Assassin's that try to keep clean of the dirty never make it, trust me. I've had to kill them before. I don't like killing assassins. Feels like killing family..."

"I do think his memory is still there, just dormant. I think that if we were able to modify the curse, it would allow his memory to come back." I reflect. "Unless the curse itself actually hijacks the memories of whoever it affects, and then erases them, he may be unable to get them back. But I do think they are just suppressed".
