Sunstrike

PostPosted: Mon Jul 23, 2007 1:41 pm

Sunstrike did wince and looked at Siat with one eye closed and the other obviously trying to puzzle it's way through that.

"Oh I dunno, most women have their good points." He had to chuckle. "Though...having a harem of them probably WOULD get a little tedious, I have to admit." Sun had never really thought about having more then one steady date, the idea somewhat boggled him.

"Where on earth would you put them all?"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 23, 2007 1:54 pm

"In a position where they can all see you, but can't see eachother."

He grinned again, stuffing his mouth once again and washing it down with a big gulp of his water. His fork rattled and screeched against his plate as he ate, fully aware that he wasn't the best at using a fork.

"Guys tend to be much better at being... I dunno, bearable comes to mind." He winked and leant over dangerously close. One might think he was going in for a kiss, but instead, he simply stole a strawberry, eating it with a flourish.

Sun blinked in confusion, opened his mouth to speak, and then closed it quickly. He felt a blush scrawl up through his cheeks and couldn't think of a good reply to what Siat was saying. Truthfully, Sun was a flirt, and he was a good bargaining chip for Henry. But something about hearing someone else say it all so candidly kind of reduced Sunstrike to an awkward, shy kind of person.

When Siat stole one of his strawberries he scowled. Curiosity would get the better of him, though. It always did.

"Bearable? How so?"

"A girl would never let me get away with stealing a strawberry, or buy me dinner, or anything I like."

Siat tucked another mouthful of spaghetti away, then began gathering the last remnants of it in a pile, ready to be shovelled in after he had spoken. Swallowing with a gulp and taking another hearty glug of what tasted like wine, wiping the little bit that dribbled out the side of his mouth on his sleeve.

"I just feel more comfortable around guys, I guess." He shrugged and finished his food, stretching his arm out and hovering it above the bowl of strawberries. "D'you mind?"

Sunstrike gave a long suffering sigh and waved him on, letting the strawberries get finished by the younger man. He put one elbow against the side of the chair and used it to prop his head up, taking another sip of his drink.

"Regardless of preference, have you been okay while I've been gone? I probably don't drop in as often as I should...I don't like just up and leaving you so frequently..." Sun made a face, it made himself sound like some kind of busy parent saying something like that, but he did feel kind of responsible for Siat's well being.

(Inside the hospital, astride Owle....)

There was no helping it... this girl was out of her mind. Literally, he suspected, considering that vacant stare. He tried his best to steer his zombie-charge in the right direction, but with not the slightest inkling of who this person they were looking for was, he was forced to tell himself that she knew the way to the right room...

... and that a young woman in a nightgown and jeans accompanied by a young man in a leather jumpsuit commonly seen on professional motorcycle riders was as common as two frogs in a pond.

Lovely.

Still, he stuck by Owle's side. He seemed to have the same chivalrous-to-a-fault spirit as Rage.

"'strike, I'm a big boy, I think I can manage on my own."

He smiled reassuringly and proceeded with eating the rest of the strawberries, frowning a little when his finger hit the bottom of the bowl.

"Besides, it's never been your responsibility to look after me, so don't worry." He leant over and brushed a finger over Sunstrike's nose affectionately, before flopping back into his seat and shifting it slightly, checking his backpack was still in place. "What now?"

(Slash, gerroff me! Um, I mean...

Inside the hospital)

With Slash's help, Owle's body managed not to bump into all too many walls. And in such a manner, Owle walking forward almost blindly, Slash trying to keep her from hurting herself, they would arrive at the room in which Maximos was reading, and where Rain was presumably also lying.

Then she would turn to Slash with a big, uncharacteristically unrestrained grin. "Thank you!"

To Maximos, she would also bestow that smile. "You're Mr. Maximos. You pet me."

Looking up at her, Maximos would experience an odd kind of double vision. Though in the physical world, she looked as she normally did (albeit a bit more disheveled), through the eye that saw the spirit world Maximos would see only hundreds of serpents, writhing in a shape that was roughly Owle's. The tail end of every serpent, including the one that had stayed by Maximos, seemed to lead straight to Rain.

(Just outside the room.)

One could almost see the oversized sweatdrop materialize over Slash's head - of course, that sort of thing was Owle's forte, even if Slash didn't know it at the time. It was the grin that threw him off, and hearing "you pet me" used in casual conversation didn't make him feel any better.

