As the Orochi youth knelt to pick up his tessen another idea came to him. He could use his tessen for offensive abilities that could be used defensively too. Attacking while keeping the opponent at bay would be idea. Yet that left two other options left. Mobility and recovery. For now Shisei didn’t have any ideas for recovery of the item, but mobility was something he could do. As the Orochi picked back up his weapon, his fingers opened the item so it can span its full length. I was an armament truly made for a giant. Also, because Shisei was so small it was nearly his height. In a way it was like a giant kite, something that the serpent youth could take advantage of. Golden eyes stared into the blue sky watching as two leaves danced in the air and a bird even higher up circled around. It may have been an avian predator that found some food. The most important part was that the bird was flying. All in all Fenghuang was like a giant kite that could glide in the wind given enough wind. If Shisei could somehow figure how to use that he would be able to decrease travel time to destinations. It could also be a great option to take the opponent off guard. Surfing through the air would get him off of the ground from destructive attacks that used the land. Perhaps if he had enough energy and power the student of snakes could levitate to incredible heights in the air and put him out of danger’s way. At the same time he could still use his jutsu from afar to attack the opponent. If anything a jutsu that granted him the mobility of air may be the most efficient thing in the future. Closing Fenghuang, Shisei was once again pleased that he stole the fan those short years ago.

Tessen 101
Sukotto wants Shisei to think of ways to improve his skill with his tessen, whether it be various kinds of training, figuring out how to combine his chakra with his tessen in some way, or in some other way. The Uchiha has encouraged the Orochi to assist Serena with her training as well.

Before the serpent youth continued the gold orbs glanced around to see what the other members of the team were doing. Serena was up to different stances with her unique weapon. Normally Shisei would sit and watch. Just so he knew what may become a hindrance to him in the future. For now though he had to try and keep focus on his own task. Stances were nice, but the serpent youth was more concerned with combing the fan into different attacks as well making sure he can wield it. His brain organized a number of attacks he could use. The question was if his body would be able to keep up. The gold eyes loomed over to the female Uchiha as she prepared herself for her own training. Using a bow meant she was most likely a long distance type. Something that the he would need to keep in mind. The iron eel that wanted to feast on his flesh was partially a long distance fighter with all his chains. His brain would have to keep in mind strategies against those of distance. Or make sure his future jutsu would travel further and faster than any arrow could. The elder Uchiha was trying to do something with his chakra, but did not seem to be gaining as much luck as before. Surprisingly that man did not use any weapons. Or maybe he did not show any as of yet. Shisei would have to inspect his items later to see if he held his own weapon. The muddle of a team had different weapon for each. “A staff…medium and short range, a bow…. long range, my tessen…. variable range with jutsu… All ranges seemed to be covered with this team. Was the rude boy thinking this far ahead?”. The Orochi born would have contemplated this matter a bit more, but a twinge in his wrist made him drop the tessen once again.

With a small glare at his appendage, as if it had committed murder, Shisei twisted his wrist and allowed it to crack before picking back up Fenghuang with the same seemingly injured hand. The dread hair was going to work through this bruise even if it killed him. Which just may happen… As his hand held the closed instrument, Shisei could only think back at how this device became his. Two years ago he had filched the item along with a few others for two loser students. What were their names again? The serpent youth could not even see their faces. All he had was a feeling of irritation thinking of them. All his memory allowed was that the two were trash so they didn’t need to be thought of anyways. Besides that moot point he had grabbed the large golden tessen along with a smoke bomb and senbon for himself. Even the eggplant colored skull couldn’t deny he had picked up the weapon, not just out of curiosity, but for its elegance and it atypical style. He didn’t want to pick up a weapon that everyone else had. Swords were too typical as were most of the other weapons. Any that were not, were too heavy for him to handle. Yet the golden fan seemed to be a good fit. The serpent youth would figure out later that it was created of a wood known as balsa. This type of timber gave the weapon a low weight with some of the inner parts weaker than the base structures, but still made it sturdy enough to defend against as well as take a decent amount of punishment. That was proven by the bloody chain… It also could be used as a sword like weapon when needed. While not efficient as a metal blade, given the right situations it could make some nasty wounds. Being larger than four feet, made the weapon a little cumbersome to carry, but its low weight once again proved to be beneficial. Shisei soon adjusted to carrying it and in time it was no longer a hindrance. Of course the greatest thing about the weapon was that it could be used for jutsu. That was the clincher in which the serpent youth did not just dump the weapon. He couldn’t have found a better prize that day in the weapon’s shop.

