themightyjello I feel better about the whole thing if I just call them "battle mages". That's pretty much what they are. What makes them ninjas is that they're "special operatives" that serve a feudal lord using techniques different from samurai. And apparently, there are samurai in Naruto. They fight using power weapons. Edit: Well, I shouldnt say techniques different from samurai, since ninja were samurai. Rather, they just used special techniques. It's like special forces crap...except a wizard did it.

Fiend: Then do it! Just... do it properly, that's all. Nothing ever stopping you from creating a Canon character as your main. Just look at Vintrict!

Crossed: I have considered it many times. He is also already balanced for Gaia. Since he basically has only ever cut things with his knives and shot ash fire at people.
Both are balanced enough to fit in the world.
Its just....Yeah.
I don't even know. I may just make him.

I have to admit the biggest turnoff to playing a Naruto based character for me is the fact that I don't speak japanese at all.
So I can't keep up with all that no jutsu s**t that people come up with, naming all these gay techniques. Comparing normal western styled spells to Naruto themed abilities ( in that context ) makes the former appear half-hearted.

Can Griff extend his knives with energy to make them more deadly? If so then Griff is Asuma already.

Old Man KB I have to admit the biggest turnoff to playing a Naruto based character for me is the fact that I don't speak japanese at all. Draw up your D&D character sheet with KB being a vampire Ninja/Wizard. - Vampire powers PLUS - Stealth abilities PLUS - Sudden Strike damage PLUS - Ki abilities PLUS - Spells with verbal and somatic components... otherwise known as hand seals and shouted attack names. Naruto GET.

I'd encourage it, really. The only drawback is that if you were to try and get into story stuff, you' have to stick with pre-Sihppuden or early chapters.

The Fiend of the West Can Griff extend his knives with energy to make them more deadly? Not sure, but I do know this: - Knives - Beard - Cigarettes - Blowing smoke everywhere as a special move

The only downside to that is if my character isn't readily seen and having full dialogue with his targets then he isn't really a Naruto character, he's an actual ninja.

Fox: Yeah, that is the issue. That or I could come up with some crazy none sense of him getting magically transported to Gaia or something.
I don't even.
*Shrug*
It seems like a lot of work to set him up to fit in a world he doesn't belong, but I may try it at some point.
Being probably my favorite character in any series ever helps.

themightyjello Not sure, but I do know this: - Knives - Beard - Cigarettes - Blowing smoke everywhere as a special move Sounds close. Are they trench knives? Like brass knuckle hand guards? Asuma more blows ashes every where and then lights it on fire, but irrelevant. Pretty close. Griff = Asuma.

Considering the dub has them translating all of the attack names with the exception of the suffix "jutsu", it wouldn't really be that hard to follow. But I can understand how not being able to speak Japanese would make it hard. Maybe I'm a bit of a stickler, but oftentimes when I see Japanese styled characters with fake japanese in their names (i.e. english words pronounced in japanese or random assortments of chopped up japanese syllables), I feel a bit icky. ._.
