Van Evok Asmusei -Faceless Hunter- Caleidah Asmusei -Faceless Hunter- Heh. I'm still throwing shoulder pads onto the knees to make them look right. I'm not too sure about redesigning the Crisis, as many people have them and it would look odd to mix in the new ones into an army using suits already, just saying. The "redesign" will most likely only make small changes to the models themselves. It's to make them more poseable/mobile. Though, look at the Screamer-Killer Carnifex model to the current beast. Well, I guess, I just hope that they don't look so much of a rip-off of popular movies *cough*Alien*cough* What do you expect, for the GW to actually dont ripoff others ideas? from Aliens influenced Tyranids to Terminator influenced Necrons, popular culture was their feeding ground... Niche settings are there too, spot 10 similarities between Commorragh and Menzoberranzan... Pretty much, just pointing out that Warhammer 40K is known for having at least somewhat unique story and units, but it doesn't seem like they're keeping true to that of late.

I don't mind it myself, has some interesting points to the whole army. I find it even more amusing that they think that the new suits look better when they look even more like Gundams or other Japanese robots than they do now. xp

ok, Asmusei rant mode off... Tau seem to be likely candidates for overhaul soon. Seems right to me because they are supposedly fastest advancing tech race.

Van Evok Wrote: Asmusei -Faceless Hunter- Wrote: Van Evok Wrote: kroots are cheap, stick them in a forest or outflank for a surprise distraction and youre set... fire warriors as they are seem not very effective to me, basic s5 gun doesnt help much when you dont have any tankbusting weapons embedded in the squad, especially in the era of razorback and chimera parking lot armies I use Crisis Suits to fulfill that role, really no point in risking Suits by themselves if you can get them to keep up with Devilfish. Using the FoF V formation, you can Rapid Fire pretty damn well on Horde armies, jump Suits in front, fire off what they've got and then jump back behind the vehicles. Then you have Railheads sweeping in from the edges of the whole area and you can drop some pretty nasty sub-munitions into what's left.
one sweet thing about railheads is they dont have to be anywhere near the action to inlfluence it... eat submunitions meltagun squads! as for the crisis suits they are very fine platforms, but if someone is capable of outspeeding them (bikes or jump troops) there is a real crisis (yay for incredibly lame pun) icon_xd.gif Nice! But that's why i like them; they make awesome Heavy-Weapons teams with jump-jets to assist infantry. The Tau really need more vehicles, in truth; the Guard have proven that a great spread of them to choose from adds more flavor to the game, so it would only make sense for the other army that also uses a multi-role hull for vehicles. I absolutely love the sub-munition rounds, planning on getting a second Tank soon, actually, since I'm mainly just playing against my girlfriend who runs 'Nids.
pie-plates of doom really ruin small bugs day... multitude of guard vehicles seems to guarantee some will work really well, and to say the chimera is underpriced is understatement... for a well equipped devilfish youre paying twice the points of Chimera, ne?

I know the Tau aren't really the best for someone new, especially myself, but adjustments would be nice to afford a slightly better likelihood to take down, say, Marines?
