Amelia nodded slowly. "I see..." she murmured. She let the man -- morph -- guide her back towards the house, her feet moving slowly. The cold was setting in where her coat didn't cover her, and she knew she shouldn't be outside, but someone had to protect the outside of the house, right? Fefga's house had all sorts of enchantments placed upon it, decades, even centuries old, but Amelia felt no need to risk anything. Having monsters clumped around the house because everyone was safe inside didn't sound promising.
"Who is going to protect the perimeter from the outside if I go back in, though? I'm fine. Really." Amelia held her lance with one hand and stuffed the other in a pocket to warm it up. "...Really!"

The singing stopped slowly and there was a short pause. Then, surprisingly, the barrier of the secret passage vanished and a section of the wall opened up, revealing a long, dark passage of stairs. The singing then began again, ever so sweetly.

Tibarn flew ahead a bit, watching for any Bael lurking under the snow-- the speed with which they could leap out and surprise someone made them the most dangerous monsters around. He found none, fortunately, and once Amelia and Kishuna had made their way in, Tibarn flew down and closed the door behind himself, growling. "No one is to go outside again unless we deem it absolutely necessary. Putting yourself in danger puts all of us at risk."

The morph shook his head. ". . . Young humans. . . should not be in the cold," he told her gently. "It. . . would not be well. . . if you caught. . . a sickness." He paused for a moment, then removed the cloak from his shoulders and placed it around the girl's. "There are. . . others to help. . . . Like that hawk. It will. . . be fine."
He looked at Tibarn once they were in, then frowned. "You seem to have. . . left out the pegasus knight. . ."

"It's getting louder... what is the spirit showing us...?" Sue wondered as she followed the voice. She had no idea that of course, Fefga wasn't allowed to show herself.
Victoria looked upon Tibarn, wondering if he had yet to convince the other two to actually stay inside, it would be best...
But, it still unsettled her that only everyone in here was safe.

Soren listened intently to the singing. Was it the song from his dream? The mage reviewed the song he had heard from his dream, then concluded it had little to no connections to this singing, this strange voice reverberating through the newly opened passage...
Tome at the ready, he took a step toward the new entrance with a glance back at the box. The mage noticed a key in his older semblance's hand, but he made no remark. Soren steadied his attention on the new door.
...I really don't want a fight.

Amelia sighed, but she took the offering. She held it securely around herself with one hand, putting her lance against the wall once they were inside. Tibarn's harsh statement made her look away sheepishly, coughing once into her fist. Sorry for trying to do something to help, then...
"Then are we expected to fight off everything from within the house? They could surround us, and if we had to leave for any reason, they would swarm us in an instant. Even extremely competent warriors like you could get overwhelmed by a dozen Mauthe Doogs attacking all at once in moments."

[Note:
The full translation of the ancient parchment Sue found chronicles the lamentable tale of a great leader among pastry chefs in the kingdom who contributed greatly to the field of baked dessert research, but who met an untimely and terrible end when he was assassinated by members of the Treacle-Makers Guild as they attempted to assert themselves as the best dessert chefs in the kingdom. The chef's contributions have been lost, and his once widely-known name has been reduced to a footnote in historical cooking texts.
It has nothing to do with King Leander whatsoever.]

Once Fiora had recovered from being shoved aside by Tibarn, she calmed down Snow, "It's ok Snow, he didn't mean any harm." Speaking to the stranger, "Um.. Hello. It seems that I was wrong to assume you were a threat. Sorry."

She knew better from her experiences with Tacitus than to venture anywhere by herself. However, when she read of this marvelous cook in the parchment... it gave her an idea. They probably had more raw materials in the house than actual food itself. "His recipes! We can live off these... they were said to give the knights of the ancient kingdom incredible stamina!"

Tibarn looked out the window in response to Amelia's question. "They're not that organized. Mauthe Doogs aren't going to team up with the Mogalls or Baels any time soon. As far as I can tell, they're eating each other."
His ear pricked at the sound of growling stomachs. "... We need food, too. Just hold on, Amelia. I'll get some groups together who can go find us supplies, but we can't have anyone running out there unprepared."

Overhearing Tiberon, "Would you like Snow and I to try flying into town and getting food? I'm positive we could get there and back quicker then some of the others."
