Seph rose an eyebrow at her response. ~Sure.~ He poured himself another mug of apple cider and heated it in his hand. He took a sip of it, his mind wandering to Syoku. He frowned in thought.

Nyl hopped down from the counter, putting the remaining empty, dirty bowls into the sink. "Don't freak if I'm not around much tomorrow. I'm leaving early to go into Durem. I should be back before dinner."

Nyl flinched. It was several seconds before she had control of her voice to answer him. "...Telling you I'm going to be away tomorrow is uncalled for?" She stared at him, openly confused.

"I'm protective, Nyl, but I'm not domineering. Or, 'least, I hope I don't come off that way. I had a feeling that if I mentioned it, something like this would happen." He sighed some. He had a funny feeling that this would end very negatively, especially for him. He really didn't want that to happen. "Telling me not to freak out stung, that's all."

He blushed some. This was a very rare side of Nyl. What he had expected, and what he was seeing now were almost total opposites. Screaming, yelling. Maybe not throwing things, yet; he hadn't wiped out the forest.
"Ah.. S..sorry, Nyl.." He put the mug down and crossed his arms some. "It's just, the worrying, then the freak comment.." He sighed, his upper body slumping and hanging loosely. "I feel like an a**."

"Don't. Please. I didn't..." She stopped, because her voice had broken. She cleared her throat and started again. "I didn't connect those in my head. I should have. I'm sorry."

He blushed harder. "Nyl.." He stepped towards her and paused for a second. He was unsure what to say. This was a complete turn-around, and it caught him offguard. He smiled at her, face still red. "It's okay.. I took it the wrong way."

"Oh. Okay, then." Her eyes met Seph's for barely a second before they shifted to look out the window. "I think I'm going to go to bed. I didn't sleep much last night, and I'll be up early."

He met her eyes. "Alright, Nyl." Before he knew it, she was looking out the window. "Enjoy Durem enough for the both of us tommorrow." He smiled at her.

Nyl nodded, bowing to him respectfully. "Good night, Sephiroth." She headed back for her bedroom, not losing her conposure until the door was closed behind her.

Seph watched her go, "Good..night.." His head slumped as she stepped into her room. A new wave of emotion rolled over him as he poured the remainder of his cider into the sink, rinsed, and dried. He sat down at the table, pulling a pen from his pocket. The sketchbook that he kept under the kitchen table was laid out on the table, and he sketched away. Some of the rough sketches might have some significant value, but most were crumpled and tossed on the floor, with every intention of being burned away later that night.
It wouldn't happen though. Halfway through a picture, Seph had fallen asleep himself.

Nyl woke up before any of the rest of the dojo. She walked through the main room in silence - this place is almost eerie, this early in the morning - and out the front door, headed for Durem.
((Hopefully she'll be back by tonight! twisted ))
