Beneath the earth Hanna was led to a small room, where the bright shape instructed her to sit. I have a gift for you, Waterchild. Close your eyes and see. Hanna did as she was bid, though she did not understand how she could see with her eyes closed. Oh, but then, then! Her eyelids flickered as images flashed before her eyes, images of long ago times...years back. Charlie, sitting with a red haired woman, the threads of magic around her fingers and the cruel set of a smile on her lips. Janette, the Sorceress, said the voice. Again, images flashed by her eyes, so quickly she could barely perceive them, but soon she knew the truth of Charlie's transformation, and her inner eyes opened wide. On the outside, she seemed to be meditating, her blue aura seeping into the air to mix and absorb the brighter light. Time skipped forward, and Hanna saw the events that transpired somewhere over her head, watched her true enemy, the sorceress in red, take Kallman away. More things, many things that she didn't understand poured into her, knowledge that came from beyond herself. At last she realized that she had no more time, and opened her eyes to stare at the Bright One. Shock flickered over her blue eyes as she realized she was staring...at herself. The other Hanna smiled and lifted a hand in farewell. Hurry, she said, and stepped forward. Hanna's aura blazed brilliantly as the other stepped into her, and those last words were repeated. Save them. Hanna stood and turned to look at the walls of dirt that surrounded her and felt the magic thrive wildly. What were mere walls of dirt to such as she? Hanna strode into them, walking through the solid earth as easily as if it were air, knowing she had little time, and began to run toward the Demon Hunter's Lair.

The bright spot that was Hanna Waterchild bloomed in Ferin's inner eye, shocking him. She blazed so brilliantly, brighter than ever before. It sent him running frantically in the opposite direction he had been heading, and though she hated him, he could not stand to stay away. He had not been able to face her after her brother's death, it was true, for he was ashamed. He had not been able to save Charlie from the Black Ward, as he had come to call the evil magician. Ferin had never seen him, but rather felt the inky presence in the distance, never able to catch him or trace him except by the destruction in his wake. Ferin burst through a clearing, the spot where Hanna had first become so brilliant in his mind, and stopped short, unable to believe what he had just glimpsed. The Magician turned slowly, facing the green-haired man in amazement. "Charlie?" he gasped. "You're alive?"

(Ferin and Charlie know each other, though it was very long ago, before Charlie was a plant. Charlie has no idea about Hanna's anger, or what transpired between them, so he thinks it is an impossible coincidence seeing Ferin. )
The dungeon was dark and smelled foul, as though it had never been washed. The two Demons were chained to the walls, speaking softly so that any guards might not hear. Hanna did not understand what they said. It was foreign to her. She stepped into the cell between the two, emanating so brightly blue that the dungeon was lit with it. She was wild now, another creature. Her skin was a deep shade of blue, her clothes where green and growing things that denied all explanation. Her hair was shot through with vines and leaves, and the powerful, dangerous aura of a hunting beast spilled from her like something tangible. She sensed their shock, but did not know what they said. Her senses were wild now, but she turned to face Kallman, her eyes blue disks that blazed with light. She was far beyond words, but pointed to the door with a spear that seemed to come from nowhere. His mouth gaped open and the flicker of fear crossed his face. What was she?! She stared at Kallman with her terrifying blue eyes as though she could see into his very soul...and perhaps she did. The ghosts of irises bloomed in her eyes and she reached out to touch his hand gently, and it was as if she had spoken his name.

A shock hit Ferin's senses so hard that he reeled back before Charlie had a chance to speak and fell to one knee. The sudden brilliance of Hanna's aura hit his magical senses like a physical blow and he almost couldn't shake off the daze it left behind. "Hanna," he gasped.

:: Kallman and his little brother were free but who freed them. Was it Hanna? Kallman and Kai quickly fled from the hunters and ran to the forest without looking back. Kallman and Kai sat at Daceria's tree. Kai looked at him:: "Brother who in the heck was that?"
"Kai that was a friend of mine by the name of Hanna. Something is not right but I don't know what. All I know is I'm so glad to have you back little brother." ::Kallman cried as he embraced Kai. In the very far distance Hanna could sense they were safe.::

"Ferin?" asked Charlie. Ferin nodded::
"Where is my sister and how do I run?" asked Charlie who was finally able to walk again.::