He was wondering if this is the part where he'd take his leave; truthfully he didn't want to. It was in part because he had an innate curiosity as to what was going on, but he could tell that he was closing in - and maybe Owle would lead him to where he needed to go.

It was certainly worth a shot, and so he stood outside, leaned up against the wall to avoid the nameplate digging into his shoulder with his arms across his chest.

Lost...to the world.

So enraptured Maximos had walked through active riots, sauntered across busy streets, waltzed past horrible monsters. But there was something about Owle that caught his interest. It was the way she greeted him, tossing out the formality on which Maximos built his social interaction and stopping just short of crossing any boundary into being offensive.

"You're Mr. Maximos. You pet me."

I wha--ow!

His eyes contact broke from the book quickly turning to Owle. Almost immediately his left hand came up and smacked his left eye, covering it with the butt of his palm. Did she always look like that?! His eyes were meant to work like 3D glasses both seeing a different image and combine the two into something new, using his minds perceptions to forge an image. Then produce an overlapped image, but one image does not actively counter the other. The image of Owle was one thing, the imagine of her as a group of constantly moving snakes was something entirely else. And it gave him a nasty headache, until he had a moment to get used it.

Hi Owle, you made it here fast!

He paused for a moment, his gently sliding from his face as he followed the connection between Owle and Rain.

If I may ask, what are you doing to Mr. Yupa?

Owle nodded, gesturing to the blue-haired man outside the door. "Slash took me. He helped a lot."

She glanced to Rain, smiling more gently at him. "He's alright," she said, palpable joy in her voice. If the doctor's and nurses allowed, she'd moved to his side, touching his hand in reverent awe. "And he's going to be alright."

Turning back to Maximos, she finally answered his question. "In there?" and she pointed to Rain. "The old man made me mad, and he threatened to take his baby. Rain's baby. After Rain was dead. So we're fighting the old man. But we're not angry any more, just we know what has to be done." She shrugged, and spun suddenly around the room, looking for a place to sit. The floor didn't seem right...

Ah ha! So thats who that was! He saw two souls walking up, but only "Owle" came in. If he could infact call her that, something about this woman different from the one he met during Heaven or Hell. He would have waved or gave the man a greeting of some sort but he was outside the room, so he decided to give him his space. A smile seeped across his face as the bouncy woman made her way over to Rain.

Indeed.

He responded in his usual warm friendly tone.

He's definitely a strong one. If not in form than in will. Not many mortals go up against a god and last as long as he did...or live to tell the tale.

Even though Rain should never have received half the beating he did. But he would save mention of that for later. At the very least, he would save it for when his head was no longer spinning. "Owle's" story was confusing at best. An old man? Children? A fight? Where? Even with his eyes he couldnt see anything beyond the churning delving into Rain. Perhaps that was related to the way she seemed to be wandering or searching about the room.

I see...

He said, scratching the back of his head with a quizzical look on his face.

...Rain is far more complicated than I gave him credit for...

"Now?" He thought about that, mind scrolling through all the things that probably needed attending to, and rubbing his nose free of strawberry.

"I have no clue. Truthfully? There are a lot of things that I want to do, a lot of things I can't do, and even more things that I have to do. I like checking in on you, I would have liked to check in on Tijae, but, well, I can't find her. I'm just making sure that everyone is alright but that's getting harder to do the less I stay at home."

He smiled and looked down at both hands flat on the table. "I'm glad you've been alright, Siat."

}I think we should put this on hold until Masimos ish free Ryugi-kun...{

Asherah's eyes strained to see what the scenery was about her, trying to see if there was a boat near by. Quickly adjusting to a smaller dock about one hundred yards away, alas, there was a boat.

"Feeling being a pirate today Ryugi?" She said with a sheepish smile.

With a sigh, she laced her fingers behind her head and tried to think some more, whilst keeping a thoughtful eye to the little one.

"Can't find her?" He furrowed his brow, puzzled. "D'you think anythings happened to her?"

Siat had no clue who this Tijae was, but if Sunstrike wanted to ensure her safety, she must've been someone relatively important to him. He ran a hand through his hair, displacing it somewhat, and scratched the back of his head idly.

"Well... what're you gonna do?"
