Helix stiffened a bit. He pulled Lan closer to him instinctively.
"Al?! You okay?" Helix wasn't liking what was happening.
I always wind up hanging out with the 'different' people, don't I?

Helix sighed. "We got asked to stay for a bit, but judging just from what I've seen, I'm not sure that's a good idea." He made a face. "Yeah, I'm about ready to beat it. Let's go." He scooped up his bag, and started walking down the road towards the edge of town.
