If Kousei had been in her human form, surely an eyebrow would have been raised skeptically. But currently, she merely settled for stilling her burning gaze on the newcomer - millennium old eyes seeming to bore straight through the Henge. ... At first, she said nothing, merely a bit insulted that this boy seemed to think...well, granted, he knew nothing about her but... She humored him, and kept the thought from Sakeme, but she addressed the boy directly in his mind.
...I can see your thoughts, boy.
It was almost deadpanned and would've probably been comical otherwise. Meaning impure intentions, plots, and of the like were exposed as rawly as meat skinned clean. So Kousei's form of telepathy was not merely for convenience purposes... A pause. So you are a student of the master? Said the phoenix. ...fine. Do what you wish, boy. Just tell me one thing though... There was a hint of amusement in her tone...and was that an edge of danger in her voice...? If she was in her human form, certainly she would've been smirking...
How familiar are you with Shinto towers?
She gave a telepathic image to accompany those words...

Katagi would held his head in confusion as he just heard the bird talking into his head...maybe he was just thinking this up? How can she do such a thing? "I don't tend to dwell on Religion that much compared to my family...So no, I'm not to familiar with them..." Katagi responded back through thought as he stared right back at the Phoenix. It was hard trying to think about the current situation without the bird knowing...Was it a Genjutsu? No...He's communicating with the thing so it must have been a summon...or a demon? If it was a demon then the anbu and kage would take care of it and plus it was too colorful and beautiful to be a demon. "What are you...? And how could you get pass Iwagakures gates with just a simple henge?" There had to be some one who could sense such a creatures chakra...unless she was let in on purpose? Sadly his sneaking mission came to an end...All though how did she already know he was the student of the one in here?

I can read your thoughts, boy. Repeated the bird to his last thought, somewhat annoyed. Goodness...humans were...so...dense. I can only speak human words through a Henge. But if she was in her human form...goodness, she'll roll her eyes in exasperation. Thus, whatever goes on in that head of yours, I can "see" or "hear".
But what could she mean? Did that mean she could she read memories too? Kousei sighed. It was way too troublesome to explain to one who wasn't born in the Fire Country and haven't experienced the Yamanaka's Hijutsu mind-reader technique first hand...because that one was rooted in her Reishi as the origin. Unfortunately, the humans have come up with something that while, yes, it could do basically similar things, the only problem was the Yamanaka's Hijutsu technique left the other end of the connection in a vegetable-state afterwards.
The ruby eyes bore more fiercely into him now. How rude. A demon, of all things...? No, you're not in a Genjutsu boy, but keep it up and you will be. Spreading her wings, the morning light bathing in from the open windows lighting crimson feathers with golden fire, she soared and landed gently on Sakeme's shoulder. Her tone was still disdainful when the Genin got a closer look at burning ruby eyes...and when she next spoke to Katagi, even somewhat affronted. Phoenixes are not supposed to exist in your world, no? Then, I suppose you can call me somewhat of a summon. It was a bit of sarcastic use of logic...but the affront became more clear, though her next words:
Let's just say a certain "clever" Senju long, long ago decided to make a certain contract...and failed...miserably. Ah. So she was stuck in the human realm. I, use gates created by humans? Boy...I make my own. A (mental) but regal sniff of disdain.
I am the southern guardian of fire, Canlaodh (Irish-Gaelic meaning 'purifying fire'). But my master named me Kousei, so you may use that.

He couldn't exactly think of what this Phoenix was like to him as she would very well see and hear what he's thinking...what a troublesome being to be around. "I guess the privacy of ones mind has never popped into your head before? Us humans prefer our thoughts to be to ourselves..." Katagi would smirk at the Phoenix who would soar towards Sakame's shoulders...it must of been how he was looking at her eyes or something. "Failed Contract? What happened to him?" Katagi would think as he would walk over to his new sensei to make a hand seal. "All right Kousei...It's nice to meet you." It was weird for a student to go to his injured sensei, but Katagi wasn't like any other Genin in Iwagakure and he was glad about that. Katagi would say the Genjutsu which would petrify Zephyr. "Mukuro Kaseki no jutsu (body petrification technique)."
Jutsu Name:Mukuro Kaseki no jutsu (body petrification technique)
Mukuro Kaseki no jutsu is a Genjutsu technique that causes its target to see and feel themself being petrified slowly. After Katagi forms the needed handseals, The genjutsu will activate as the victim will see their arms and legs turn to stone as it will continue to their torso and head. The victims of the genjutsu will believe they are being turned to stone as they can also feel and see it them self, this will cause the victim to be unable to move as they're bodies will be paralyzed due to the genjutsu and in a certain amount of time (posts?) not be able to use handseals or weapons. Cp Cost:35 + 4 per round Damage:25 - 40 per round (+ int mod) Requirements:Genjutsu 25 Training: 5 days Special: Opponent can't move until they successfully break out/genjutsu stops. Will Save: 10 + user lever + 2 per 10 in genjutsu

