Sorry that's so big----old codgers here, you know. Pretty daring for him! Look at it this way----archaeologists will be really happy to find some of that stuff! It will be amazing how little is left, and how quickly it disappears. REALLY.

pirhan I use olive oil myself. What do you use for the water part? I just put olive oil in and then lie there and then flip. Just a syringe without a needle on it, the tip is small enough to get a decent stream so i just use that with water as warm as i can stand. The lying there and flipping over after 5-15 minutes thing doesn't work for me...my ear just holds onto the oil then. That book looks like it'll be a good one.

EXCELLENT HAT. 3nodding
@ Teh_plague: We have a syringe, so I'll give it a try. Book is pretty good so far. I think combined with the other herb book I have I'll be set.

That is indeed an excellent hat. I too require an actual hat someday...i tend to only wear a winter hat and a baseball cap here and there.
I require more books as well, i want to pick up a few diy medicine and dentistry books after new years. As well as a few simple living type books, and diy electrical work and plumbing because i would really hate to pay a plumber or electrician 50 bucks an hour plus materials to fix something i could fix for a few bucks myself. It's like i need 2 jobs...one to pay the bills and one to buy books.
@pirhan: be a little careful at first because you don't want to push too much water in too fast, also it might shock you a tiny bit if you haven't used that method before.

Thanks for the compliments on the hat---I'll pass them on. He hardly looks like a city boy from the Great Northwest at all----or a biker. Just imagine that flaming red hair halfway down his back, with dewrag and motorcycle helmet. *shivers* Frightening. LOL So.....It's not a flashy hat, or expensive hat, but it's a real hat, and we are happy.
Books are the best habit you can acquire, as far as I'm concerned. Happy hunting!
Have you guys used hydrogen peroxide in your ears? Dilute it with a little warm water. Those bubbles do wonders, although it feels like you've become a popcorn popper! Saved so much trouble with the kids' ears, found it trial-and-error style after those terrible ear infections....
Cleaning here will start with the next semester, and go until the mud stops. Ugh.

Got the joy of stacking pallets of fire wood at the front entrance of the store tonight right by the automatic doors so while i spent 20 minutes stacking it all up the doors just kept opening and closing over and over. The manager told me he had plenty of random jobs around the store that would keep me busy until we closed because i got all of my regular stuff done halfway through my shift. He somehow thought stacking two pallets of wood would take me at least an hour...i'm sorry its like 6 -8 arm sized logs wrapped together with plastic wrap and it's got a handle...maybe 12 per layer...8 layers high or so. That does not constitute an hour or more of work if your actually working and not just lazily moving one bundle at a time as slow as possible. So long story short i spent the other half of my shift helping customers and bagging for the cashiers because he couldn't think of anything that took me more than 45 minutes combined all night.
Besides that i'm on i think day 4 of doing mineral oil drops and i still haven't been able to dislodge this pesky impacted wax in my left ear. Which is annoying because last time i had to do this was earlier this year and it took like 2 weeks because i waited so long. Its becoming bothersome and i might have to just go to a doctor because i don't enjoy being deaf on one side. Perhaps tomorrow i'll get lucky and it'll come out finally. Then with a little preventative maintenance (ear drops once or twice a week with a good flush once a month or so) i won't have this problem again because i sure do wish i had taken peoples advice about it when i was younger and maybe i wouldn't have this problem anymore.