From a hunched over position, the Orochi born pivoted his wrist to point straight and stab towards the air. At the same time his body raised from its low bend to one foot forward and the back leg using the knee on the floor for support. In actuality his brain had conjured an opponent to face against and attack. The person of his mind was no one special. Although it did bare a resemblance to that person from the beginning. What came was a powerful mid thrust that would have jabbed through an enemy’s navel. Punching a hole into an opponent there would definitely make the blood flow. It would be something that the Orochi youth would be able to take advantage of.

“From the thrust at the mid section go to the knees. A twirling low horizontal.” the serpent youth thought. Pushing off the knee that ground, made little snake stood and continued forward. If the opponent was in front of him, the tessen would have went two more inches into their being. His legs then back tracked three inches. The left leg pivoting behind the right drawing the snake into a small twirl. One palm switched off to the other, putting the weapon in his right hand. As he spun the imagined figurine, already holding their stomach would now take an attack to the knee. Because it was only would the knee would not be decapitated from the rest of the leg. Nevertheless it was an attack that would hurt the joint and most likely bring an opponent down to one knee. Specifically the right knee. The figurine flinched with one hand on their knee. Shisei’s body kept moving in which he was planning to set up for another attack. He just had to make sure his foot and heel could pivot quickly enough.

Such a form of assault was one that the boy had used during the war with Meho. He had used the fan to some degree against his opponents, but with not as much grace as he tries to perform now. The boy was grateful he did not wield his weapon like a barbarian, like the invaders did. At the same time he was not even up to the level of mediocre back then. That time it was used more to for defensive measures. Shisei was glad that the weapon did not break from the cruel attacks it had to defend against. Especially since it was around that time he realized he lacked many things. Not in talent because the maverick was certain his capacity was far over the aggressors. Still, why were some his age and younger given better weapons and armaments than him? Metal weapons; maces, daggers axes, spears. Him barely fending off with a wooden fan. Its golden color being slowly chipped away. The cannibals were graced similar to some of the students on Shimagakure. Given rank, weapons, and other things for no sufficient reason. While the Orochi born had to find his own way. Even now, wasn’t the Tenmoki woman training her children in arts that the others did not know. It was ok though. Shisei would become the best, even if it was alone. “That’s what it means to be the strongest…”. The Orochi loner gripped his weapon tighter.

Sukotto smiled on the inside as he caught Shisei out of the corner of his eye. It seemed as though the boy had thought of a way to make his weapon quite useful, as his constant tendancy to observe his surroundings seemed to fade for a short moment as he was trapped within the confines of his mind as a result of a new idea. Of course, the boy wouldn't share it, Sukotto could easily tell by now that it wasn't in his nature to divulge his most powerful secrets, at least not easily. While this was a bit troublesome since Sukotto could potentially help out the boy with whatever he had managed to come up with, the Uchiha merely shrugged it off, as he was simply happy to know that the training had apparently paid off in the Orochi's favor. Immediately following this subtle expression, Shisei set off on training with his tessen, so Sukotto assumed that either the thought had put the boy in the mood to train, or the boy intended on trying his idea out. Sukotto didn't want to make it too apparent that he was watching the serpent youth, so he continued to focus on his own training, continuing to concentrate his chakra into his feet and think of all of the potential uses for it in that area.

Since he seemed to be having a little trouble with truly focusing on his training, the Uchiha attempted to block everything out for a few moments so that he could really focus and leap over the wall that had been blocking his progress for much longer than he would have cared to have it get in the way. He began to think of the most advanced use of chakra in his feet that he had thought up. It had been the sole reason for developing the Phoenix form and he hadn't quite had the chance to perfect it, as he had been busy with helping Senritsu train over the two most recent years of his life, and with selecting, planning, and planning his squad. Now however, the chuunin would likely have a little free time on the upcoming mission to continue the training that he had left off with, finally finishing the Phoenix Form once and for all. In a dream soon after he had returned from the mission to the Orochi village, Sukotto had seen himself using the Phoenix Form with an enhanced chakra control technique added to it. The dreamed up version of Sukotto was able to literally stick his feet to his opponents, much like a shinobi stuck their feet to trees for climbing and water for walking. This technique gave him the ability to pull the opponents into his kicks with the opposing foot, making them much more powerful and accurate.

