Serenity nodded at her father's question, though at Gaunt's touch on her back she felt a little better anyways.
"I'll be fine," she whispered softly, turning her head slightly towards him. "It will be over soon ..."
Her stomach cramped suddenly, and she fell to her hands and knees, gasping now for air. Then she felt the familiar stretching sensation, and she closed her eyes and held her breath until it was all over.
Elnara leaned forward in her seat, but she didn't dare get up - Hana would be cranky if she was woken from her sleep. But her eyes were not worried ... her expression was proud. This would be Serenity's last growth ... she was an adult now, a full grown woman. She would answer Gaunt's questions after Serenity was ready.

Gaunt could do nothing but there for Serenity as she went through her growth, but he really didn't know anything about it. Perhaps Prince went through something like that when he grew into a Child, but Gaunt might have easily passed it off as something like the flu, and it was pure coincidence that it happened around the time he was growing. He really didn't know much about Seconds, and these sort of things made it painfully obvious.
Prince looked on with a pained and worried look on his face, shuffling uneasily and fidgeting with his fingers. "Dad? Is she going to be okay?"
Gaunt managed to drag his eyes off Serenity to try to give Prince a comforting smile. "Yeah. I'm sure Serenity will be fine. We just need to give her some time." In light, he wasn't sure he was right. He looked toward Lore, in hopes that he said the right thing.

Lore nodded, "Just give it a moment, Serenity has always had the more difficult growths out of all of the children."
Well Celebor as far as he could tell had the easiest, most of the time he didn't seem to even notice when he grew. Which was an interesting obvservation.
"Some don't even realize, and others it's a large adjustment."

"I wouldn't know," Ian pouted from where he was sitting on the floor, playing with his infant uncle. "I'm even littler than them, and they're just babies!"
Elnara smiled softly at her grandson. "Give it time," she murmured softly. "Maybe someday you'll grow big and strong. Remember, you had a harder time than most. Besides, your aunt and uncle will be a year old soon enough, and they've been growing like weeds since they were born. They grow differently than you, that's all."
Which was all the comfort she could offer, since she knew full well that even newborn they had been nearly twice Ian's height.
The pain for Serenity was gone, though the ache had not left, and, she knew, would not for quite a long time. Still, she knew it could have been worse. A quick glance down at herself told her that her clothes had grown with her ... though she would need an entirely new wardrobe. She wondered how much she had grown.
She looked up at Prince and Gaunt and smiled through her pain. "I'm all right, Prince," she assured him softly, reassuringly. "I just ..." She winced. "Need to get used to it ..."
A hot bath would be her priority after she saw Gaunt and Prince off through the portal, and then she was going to use as much ache cream as she required.

Gaunt smiles softly as he gently runs his hand up and down her back. He tilts his head slowly and he speaks softly. "I know I just arrived, love, but if you require time alone, I can go. I know this is a big deal." He tilts his head, his hands still moving comfortingly at Serenity's back. He gnawed on his lips for a few long moments before he spoke again. "Maybe I can leave Prince here. So you, and your grandmother and Mrs. Winters can discuss getting Prince into school as soon as possible. I don't want you to stay this uncomfortable for my sake, my dearest."

Lore smiled, "Well that choice is up to you," he told Serenity.
He didn't mind having Prince around, and knowing the fact Gaunt was probably living in a dorm of some sort it would be better for Prince to live somewhere more open, but it depended more on Serenity.
And the fact that she just grew.

Serenity smiled and nodded slowly, then uncurled herself and forced herself to her feet. Almost immediately she felt a cramp in both her legs, and she winced and forced herself not to fall.
"I think it would be wonderful," she said through clenched teeth, trying to smile. "I should be back to normal by tomorrow ... and Skye should be home tonight ..."
Ian perked up, nodding eagerly. "Yes!" he exclaimed. "Aunt Skye said she would be home tonight! Er ... yesterday ... ?" He trailed off in confusion.
Elnara laughed softly. "That explains why Ian's so wide awake at this hour of the night," she smiled, rocking Hana softly so that she wouldn't wake up from Ian's outburst. "You visited Arda, didn't you?"
Ian grinned and held up his bow. "Look what Ulrich made me!"

Gaunt's eyes didn't seem to miss a thing. He was completely focused on her. He noticed her having problems standing, so he lent her his body to lean on. And he heard the slight variation on her voice that told him that she wasn't speaking properly, probably in restraint to the pain. He spoke softly to her. "I'll help you to the bath, okay? Getting some nice not water for you will help relax you, I know." He smiles as he looks over at Lore and Elnara, a light blush on his cheeks. "I'm sorry this meeting had to last so short. But it seemed some things just coudln't wait anymore." He smiles as he bows as best as he could without unsettling Serenity, gathered Prince to his side, and turned to try to help Serenity toward a bathroom so she could take a nice, HOT, bath.

"That is fine," Lore assured Gaunt standing straight.
Though he would have liked to help, but it seemed that Serenity was in good hands.
"Having Serenity comfortable is more important," Lore smiled softly at Serenity, "When you're better maybe we can arrange a get together."

Serenity nodded over her shoulder at her parents. "I'll see you both tomorrow," she winced, putting all of her weight on Gaunt and hobbling towards the door. Good night, Mama. Good night, Papa."
Then she turned back to Gaunt and headed with him towards the door.
"Back the way we came," she groaned, wincing with every step. "Have to ... get to my house ..."
"This way!" Ian beamed, running ahead and going for the door to outside. "Come on, our house isn't far!"

Gaunt nods slowly as he follows Serenity's instructions. He looks at her with a very worried expression, whispering softly. "I wish there was more I could do to help you, my love. If there's anything I can do.. anything at all.. please.. let me know.." He smiles and mutters a thank you to Ian as they go through the door Ian directs them to, heading outside.
Prince somehow had a sense about how serious things were. So he followed along throwing worried glances at Serenity. He saw what her discomfort did to Gaunt, and he didn't really like the expressions they were showing. It made him feel uneasy.

It wasn't long before they reached another house, and Ian tugged on Prince's boot and pointed up at the doorknob. "We gotta go in here," he told him, "but I can't reach the knob ... "
Serenity's step was slowly growing stronger, though it was clear from the look in her eyes that the pain was still there. Still, she refused to let it overtake her, and she walked carefully alongside Gaunt, allowing him to take her weight.

Prince nods and reaches up, trying the handle. Hopefully it was unlocked and they would be able to get in easily.
Gaunt turns his head and gives Serenity a reassuring smile as they walk with her weight over him. He slowed when he saw Ian directing Prince at the door, smiling softly. "Should I leave you at the door, or do you want me to carry you into the bath?"

The door opened easily under Prince's touch, and Ian pushed the door open and darted inside.
"Gotta see if Aunt Skye is home," he muttered, glaring up at the light switch. "Can you turn the middle switch off and on a few times?"
Serenity smiled back at Gaunt, though she was feeling a little weak. "Just ... take me to Skye," she murmured. "I'll ... I'll be fine ..."

Prince blinked and looked puzzled. He dind't understand what flickering the lights would do. But, he did what he was asked. "Uh. Sure." He reached up and grasped the middle switch, flicking it up and down a few times.
Gaunt also looked confused about what Ian was asking Prince to do, and he looked around slowly. He swallowed, once, before he smiles. "Alright. So where is Skye?"