Hat really looks really good and it fits well with the look of "real" cowboy. 3nodding Will be doing a clean and purge starting in the next few days. Living at the in-laws and they've been here for twelve years. Needless to say there's a lot of junk. And it's poorly, poorly organized. I found my mother in laws shoes stuffed in behind a work bench drawer. question My plants aren't doing well again. I don't know what's up with them. I've never had this problem ever. I got some Gel 2 Root for them. Hopefully that'll pull them together to make it through the winter. Also at Canadian Tire (where I bought the Gel 2 Root) I bought, for $3.99, Beyond the Grave movie pack. Currently watching Beast of the Yellow Night, 1971. Acting isn't great, but dialogue is pretty artsy. Sex scenes are so different from todays. Soft and slow with glowy background of faces... or (real) breasts. Kinda neat. John Ashley is pretty good looking too. I love old Hollywood, so much more real. Worth the $4. 3nodding And spent five hours at the hospital last night. Boyfriend possibly has gallstones. I am so very glad I have my smartphone. It was stellar to keep the boredom at bay. Oh, anyone making News Years resolutions? I normally don't bother, but I'm making two this year: - Learn how to use my DSLR. I've had it for a few years now and don't know how to use any of the manual settings. - Do weekly sketches Long post is long but has anyone here watched Black Swan with Natalie Portman? SO GOOD.

Major purge style cleaning is always time consuming and sometimes quite unpleasant. I've only done it a few times but i don't exactly enjoy it except the most recent time when it resulted in us selling a whole bunch of stuff and making several hundred bucks off of junk.
I can hear clearly once again thanks to mineral oil and my impatience that resulted in shaking my head back and forth until i could suddenly and miraculously hear lol. So now i'm just keeping up with the drops every day for a while to make sure as much as possible works its way out before i cut down to drops once a week.
Sorry about the hospital and the possible gallstones pirhan i know nothing of gallstones but it doesn't sound pleasant at all.
I've also made some new years resolutions but i've never really done them in the past. - Quit smoking (currently down to 1/4th of my regular # of smokes) - Lose 60 pounds (lost 40 2 years ago but gained it slowly back after losing my job and such. I'm so much happier and healthier below 250 pounds so i'm aiming for 220 this time which according to charts still makes me obese but according to my body fat tests i have almost 200 pounds of lean body mass already so going below 200 can't be that good) - Get a new job/finish fixing my blazer - Go fishing and hunting this year

@ Pirhan---Don't kill those plants with kindness. It's really easy to do this time of year. Gallstones??? I'm sure he doesn't fit the profile----female, fat, fertile, forty. What's up with that? No appendix? Appendicitis causes pain in the same area sometimes. Sounds like someone just didn't like your mother-in-law's shoes!
@ Teh_Plague----can you hear me now? Good for you! And good luck with your resolutions! Muscle mass can make it really hard to lose weight, but don't give up. I swear it took ten years of yoga to get rid of those huge basketball thighs and finally just look like a girl! Going fishing sounds wonderful!
The past few days, I have made my first complete pair of socks (knit from the toe up, thanks to youtube videos). I bought a great pair of hunting boots for half price, so I won't freeze when I go outside. I learned that the size 6 jeans I got for Christmas are the same size as the eights I borrowed from my daughter, the tens that I have already, and the size thirteens that I saved from 1979 just because I like the pockets! (So why are we so fat? I wonder.) And I have been cleaning house, cooking, and cheering on a friend from high school who suddenly has a target on his back, politically speaking.
As for resolutions, I want to make every day count in a positive way. I want to see every sunrise and every sunset, and as many beautiful nights as I can. And I really want to set up a studio and get some artwork done!