And you humans are too insolent. Replied the phoenix. Taking for granted, believing you deserve this "privacy". Her tone was scornful. Nothing is "deserved", boy. At the question of what happened to her first master, she ruffled her beautiful feathers and huffed. He died. She deadpanned. Well, he did last a week...that'll be the kekkai genkai which kept him alive. But the backlash did rob him of all chakra-producing capabilities, and, when one is incapable of producing chakra any longer, then that means eventually the organs expire too.
A sigh.
Idiot humans. One doesn't just mess with natural chakra and expect to live.

The child stopped struggling with the bucket and for a moment, just laid very still on the bed, holding it. But then...he moved out of bed, pushing the soaked sheets aside. He was dressed in a simple white sleeping robe but the expression on that pretty face, as too were his green-gold eyes, were blank. Almost as if in a trance... But how could he still move...? It was certainly a direct hit because he had not avoided it in any manner.
But it was certain, for in a swift moment, Katagi found himself against the wall, a crater-like indent forming on it from the inpact and for a brief moment, though the child's expression was blank...it was certain that the other had a dangerous air about him despite the normal, cheerful behavior. Zephyr's small hand was around the bigger child's throat - but the crushing pressure, threatening to snap the other child's neck...that strength - certainly could not have come from a child's body.
Even his voice, that childish tone when he spoke, held no expression...blank... Was this...a conditioned reaction...? "...the masters...said...eliminate the intruder..." Masters? But it made no sense...

[Damage nullified since Zephyr's unwell.]
Noushuki Higyou (Concentrated Strike) Description: Gouwan practitioners could expand damage by combining the basic Gouwan principles but build up much more chakra to create even more devastating damage. Rank: B Cp Cost: 60 Cp per strike Damage: 60 - 100 + Chakra mod. (+double Strength mod. to max damage) Drawback: This technique must be charged for four attack turns instead of the usual one. Requirements: Gouwan Style, 60 Taijutsu ranks, 50 Strength, 50 Chakra, 80 Chakra Control Training: 20 days Special: Use Attack Ranged instead of Attack Melee. Shatters wooden puppets instantly and stuns opponent for two turns upon contact. If opponent manages to avoid a direct hit but fails a Tumble check of the attacker’s roll, he/she is winded for one turn.
That's why I warned keep away from him... Muttered the phoenix. But noooo, human brat thinks he's better and smarter, don't listen to someone who's about several million times older than you...don't listen to someone who can actually see that guy's memories... Still muttering crossly away in Katagi's mind, Kousei took flight from Sakeme's shoulder, and regained her human form with the veiling Henge. And she spoke:
"It's only a nightmare, my Lord. The Hokage Hyuuga Rasen rescued you from that laboratory...remember...?"

The slam to the wall was enough to have the older looking Katagi cough up a bit of blood from the impact onto the wall. "D-Damn...What? M-masters!?" What the hell was he talking about? Did he use the right Genjutsu on this guy? How was he an Intruder? Who was this master person? Grabbing at Zephyr's hands that grabbed at Katagi's throat. "L...Let go!" Katagi tried to think towards the Phoenix, her superiority behavior wasn't helping one bit. "W...Who the hell is this guy and tell him to let go!!! You've never warned me that he'll do this!" Turning back to Zephyr he would attempt to talk once more."I'm beginning to think you're not here for Iwagakures best interest!" He said struggling as he talked, the Henge canceled reverting back to his White haired self.

