Did you know that sometimes babies are put back into the mothers womb just to be aborted again?" "Have you ever had sex that was willing?" "No, I have not." I was just on the Houston Chronicle internet article about embryotic stem cell research. Living in a conservative-filled state, a lot of the comments are from people whining about how it won't help any diseases and it's "killing babies" and about how evil liberals are. rolleyes I think I'll sign up on that site so I can leave comments to poke holes in everyones arguements. It'll be funny. I swear, if I ever became a doctor or a scientist I will personally build an artificial uterus so we can trasfer the fetus from the woman to the artificial uterus. That way, the stupid abortion debate will pretty much end (although there will probably be a huge boom in population and the foster systems will flood up like endless rain into a paper cup (I've been listening to the Beatles again...), but at least I won't have to listen to people argue. My intentions aren't very honorable, are they?) and we won't have to argue about it. On top of all of this, Maslow's hierarchy of needs states sex as a physiological need and sexual intimacy as a love/belonging need. So you see, for a person to be at their happiest, they must have their sexual needs fulfilled. I'm a virgin, but even I know that sex can make or break an adult relationship.

I do wonder, though - if life starts at conception (As some people believe) and you get handed your soul as soon as you start living...Identical twins split after conception. Do they each get half a soul? Does one twin miss out?

Actually, I read an article that says as many as 1 in 8 people could've had a twin, but it usually miscarriages before it's detected (possibly part of the reason more multiple births are being born, thanks to better prenatal care). Assuming that is true, and depending on how many of these twins are identical... Does this mean some of us could have half a soul? eek

Ah, more hate from the lifers: Tala Bloodheart So if I get this, according to you stillborns have no life right? then what the hell am I? i was born still born and brought back to life, does that mean i have no soul, does that mean that if you killed me, you would be killing something that apparently isn't human, and they wouldn't be able to arrest you because according to you, im not human? Who the hell do you think you are to come up with something like that, and who the ******** gives you the right to choose wether something lives or dies. I'm all for pro-life, but i mean if your just going to have abortion cause you happen to get pregnant and didn't want cause you wanted to keep partying or keep getting ******** by the guy you like or serveal guys (in some cases) then they should be shot and killed for their ignorance, but if you a young girl who got pregnant by accident, or someone who got pregnant and realized you couldn't support there are other options beside's abortion, ITS CALLED ADOPTION PEOPLE! or maybe you should just suck it up and deal with having a kid. IF YOU GO AROUND GETTING ******** WITHOUT PROTECTION THEN SUDDENLY YOU GOT PREGNANT, THEN ITS YOUR FAULT AND YOU SHOULD DEAL HAVING TO RAISE THAT CHILD OR AT LEAST GIVE IT UP FOR ADOPTION. (and yes i know what the hell I am talking about because my sister had this problem and had to give her child up for adoption. Killed herself emotionally from doing it, but knew that it would be better for him and her in the logn run, now shes pregnant again and going to keep the child cause she can take of one now that shes a bit older)

I hadn't been on in a while - probably a half a year. ED abrotion debates went from being most pro-choice dominated to mostly pro-life dominated. Are they increasing in number or did people just give in bashing their heads against the hard, vast wall that is pro-lifeism on Gaia.

I don't post in abortion debate threads much anymore because I'm paranoid about scrutiny. I don't want to be accused of flaming for doing as little as saying "hey, i disagree" -- after all, I'm sure we're all familiar with people who act like a simple disagreement is tantamount to forcing/pushing your views on them.
I know it's probably nothing, but I'd just like to avoid that!
