Cassie sighed. She wasn't sure whether to press the subject or leave him alone. *why did his attitude change so suddenly?* she asked herself. *Will it help if I try to lighten the mood or will that just make it worse?* she didn't know what to do. "Sorry." she whispered.

Julius said nothing, he didn't even look at Cassie. After walking for about five minutes Julius didn't look all that well. "Cold.......so cold........why did you have to go?" he said silently to himself.

Cassie looked at Julius with concern bright in her eyes. "Julius, what's wrong?" she asked more solidly this time. She aqueezed his hand. "Julius?"

Cassie pulled Julius into an alley to get away from staring eyes and hugged him tightly. "You're not alone!" she cried. a tear slipped out of her eye and rolled down her cheek. "I won't leave you." she said.

Julius didn't hear her, he was in his own mental realm. "Why?! Why did you have to go?!" he yelled.

Cassie could tell that he couldn't hear her. she cried a little harder. she was scared too and she didn't know what she could do. she looked at him, his face blurry from her tears but she found his lips with her own and kissed him with fervor. *Wake up!*

Julius suddenly stopped and snapped back into reality. As he pulled back from Cassie he stumbled to the ground.

Cassie opened her eyes. she squatted down next to him. "Are you.... ok?" she asked him, her voice still unsteady from the tears that kept leaking out of her eyes.

Julius stood up and said "I thi-" he stopped in mid sentence and collapsed.

Cassie managed to catch him before he hit the ground. "Julius!" she shouted. she held him with one arm aand wiped away her tears. Tears were useless, they didn't fix anything and she needed to be strong right now. she picked him up and put him on her back. she waled to a motel and rented a room, taking out the right amount of cash from Julius's pocket. she walked to the room wearily and opened the door. she put him down on the single bed and sat on the floor, leaning on the side of the bed.

*Mom no!! Stop!!! Get away from her!! STOOOOOP!!!!* Julius gasped in shock as he woke. "Just a dream." he thought. He looked around and saw Cassie beside him. "What happened?" he asked her.

Cassie blinked sleepily. she looked up at Julius and then jumped up. she squeezed him tightly. "You're awake!" she exclaimed. "I was so worried and you were-" she couldn't get her words past the lump in her throat. she hugged him tighter.