With the increased power of his Phoenix Form, the Uchiha's taijutsu would become nearly as strong as a crafted weapon. In addition to allowing his feet to stick to an opponent's body, the increased level of chakra in his legs and feet would increase the power of his strikes to give them the weapon-like quality. With this tool in his arsenal, Sukotto's opponents wouldn't realize his true power by merely looking at him, since they wouldn't be able to detect any weapon on his body. Figuring that he had pretty much taken care of the focusing in his feet for the time being, the Uchiha decided to think about a different area of his body to explore the chakra-based potential of it. A shinobi's hands were valuable tools for wielding weapons as well as forming seals and launching strikes. By focusing an amount of chakra into them, all three of these areas could be dramatically improved without too much effort. In addition, it wouldn't take much chakra to improve these areas, as it was another case of shinobi automatically pouring chakra into their body parts to make them stronger. Since the potentials for chakra use in one's hands were nearly limitless, Sukotto decided to focus on a more specific area so that he wouldn't become too wrapped up in the subject. The area that he intended on thinking about and exploring with his chakra was medical jutsu.

Sukotto hadn't been able to test out if the modified version of the Phoenix Form had worked since he hadn't even completed it yet, so he wasn't sure if it was possible, but if it was, then the same modifications could be made to various other areas of his body. This sort of thing was present in every form of medical jutsu. Medical ninja focused great amounts of chakra into their hands and used this chakra to perform basic first aid, and eventually surgery for the more advanced users. The Uchiha wondered if this kind of control in one's hands could be used in battle as well as in the medical clinics. While a surgical knife could leave quite an intimidating mark on an opponent, a surgical jutsu would do the same damage, but without hinting that the damage was present. This meant that a shinobi could be damaged, and while they would certainly feel the pain of the wound, they wouldn't see it. Most aggressive shinobi would attempt to push past the pain since they wouldn't truly take time to understand the damage. If anyone pushed themselves too far while wounded, a larger wound would be created. By using a surgical jutsu, an invisible wound would be created and expanded if it wasn't detected in time.

One leg mashed into the ground and pivoted directly ahead. The outer leg rose into the air, but came back down to maintain balance. After taking the fake opponent down by one leg, it was time to aim for the other. Specifically to attack the foot. If such a tool could punch a hole in a person like a finger through cardboard then it could definitely be used to hinder and debilitate. Although the places it could generate enough damage would have to be the smallest parts of the body. Attacking the foot or hand would do a lot to someone. Shisei’s wrist manipulated the tessen to aim downwards and he pushed off with his back outer leg. If an actual body was there, that person’s foot would have been in extreme pain and discomfort. Since no one was there though the Orochi youth’s fan went into the dirt and gravel. The Meho’s were not the only aggressors in the boy’s past. There was another too, although Shisei had figured he deserved his power. There was no one that the serpent youth saw that could wield a chain so. No one in their generation probably could. That boy proved to be a threat. On the first night they fought that was without the tessen. It was a rough battle. Even if the two were about even the Orochi was not prepared for such ferocious tenacity. It became a war of attrition. A war in which the eel of blood would have won, because he could absorb more pain. He just may have too if someone else had not intervened. That gave the serpent youth the advantage. One in which he maximized to gain the upper hand. Even though the two were kids, they were monsters in the making. Future demons that walked the earth, well if they survived long enough. Amber suns glaring down at the large, closed fan, his mind wondered if that match back then would have been different if he had the gold weapon. Would it have been a benefit or a inconvenience? Whatever it might have been then, the serpent youth would need it in the future.

After thinking it through, Sukotto wondered if he could combine the offensive surgical jutsu with his Phoenix Form. The result would be a technique that involved pumping chakra into both his hands and his feet, likely making his own body more powerful than any kind of shinobi weapon on its own. To be able to latch oneself to an opponent with one's feet and then to slice away at their muscles with invisible medical jutsu would be quite a terrifying combination. However, Sukotto imaged that such a technique would require a great deal of chakra and would probably only be able to be used a couple of times in a fight, even if he had accumulated a massive amount of chakra through his training. This cost would be worth it, though, since the jutsu would not only be more powerful than any taijutsu or weapon, Sukotto figured that it would rank right up there with the most powerful ninjutsu known to shinobi. The technique would hit an enemy where they least expected it, and could also be combined with sneak attacks to increase its strength even more. The Uchiha decided that this surgical jutsu combined with his Phoenix Form would be something that he would definitely consider pursuing in the distant future.