Hanna faded into the earth, but she did not leave. After hours that seemed only moments, the one who had been sent to guard the cell came in. Again, his human words were lost upon her. She asked the cell door to close while he was inside, and it swung in, the lock clicking softly. She asked the air to muffle his cries, and it was as if a blanket had fallen over his face. That was when she left, for she was no longer needed there. She flowed onward, upward, through the walls of the fortress and out, traveling through the earth as though it were water. Very briefly she felt a twinge of power in the roots of an ancient oak, and glimpsed a bright light, but she was not searching for it, and went away. The Waterchild sensed that Kallman's escape had been discovered, and sensed that the forces of the hunters were gathering. She knew that Kallman and Kai could not run far enough, that her brother was not safe, that Ferin was not strong enough for the battle ahead. The hunters were coming.

"I-I'm not sure," Ferin replied. "But she is so bright! It's like the sun is shining in my head! Come on, we have to find her!" Knowing that they could not slow down for anything, Ferin rubbed his thumb and forefinger together and a tiny golden spark leaped from them and into Charlie's legs. "You can run now. Come on!" They chased after Hanna's bright aura almost blindly. Sometimes Ferin would stop suddenly and mutter "she's moving" under his breath." "If we can see her, can't everyone else?" Charlie asked. "No," the Magician replied. "I can only see her because of how close we once were. I knew her better than anyone, but even I can only see her when she is blue, and if it hadn't been for the years I spent with her people, I wouldn't know that either." He paused, frowning. "But it shouldn't be possible for her to be so bright," he murmured, pressing on. They charged onward through the trees and ran right into Kallman and Kai.

"Master it is you and who is that?" asked Charlie. Kallman looked at him suprised to see him and the stranger with him.::
"Charlie who is your friend?" asked Kallman.
"He says his name's Ferin and he knows where to find my sister." Charlie happily replied not sensing the danger ahead of them. Charlie had no clue of his sister's powers but Charlie wanted to embrace her like he had done so long ago. He wished he hadn't left the clan foolishly searching for her when she was already there hidden beneath his eyes and his heart.::

"What do you mean Kai and Kallman escaped?" demanded Kedro to Keri.
"Sorry sir but yes they are gone. Shall I send the hunters after them?" asked Keri.
"No, I myself will take the strongest hunters to them and I will kill Kallman and Kai. There is no need to keep them around. I will take Daceria and Forest whether they like it or not. Hahahaha!"

Hanna understood what was to happen. Kallman and the others faced a terrible danger...but not just from the hunters, for Janette did not follow Kedro's orders. And she was much more powerful than he would give her credit for...

::Jannette kidnapped her sister Keri and they were off to kill Charlie and Kallman.:: "So sister help me don't help that fool all he wants is sex he doesn't love you." ::explained Jannette to Keri who was bound by handcuffs.
"Hmm.. I only listen to Kedro. You'll have to do it yourself." ::Keri said looking away. Truth is she was right that was all Kedro wanted of her. He loved Daceria not her.

Suddenly Kallman recognized the magician and started forward. "You!" he snarled. Ferin stared at him hard. "You--you were in the cave. With Hanna." "I could've killed you for what you did. I should have," Kallman growled. "I don't know what happened, all right? Hanna Waterchild has been nearly immune to magic all of her life. It shouldn't have affected her any more than a pretty picture." "She said she should've killed you," Kallman replied, advancing. Ferin blanched and stepped back a pace, still trying to understand why she said it. His gaze settled on Charlie and he gasped. "Dragon's teeth," he whispered in horror. "She thinks--she thought--" She thinks I killed him... "Spit it out," grumbled Kallman. "Hanna--oh Hanna, I would never!" Ferin shouted at the trees, spinning away. "These last ten years I have searched for his killer!"

"Hmm.. so you say your not the one that turned Charlie into a plant?" asked Kallman.
"No it wasn't me. I swear," bowed Ferrin. "We have to find Hanna and explain to her...but first we must find his killer."
"This much is true but we don't even know where to start. Charlie do you remember who made you like this?" questioned Kallman.
"All I can remember is it was a lady not a man. Other than that I'm clueless." Kallman thought wow this would be harder than he thought it would have been.

"The Ward is a woman?" Ferin exclaimed. He gaped, then closed his mouth thoughtfully, the oh dangit expression visible in his eyes. "That explains a lot," he finally said. "A whole lot."
The sound of marching feet cut off further conversation. Hunters poured in at one end of the clearing and Kallman's group turned to run.