The child's voice was even colder, as he gradually tightened the pressure on the other's throat. "Or are you too a 'Project'...?" Came the demand. He pressed his other hand to the wall, to create the spears that would destroy the other...but why was nothing coming forth...? His creation ability wasn't working...? In his current state, he may not recall...but thank goodness Kousei's teleportational technique had disoriented him so greatly...or perhaps...perhaps that was the cause in the first place...?
Or both that and with the mental assault...?
"...an order..." Came the whisper...the grip loosening just slightly... But the expression in his eyes were still blank...not looking at Katagi...no almost looking through... Was this...was this a fragment of his past?
"My Lord...! Wake up!"
But even without Kousei's fierce demand, his hand...his hand slightly trembled. "An order...so quickly..." Tears slowly dripped from large green-gold eyes.
"...but...but I...don't want...to kill...again..."
Kousei took a deep breath.
"That is enough...122312, cease your assault."
What on earth...a number...?
The child let go...and it was only then those in the room would realize...he had...responded to that when he did not respond to his own name... Sighing, she swiftly drew closer to the child.
"That was long ago." Whispered the phoenix, gently, now still in her human form. "A nightmare..." She took the child in her arms. "Those people were not your masters, merely your kidnappers. 'I will call you Zephyr...and you'll be as free as the wind...' ...do you not remember your dear mentor, who saved you from that life, so long ago...?"
The child was openly crying now, in Kousei's arms. Right now...he was no Kage, no leader...just stuck forever on a nightmare from over nearly three decades ago. "But he's dead..." He whispered. "Rasen-sensei died...like...all the others. It was...my fault that he's dead, too..." The whispers continued. "And because I'm stuck like this...I'll watch many more die with the years..."
Stuck?
Zephyr could not age?
"Even though that's true..." Said Kousei quietly. "You still became an adult, at the very least. Was that not enough?" But there was no answer.
The child had fallen once more into a feverish sleep...
Sighing, she addressed Katagi again.
"You idiot. Simply put, even before he was born, my Lord was with the Fifth Dawn scientists. They wished to create the perfect 'killing machine' and that particular organization were involved in incriminating bloodlimit thefts. His parents were tricked...the Lady Senju Hanami was unable to hold children past the gestation period. That's the curse on the royal family among the Senju - sickly health - for their great paranoia in keeping the line pure. Thus those scientists kidnapped the unborn project, raised the only surviving child as a...thing...as soon as he grew strong enough to manifest chakra..." She huffed. "And made the individual Projects fight each other to the death as part of their tests."
"He was the only surviving Project until he met the former Hokage Rasen when he was ten...and brought back to Konohagakure no Sato."
Then that meant...before he was ten, Zephyr killed people!?
Her eyes landed on Katagi. "Thus, dumb brat, don't go around attacking others in case you trigger a traumatic reaction." After she had replaced her Lord back in bed, she crossly strode to Katagi. A green glow gently surrounded her palm and she placed it against the skin of his neck...wasn't so much external, but so that the internal damages would heal.

"G-Get off of me!" Katagi was trying to gasp for air as his throat was in the grip of this little guy! What was going on here? Was he on some death list of another country? Did the Zuimishi clan did something? They weren't some clan with a special bloodline or something like that! "Project!?" Was the only thing Katagi to mutter out as he couldn't breath any more. Reaching for his kunai was the best bet right now, struggling to reach for the pouch was more troublesome than it sounded. Trying to unbutton the cover would only fall due to Katagi's shaking hands, this happening caused his item pouch to fall onto the floor and scatter the kunais across the floor. Until Kousei decided to call out a sequence of numbers, Katagi was spared and dropped to the floor onto his knees. Katagi was coughing and gasping for air, his hands held his neck which became sore. "What is he...a robot!?" Katagi looked up to the two, but soon enough Kousei would explain what this guy was. So his sensei was something beyond a person with an unique blood line...? Fantastic!
"Me? An Idiot!? Excuse me for not having Mind invading psychic powers like you!" The phoenix in the humanoid form would come over to heal him, he's thankful for that but almost dieing was not what he had in his plan. "I wasn't expecting to be choked and slammed against a wall, I was expecting a Genjutsu cancel or at least some reversal of a genjutsu...not some monster who would kill his student by just being put into a genjutsu." The last thing now he would ever want to do is train with this guy if he was going to be like this... "Krayte-sensei would of never have done this..." Where the hell did his old sensei go? Why did he abandon him?