In addition to performing surgical justsu, throwing weapons, and using hand seals, Sukotto figured that his hands could be used to concentrate chakra for powerful ninjutsu more easily. The only fire jutsu that Sukotto knew was shot out of his mouth, so it couldn't be controlled very easily and its powerful was a little unpredictable. If he was able to use his hands to mold the chakra in a way that he saw fit, the results of the jutsu would be much more predictable, and that would make them quite a bit more effective since he'd know how much chakra he'd need to spend to defeat an enemy. The chuunin envisioned a jutsu in which he shot fire into his hands, which he would have coated with a special layer of chakra similar to the layer of chakra that protected his lungs from the flame of his fire jutsu that he conjured within his body. He'd likely need to mold the jutsu while he breathed it out of his mouth into his hands, but with this special chakra coating, he figured that he wouldn't have too much trouble figuring out how to successfully do this. This kind of jutsu would likely require a lot of chakra, since it wasn't all being used at once, so Sukotto decided that this would be something else that he'd consider in the future.

In spite of the amount of time and chakra that he was spending on the exercise, Sukotto felt as though he was gaining little ground and tiring himself out quite a bit. The Uchiha figured that it wouldn't take him much longer to diminish his chakra to a point which would require him to take a break from training to recover the chakra that flowed throughout his network. Since he didn't like taking breaks very much, the Uchiha worked his hardest to figure out how to get the most out of his training. He closed his eyes, allowed his environment to completely disappear, and did his very best to concentrate on his chakra flow. Sukotto imagined the chakra move through his limbs as though it were a rapidly flowing river. The Uchiha then focused on his energy and attempted to slow it down to match the pace of a trickling spout of water. This was quite difficult, as it wasn't easy to slow down something that had been pushing through his body so hard. Unfortunately, it was much more difficult than Sukotto had imagined and he wasn't able to properly slow down the flow of chakra that was present in his network, so he ended up spending a bit of chakra, which wasn't something that he had planned on doing.

After having still failed to make any progress with his training, Sukotto broke his hands away from the Ram seal that he had been holding. The Uchiha took in a deep breath of air and shook the stiffness out of his hands. He wouldn't yet begin the long process of recovering his chakra, but instead just allow himself a moment or so to clear his mind before attempting the training once again. In a flash, the Uchiha clapped his hands together in the Ram seal and focused as much chakra into his hands that he could muster. Unfortunately, this caused a strange upset within the chakra throughout the rest of his body. Sukotto narrowed his eyes at the hand seal that he had been holding onto and wondered why he had such difficulty with such a simple kind of training. He blamed it on the fact that he had overworked himself. The chuunin was quite worn down and couldn't bear to do any more training without taking a break. If he attempted to do so, he'd likely pass out from exhaustion. He hated to rest for an extended period of time for the second time that day, but Sukotto knew that he had no choice at this point. He figured that it wouldn't take him too much time to recover most of his chakra anyway, so he tried to not let it bother him too much.

After taking another deep breath, Sukotto kept his hands in the Ram seal, but allowed them to relax a little as he began his chakra recovery meditation. It was at this time that he took time to enjoy the breeze that was nearly constant at the cliffs. Thankfully, this seemed to actually help him in regaining his chakra. The cool and soft feeling of the wind did wonders for the Uchiha's fatigued muscles and bones, and allowed his mind to clear a little more easily as well. Sukotto figured that if he wasn't trying so hard to finish his training, that it would be more likely for him to complete it at a faster rate. He began to glance at his squad as they trained, since he had been sort of blocking them out with his training since it had given him so much trouble.

It seemed as though Shisei was really getting into his tessen training, and Sukotto was quite glad to see the boy so passionate about something. While Shisei had a really tough outer shell and Sukotto expected to find the exact same or even tougher below the surface, it was very good to see him almost take a sort of enjoyment in his training. For even if the serpent youth was taking it extremely seriously and wasn't at all training for the pure enjoyment of it, he obviously felt somewhat completed by training and making himself stronger and better suited for the situations presented by a shinobi's life. The way that the boy swung his large fan really said a lot about his determination and drive.
