Smiling, Maelthra left his sword in the ground for the time being as he moved to the water to take a drink. He looked over towards Amuriel and chuckled with a stretch.

"I'm still not really that great though... I have a lot of work to do before I really get good I think. Though soon I think I'm going to have to work at things to push myself more somehow... I'm not really sure how though."

If he could somehow add weights to his work, that would intensify his training for sure. But he wasn't entirely sure how he was going to do that. Rocks were the only things that were heavy around, but he couldn't easily strap those to his body or to his weapon.

Stretching out once more, he glanced back at his sword, almost ready to get back to training again from his little break.

With a grin and a chuckle, Maelthra shook his head lightly before speaking up again.

"Thanks love, but I feel like I still need a lot of work," he said before noticing her staring at her own hands, "Would you like to pick up on some sort of weapon? It's a good source of exercise and you never know when you'll need to put it to use... Though.. You probably wouldn't be able to start training until after the pups are born but it would give me time to try and scrounge up a crude version of the weapon to get a feel for it..."

Thinking a little more, he tilted his head.

"That goes for anything else that you might want to learn. THough for a better quality version of it, we'd probably have to go to Beriothien.."

Snapping out of the thoughts, he smiled and nodded to her.

"I'm just taking a break right now."

As he waited for his body to recover more, Maelthra stretched out his limbs lightly to get his muscles to loosen up once again. He listened to his mate and nodded as he thought about her trying to work with a bow.

"I think that would work. It shouldn't be too hard to craft one either... The only thing would be the arrows, but you can probably make those out of ice?"

For a moment, he imagined Amuriel firing at various targets, creating arrows of ice on the spot. Though dangerous, it had a certain beauty and graceful appeal to it.

"That would be pretty cool.." he said softly to himself.

"Alright! I'll see if I can make you a practice bow. Then when you get better, we'll go bother Ber for a good quality bow. Though is there anything else that you would like?"

"Yeah you can start practicing with arrow making while you rest during your pregnancy. As for other options... I can't really think of any since you said you didn't think you'd do too well with a sword..."

Maelthra thought for a moment, but then shook his head. The bow really did seem to be the most ideal weapon for his lover. So with a smile, he nodded to her before stretching out one last time.

"Anyway, I'll be back to training. Then afterwards I'll look around to see what I can use for the base of teh bow."

Grinning, he made his way back to his sword and pulled it out of the ground. After taking a few deep breaths, he quickly resumed his training, keeping the same grace he did the first time he practiced that day. Though, at one point, he appeared to stumble slightly from misteping at one part. However, he caught himself so that he didn't end up crashing onto the ground.

With the slip up aside, he just continued on, pressing himself hard to try and strike the air around him quickly and powerfully at the same time.

Maelthra didn't stop for some time, but he managed to keep fairly consistent with his abilities during the time he trained. Stopping once again, he let out a heavy breath as he needed to take a few moments to recuperate once again. Though, this time he sheathed the blade and made his way over towards the water before kneeling down at the edge and taking in several deep drinks.

"Aah.."

Once he felt a little more refreshed, he looked over at his mate and smiled. He remember their little talk about Amuriel getting a weapon and it excited him since they could start training together eventually.

"Enjoyed the show at all?"

Still breathing a little heavily, Maelthra watched as Amuriel crawled out of the water and redressed. With a soft but weary smile he shook his head lightly before leaning back on his arms somewhat.

"I'm just worn out right now but I'll be alright... well.. I'm also hungry... How about you?"

Chuckling as his stomach growled just as he said that, he glanced up at the sky. A considerable amount of time has passed since the two elders first entered the water. That, along with having just exherted a lot of energy, made him feel quite ravenous.

"I could really go for a nice big slab of deer meat right about now..."

But it was then that he remember he just used up his meat supply earlier that morning. Which would mean he would have to go out hunting once he finished relaxing somewhat. with this in mind, he groaned somewhat and flopped onto his backside.

"That's right... I need to go hunting..."

Chuckling softly as Amuriel nudged him, Maelthra nodded and stretched out. Almost instantly, the thought of savory meat in his belly popped into his mind, and that seemed to drive away the fatigue he was currently experiencing.

"Hehe, that's true. And I better get on to it before I get even hungrier."

Sitting up now, he leaned towards his mate and nuzzled her gently. While he did, he thought of an area where he should go searching for prey. He normally tried to go to a different area each time he hunted for deer to keep the population from diving down too much in one place or another.

"Though before I go, is there anything that you need? If not then I'll go ahead and start hunting. I shouldn't be gone for too long... hopefully at least..."