Kousei rolled her eyes. "It's a normal reaction even for higher-ranked shinobi to retaliate otherwise, boy." Her lava-colored eyes came in the direct line of contact with his own pale orbs. "That is what it's meant to be a child-soldier." Said the phoenix, the last two words almost softly hissed. "The arrogant children of shinobi villages, in such times of false peace, thinks they can claim that same right." A soft pause.
"But that is not so..."
Images will flood into the boy's mind...a raven-haired child with glassy gold-green eyes sitting, slumped against the wall of a plain cell...blood was smeared all over the walls and ahead...a corpse in front... It was not difficult to recognize that child was Zephyr...back when he had been truly the tender age of eight... More images, more memories. Katagi did not understand mere words but as horrifying memory after memory had been shown...
They made him fight against the other Projects.
...battles to the death...
Because the other Projects knew they couldn't defeat him while in a even fight...they tried to kill him in hours of slumber...
He slept sitting against the wall, upright, sword always ready at hand.
Zephyr only knew the labs ever since he knew of the world...
Until one day, he met that Hyuuga Kage. The lab he had lived in since birth was in the outskirts of Otogakure...but one day the scientists allowed him to see the world for the first time...took him to Oto. Such a pretty place it was, the sky was so blue...different from the cramped world of the laboratory... Lots of people in the marketplace. He was left alone briefly, as the scientists parted separate ways to obtain medicinal supplies...and it was there in the village he met the former Hokage, Hyuuga Rasen, who had been on a mission...
A question if the child was lost.
A shake of the boy's head.
But Rasen, suspicious, just sat by the child on the bench.
An hour passed, then two...
No one came for the child.
Rasen offered to take the boy for ice-cream...a confused look from innocent green-gold eyes, even though small hands were already tainted by so much blood... Confusion...of the man, this man who was treating him so kindly...almost like a human being... But he went with that man. Rasen brought two icepops, and with a cracking snap, split the two...
One was given to him.
Cold...it was cold...
But it tasted so delicious...
Another fragment of a memory. Another order, this time from the scientists to kill the intruder... But the intruder was Rasen... Tears falling from green-gold eyes, he realized he didn't want to kill that man...
Another flicker of a memory.
Rasen had come to Oto on a mission, as a request from his late friend - the former Lord Senju...the child's father.
"They are not your 'masters'...merely your kidnappers..."
The Hyuuga Hokage spoke the same words.
Another fragment of a memory...they were attacked... But rather than letting the Hokage get hurt, Zephyr used his Mokouton to murder every last scientist...even though...even though it was not right...but still...he had made his own decision...to help this person...
But wasn't he already stained...? He couldn't go back beyond the looking glass anymore (reference: children's innocence).
"Nonsense." Scoffed Rasen.
"Come with me, 122312...no..."
"I will call you Zephyr...and you'll be as free as the wind..."
He took that man's hand.
And that man led him to Konohagakure.
Seven years passed, Rasen was his master, but acted more like a father figure.
Arguments. Why the hell did he need to have a Genin team!?
His 'father' was disappointed.
Rasen did not want him to join the ANBU...
But wasn't that all his talents were good for?
The Hokage made him learn the medical arts.
Eventually, he agreed to take on a squad...che, persistant old man.
Rasen smacked him on the head. Said he wasn't old, being only seven years older than the now seventeen-year-old child.
He met Yokou, Museifu, and Shikamori.
They were so NOT cute...why, those little arrogant brats! Only five years younger, but could make people many times older grow white hair with irritation...
...lazy Nara...
...arrogant Uchiha...
...and a Hyuuga know-it-all...
Time passed.
He grew to love them.
And of course, crushing poor Shika (without mercy) in shogi and weiqui.
Shika and Museifu "rescued" Yokou from her marriage to Rasen.
Zephyr merely chuckled at their antics.
An angry Lord Hyuuga sent an army after the two for kidnapping the bride...
Marriage happened anyways.
He threatened his 'father'.
Rasen better take care of his precious 'daughter'...
His students had become his children.
...but the next year came...
He found out he was no longer aging. Rasen told him. Nineteen years old already, but permanently stuck, unaging, in his eighteenth year...
He hid it from everyone.
But then he could hid it no more.
So he took his Sannin privilege, and left Konoha for the deserted mountains of Kumo...
One year, then two...
He visited, disguised as a child.
Yokou had a pretty daughter.
Museifu had a son of his own, and took in his wife's eldest son.
Tragedy.
Museifu had betrayed the village.
Rasen was dead, murdered by his Student.
Anger...he went after the Uchiha.
But he could not kill the boy which had in a manner became his son...
Rain...it was cold.
He couldn't save anybody...
So what why did he learn the healing arts anyways?
...
"If you had to live under...such a form for the past decade and half..." Demanded Kousei. "How stable would you be...?"
A mug fell to the ground, smashing to pieces. The tea spilled all over the stone floor.
Princess Elruda was at the doorway, her hands shaking...even though she was no longer carrying the drink...
"That's not true! You are a liar!" Said the girl, screaming at the phoenix. "He's always so happy...he couldn't be... Zephyr-jiji wouldn't ever do something like...that..."
"Shinobis kill, girl. That is a fact." The flame-haired girl merely looked away. "It is only unfortunate that tragedy happens. But..." She looked to the girl at the doorway. "Don't you think it is better, Princess? In the end, this way, he learned how precious life could be..." A pause. "Without...time...one could've become uncaring of the world. But princess..."
"What he came to fear the most, was people he loved...to watch them live, grow other than he, and die...isn't it better to remain with a child's mask, then...?"
That was the power of Kousei's Reishi.
Not merely 'psychic' capabilities...
...but feelings that transcends the heart.
Not merely mind-reading...but reading the heart...

