Deep Vermillion There's a movie-"version" of Dagon as well. Version is in quotes because it's more of a version of Shadow over Innsmouth. It's pretty bad, but there are some interesting details in it and if you can rent it (cheaply!), then you might want to do so. Just don't expect anything too good. xp Yeah, the SciFi channel was playing Dagon quite a bit a while back. I'll try to tune it next they air it. It looked quite....yeah. Wasn't too interested, myself.

All the spoilers for The Village (though they didn't spoil that much if you're familiar with M. Night's movies, but yeah xp ) have been whited out. Just highlight 'em if you wanna read 'em.

It starts out as ... Innsmouth, but then gets really weird. But like I said, if you're familiar with some of the stories, there are a few little interesting details in it. The actual movie obviously doesn't do any of the stories justice, though.

Ewww. I hate the Wheel of Time. You want a quick summarry? Three friends, One Rand Al'tor (or something) finds that he is able to weild the dark half of magic, the male half. Of course it was tainted long ago so he is doomed to go insane. His two friends go with him after a strange woman, an Ai'sedai (female magic user) and her warder come to collect him and make sure he doesn't destroy anything by not understanding the magic or the taint. Add some dark gods who are out to kill, three women for one guy, and an author living out his sexual fantasy through his series that never ends and you have the wheel of time. Personally I gave up after the ninth book. It progresses very slowly, and I think it is annoying as to how many separate stories are going on. It is nice in a way, but when you have to wait 200 plus pages to find out what happens to one of the characters it gets a little old. (I am horribly tilted, they aren't bad books, and I loved the first seven.)
As for The Village, I thought it was lovely. Now I may be easy to scare, but even knowing the beast was fake I almost caused my dear-heart to lose circulation in his arm. Heh... It was based off of a legend, right? It could have been real... The plot was obvious, but if you went to see it not for the horror aspect then it was good. (Most horror movies are pretty bad, in my opinion.) I liked the questions it raised. Was it right for those people to go out into the woods and do that to their children? Okay, must go downstairs.

More spoilers whited out. Highlight to read. Good movie or not, there are still those that don't want to be underwhelmed and disappointed until they're in the theater. domokun
Show some consideration to them. 3nodding

KijiLinn Interestingly enough, the video store I used to work at has the movie-version of Dagon. eek It never rented out. It was new on the shelves when I was working there a year and a half ago...and I never saw it go out once. xp Not surprising, considering they gave it the worst b-movie packaging since Ginger Snaps (which was actually good, by the way. 3nodding ).

I didn't think I gave anything away, sorry.
I liked Mat...but strong female characters? Yes, I suppose, but do you notice how all three of Rand's girls are constantly bending over backwards to get attention? Not strong, not strong at all. I wanted to kill all of them. And of course the Falcon girl is annoying as hell. I liked Perrin best, but now it has to be Matt because of her... Or that neat princess without hair.
But I still think Robert Jordan has some serious issues involving females. You know he put in all the see through clothing and weird chairs and spent pages describing them just because he's a pervert. xp I'm going to stop ranting now, sorry.

Faeri Dancer xd I liked it because it was so horrible personally. My expectations were too high, I think. Perhaps that also why I didn't think Alien vs Predator was the steaming pile of crap I thought it would be (don't get me wrong, it certainly wasn't good and didn't do the two base franchises, the comics or the games justice... But I thought it'd be even worse). Also, am I really the only one who thought the blind girl from The Village looked like Macauley Culkin? domokun

Lasreaine I didn't think I gave anything away, sorry. Well, even though it gave away about as much as saying that the Grand Canyon is rather large, it's still technically a spoiler, even if it's a really, really obvious one. xp But no worries.

It had no plot, horrible budget probably because it was a short step from home video, and kept showing lesbian sex for no reason.
