Vadász turned his attention to Cori, observing her for a few moments. "I'm assuming you aren't tired?" He murmured, realizing that it was a very obvious question, but he didn't want to sound demeaning or some such by reminding her that he took first watch. Perhaps I've already failed.

"The door at the very end of the corridor. We're waiting for you." A voice rang through Aki's head as she walked along the east wing.

Aki supressed a moan, there was at least one telepath. She hated them. It was near impossible to lie to someone who was reading your thoughts. Possible, but a pain. She reached the door and went in, the hand not on the knob hovering near where a dagger was hidden.
Cori glanced up, a ghost of a smile flickering across her lips. "Sorry. I just wanted to make sure nothing had happened to them. I need them too much to not be sure they fly straight." she said with an appologetic shrug. She smoothed the fletchings of the arrow in her hand as she spoke, her quiver emptied on her lap. She had a few in a separate pile, ones she'd need to fix, and the rest went into her quiver again once approved.

He chuckled, smiling to her, shaking his head. "No need to apologize, I understand. I used to do that a lot when I used arrows more than a sword." He then tilted his head a little, watching a butterfly go past his shoulder with a grin. "Would you like help?" He offered, violet eyes resting on her.

Cori smiled. "Please. Would you fix these? There's extra shafts and heads in the bag there. There's some broken shafts, just savage what you can from them." she said, motioning to a bag she'd set beside her and continuing going over the rest.

Vadász rose up and walked over, crouching down next to her. "Of course." He picked up the bag she had gestured to, sitting down then. He took all of the ones that needed repair, going through the ones that needed new shafts first. His motions showed that they were practiced, he was doing this without thinking really. He took his time since they could afford it, getting about a fourth of the way through quite shortly. He placed the ones he had finished into a pile for her to examine since he knew that sometimes archers had a preference to their arrows.

"How long've you done this for?" Cori asked as she started looking over his arrows, surprised to find that he'd done a better job than she did at times.

Blinking as he seemed to come out of his thoughts, he chuckled at her question, a distant sort of expression forming across his features. "Oh a very long time... " He zoned back in, smirking to her, tilting his head. "If I had to estimate, since I was seven. I was taught how to fight early on. Among other things." He answered, checking one shaft that he pulled from the bag, then the head, continuing till he was done with them all. He placed the bag back next to her since he had moved it in front of him, brushing his reddish brown hair back. "What about you if I may ask?"

"I was... ten when I was given to Halt. So, seven years or so." Cori said, starting to make new ones to replace those she hadn't found. She was apprenticed at ten, having to remain as such for two or three years before she finally recieved the silver oak leaf amulet that identified her as a Ranger.

Sitting back, he leaned on his hands, looking from her to the sky as she spoke. "Ah... I see. That would explain your technique. Knew I recognized it from somewhere." He smiled to her, seeming quite at ease with himself even if he had just "barged" so to speak, into their camp. He then laid back on the ground, his arms crossed and behind his head, bending one leg and appearing quite comfortable.

"From what? Halt or the Rangers in general?" Cori asked, curious. It wasn't unusual for people to not know of him, but to recognize technique... Few knew Halt, or any Ranger for that matter, well enough to be able to.

At first he made it seem like he hadn't heard her question, smiling softly as he stared up at the sky, watching a bird fly overhead. "Some friends of mine a while back." Was his answer after another moment, closing his eyes, humming lightly to himself. "You forget I change into a bird and can watch from anywhere too." He had opened one eye, winking to her before closing it again.

Cori didn't push, looking back down to her work. She opened a small case in the bag, carefully setting the larger, heavy heads to a few of her arrows. The broadheads were made to pierce through armor, the extra weight and razor-sharp edge making it possible.

Vadász opened an eye, watching what she was doing, pushing himself up rather suddenly. Tilting his head at an impossible angle, he changed into a hawk with a screech, the clothes vanishing the minute they hit the ground into flowers. He perched on her shoulder, making sure he wouldn't affect her work. He just felt some were's going past, afraid of what would happen if they found him in human form.
Instead it was just a spy from Mereth, letting him relax and change back into his human form once he flew a little away from her, the clothes reappearing on his body. He walked over to the spy, listening silently to what she had to say. "Értem, tehát a Királynő van rajta út? Ez minden jó, köszönöm. Igen, ÉN megvalósít amit. Ne aggódjon, ÉN lesz finom. Vigyázz az úton haza." He waved once, returning to Cori then, offering her a beetle shaped arrow head. (Think of some of the ones from 300. x3 ) "These are good for armor piercing as well. It also damages them more if they try to remove the arrow." He smiled to her, crouching down. The charm that he kept hidden beneath his shirt lost the faint glow it had, everything seeming normal again.

((what language is it that they're speaking in?...))
Cori's hand jerked as the screech, barely avoiding cutting herself on the arrow head. She took it from him, smiling. "Never seen one like this. Probably better than any serration could be." she said, noticing the glow as it faded. She looked to him, speaking without thinking. "Why were you banished exactly?" she asked, before realizing what she'd said. "Sorry, I didn't realize, didn't think..." she said quickly, a look of almost panic flashing across her features. She bit her tongue, blushing faintly and hoping he didn't take offense, or feel as though he had to answer.