"What Trickery is this...?" The mysterious Phoenix showed him the memories of his new sensei. He would find himself in a different village then he was once in. No mountains or bridges connecting from building to building...as a matter of fact he was in a certain place and he could hear fighting against one and another...it wasn't a very open place like Iwagakure, it was more like a...lab? "Zephyr?" Katagi had a face of concern as he witnessed the projects fighting each other...the urge of getting in between the fight to stop it rose inside him, but he felt he could do nothing but watch the memories unfold in front of him. So he was nothing but a weapon for the hidden sound? How pathetic...still even after the jinchuuriki victims back then, shinobi still tried to find ways to make a better weapon for their country. It also seemed that number sequence he heard was his first name. Odd....he was nothing but a number to him...poor guy. But from the looks of the rest of the memories, he obtained friends none the less down the road.
"I would most likely be like Zephyr or end up dieing by his own hands..." Standing up, Katagi would look towards Elruda and Kousei. "I'm willing to be his friend, but I doubt I could look at him as a new sensei...or a replacement for my old one..." Before leaving, he would get a good look at him...the things he went through was harsh...something no one in this village could have ever went through.

Things were getting a little too odd for Sakeme at the moment. Zephyr-san wanted sake... and food, was chewing on a bucket... anda spirit thing says to leave him be? Atleast that's all she got out of the whole ordeal. Taking a step or two backwards, and then maybe one forward... she decided she needed to do something... but what? The best thing at the moment was to ask. It seemed like the spirit, or whatever, knew what it was doing... perhaps it would direct Sakeme into doing something to help. "Um... can I be of any assistance? I feel rather awkward just... standing here. I'm unsure of what to do..."[/b]

It was around this moment that the Lady Yokou entered the room. She was dressed in formal shinobi clothing today, no loose flowing robes of the Hyuuga clan she wore, Konoha forehead protector gleaming proudly around her neck. A necklace, with the symbol of the Medic order, shone brightly on the talisman around her neck. The Infuin diamond on her forehead was barely visible, just as ever, due to her long bangs but her long, midnight-blue hair was upswept into a high ponytail, swaying gently in motion as she strode into the room.
Pale eyes settled on the occupants in the room, a scroll in her other hand.
"He's still not well yet?" The Hyuuga head of family murmured, after a long moment. Sighing, she strode over to the bed, and placed a palm over the child's forehead...but she seemed relieved when she did not feel a fever. "This is not good...the messenger said..." She did not say much else however. To them specifically, the messenger had given additional instruction...also that everyone who wished to come along should gather together too...
But she said nothing as both her own clansmen and Konoha shinobi filed into the room. She watched as Shikamori picked up the ailing child, the Nara cradling the boy gently in his arms and brought him to the center of the room... Here was where Yokou gave a nod to Sakeme, and then in turn, to her daughter.
"Well then..."
With a quick cut from her Jyuuken, the crimson string broke and the scroll rolled out. She waited until a portion of the lengthy scroll was in reach to every single person present. "On the count of three, touch the scroll, understand...? One......two......"
"......three........"
That scroll was imbued with a reverse summoning spell.