I started the basement yesterday. I LOVE LOVE LOVE cleaning and organizing. LOVE. LOVE.Getting rid of stuff is so wonderful. I love donating old junk and getting movement in my life. It's wonderful. I love junk but I also love getting rid of it. And finding new ways of organizing stuff. (I wipe my computer on a regular basis just so I can reput and reorganize all my stuff.) ( This / and this is all the stuff we're going to donate. Both my boyfriend and I shook our heads at some of the stuff. Why my 65 year old mother in law has a Barbie styling head and ... a Japanese green tea set... is beyond me. They also put stuff in the weirdest spots... a lone black sock with photos. >_> ) Good job on quitting smoking. heart I really hope it works out for you. Keep a jar of all the money you'll save to keep you going through it? Glad you got your hearing back! My boyfriend bought... As Seen On Tv: P90X He's been whining about being out of shape for years, so he's finally taking the plunge. We'll see how this goes. I'm going to be doing it too. sunsetsmile @ Pirhan---Don't kill those plants with kindness. I'm trying not to kill them. emo The house is so very dry (I wake up at night either itching dry skin or pain from dry lips/nose/face/throat) so I don't want them to get too dry. I lost a few plants last year because I didn't water them enough. I moved them upstairs where it doesn't get so cold at night and am misting them. So far, so good. *knocks on wood* Boyfriend is appendix free. He had it removed 15 years ago. He's fine now and it'll be good for him. He never goes to the doctor so it'll be good to have a checkup. I'm also looking at getting a handgun. For some reason, I've had this drive to get one and know how to use it. (Maybe due to this?) Boyfriend is into it as well, he didn't think I'd want to get one. My thoughts are that if you need to use one, you should know how to use it properly so you don't end up shooting your foot. And, as much as I love the found baseball bat I sleep with, my arms will get tired swinging it at zombies. It's nice to switch things up. 3nodding (man me so chatty)

Happy New Years everyone! I didn't really make any resolutions, but I've been learning how to do html on my own because I want to be abe to make my own web site one day if I start a business like I want to mrgreen I'm going to drink less sode, it's just so addicting I only drink a cup a day as it is, and I'm going to try to get some cardio work out in 5 days a week once I'm bac at school. Today I learned that honey is awesome for fighting acne. If you warm it up then put it on twice a day it's supposed to work and I'm going to start doing that and putting lemon juice on my face at night ( also good at fighting acne and making skin brighter)

@ sunsetsmile- I love being able to hear again lol. The muscle mass does indeed make it very hard to lose weight, my arms shoulders and legs are just solid muscle so all the fat i need to get rid of surrounds my gut, without the gut i look like a short version of a body builder. Losing weight without gaining muscle in the legs or arms means tons of cardio and abdominal workouts...not fun for me. Your resolution to see the sunrises and sunsets sounds like a fantastic one. Hooray on new boots as well. I always enjoy getting a new pair of heavy boots for hiking/working/walking around in winter.
@pirhan- wow thats a lot of stuff to get rid of. Whole lot of work went into all of that progress. I actually have about half of the p90x program that a friend burned copies of for me. Some of the workouts are extremely intense and difficult but the results are legitimate. Thanks for the idea on saving the cash i wont be spending in a jar to keep up the inspiration, i'll pass it on to my mom too. I am also planning on acquiring a gun this year mostly for hunting but i might get a handgun for concealed carry as well if they pass the law in my state this year.
@Short Melancholic- Html is fun stuff and useful if you plan on running your own website for a business.

Anyone want to get up early for a meteor shower? Supposed to be good viewing in the morning about an hour before sunrise. I didn't pay attention to which quadrant, sooooo.....guess you can look that one up, or just bundle up, grab something hot to drink, stagger outside half-asleep and look up! That's what I'll be doing! LOL In my toasty new boots, of course.
I'm glad to hear that some of you are considering getting a handgun, and learning the proper way to use it. It's a tool like anything else, and like most tools, there's no substitute for one....when you need a gun, you need a gun. Just don't get careless. Put them in a safe place when you're not using them, and lock them up!

@ Short Melancholic: Nice! I remember learning HTML back in the late '90's. Just don't make the same mistake I did - red font on a blue background! xd
What I do for a soda substitute is Perrier water with a dash of maple syrup or juice. Yum. :3
@ Teh_plague: Oh! If you start the program, let me know how you like it. We should be getting it in about two weeks. The only "intense" work out I've done is a yoga/pilates one. Yes, laugh, but it was hard at the time! I'm going to document with photos so it'll be interesting.
I'd like to get a hunting gun too, but I would like to start with a small hand gun as I see it as a good all round one for my "needs".
@ sunsetsmile: meteor shower? Are you sure? The way the cats are bouncing off the wall (and up the stairs and down the stairs and around the hall the pitter patter of paws) I would think it'd be a double full moon, or something. I would check to see, but it's too cloudy. sad
