Please bring this back on topic. I'm going to talk to those involved on an individual basis and get it resolved in a proper manner, rather than with threats and insults.

so about them imperial guards
anyone here have given their armies themes? like how my army is from Hydraphur (fleet world), so I give them many lascannons and the sharpshooter doctrine
edit: it may not be the smartest idea to have a lot of lascannons, but for me, it's fun as hell, i don't play to win a lot.
On a side note, it's funny as hell when I fight against a smaller numbered force, or tank heavy army, and seeing the guy go like "F**k"

Reminds me of an Apocolypse mega-battle I played recently, where the other Guard player had like 24 lascannons.
Myself, I have two general themes, I suppose seperate armies. As soon as I get Imperial Armour 5/6 I'll make myself a Death Korps army proper, but untill then I suppose I'll just sorta play make believe.
The other army is suppose to be a high-tech one, using Carapace and lots of special equipment and vehicles, such as a Valkryie. Well, I suppose (if I ever get around to developing it further) that they'd have Storm Troopers and Light Infantry, and try to get everything in the army to either Infiltrate or Deep Strike.

I'm mostly waiting for the new Codex coming out next year, so my Cadians are on the shelf for the most part. Instead I'm sticking to my Elysians for now, their elite and specialized formation make them a challenge to field.

I find it's very hard to make Imperial Guard better through Doctrines without making them too expensive to be efficient.

for my army i took die-hards, iron discipline, jungle fighters, light infantry, and veterans. The background is that after a really big war on some planet, what remained of several different regiments were mashed into a single full strength regiment. Right now i have some Vostroyans, Cadians, and Catachans. I am looking to get some Tallarn, Mordians, Elysians w/out jump packs, ect.

My general theme is a high-tech army what Only uses Las Based weaponry, and no ground vehicles (they think of them as backward and barbaric)
I'm waiting now for the new Codex i heard Doctrines are being drop...

Doctrines are not there to make things better, they just give you an edge of sorts but above all, bring flavour.
And Elysians do not have jump packs, those are grav chutes, not the same thing.

I was watching a apocalypse battle of Imps vs Tyranids. It was a bloody phailure for the Nids. The Imperial guard player had no tanks, just your normal infantry platoon(And your command squad, fast attack, Karskin.) But every squad that could take heavy weapons took Heavy Bolters, 64" of Heavy Bolters.... Total massacre. About 90% of the Nid army was dead on the first turn, it was the heavy bolters and lots of lucky rolls from the guard player that did it. At the end of the second turn, the Hive Tyrant was left standing with one wound, and a carnifex on two wounds. Take a guess what happened. So, it goes to show the power of Imperial Gun lines some times, amazing.

Great Emperor, this one's been possessed by Stalin! Call the Inquisition!
In all seriousness, though, that battle would have just been absolutely fun to watch. Lots and lots and lots of dead bugs.

So, it goes to show the power of Imperial Gun lines some times, amazing. If I play my mechanized IG I have 41 Hvy Bolters so 123 shots a turn if I have units in range. Throw in some motors for pinning....few Earth Shakers, some las cannons. It's a bad time down range twisted
