Pegasus glanced at his watch. "Four in the afternoon." He said, then started to go over to the door. "By the way, Khalid was released from the hospital, although they said that I'll have to keep an eye on him. He just needs lots of rest, the doctors say, so you don't need to worry."

"His room from before. Why? Do you want to see him?" Pegasus obviously hadn't heard of Khalid's new story. "Ishizu went in to see him just a little while ago, though. You might want to leave those two alone for a little bit... She looked angry. There could be a fight, though I hope it doesn't get physical."

The look on Pegasus's face darkened. "So has he been lying to me? I knew it... Something just wasn't right. He was odd..."

"Its a long story but yes he has been lying to all of us" she stood up and turned the radio off "weres his room?"

"I'll lead you there." Pegasus left the room and started going down the hallway.
Khalid had managed to convince Bakura to kill the physical body, and then the wounds stitched themselves together after that. He would have healed slowly as a mortal otherwise, but with the body dead, it quickly restored itself to near-perfect health. The same couldn't be said for Khalid's mental state, however, which was and had always been far from healthy.

"What's the matter?" Khalid whispered in Ishizu's ear, smirking. He was glad that he no longer had to pretend that he cared. He had her in a choking hold, her back pressed against his chest, his arm around her neck. "Before you liked to be close to me. Did the truth really change all that?"
Pegasus opened the door, his eyes widening when he saw the guard he had ordered to watch Khalid pinned to the wall with what looked like a long spear through his middle. Khalid was also choking Ishizu, who was clawing at his arm, though that didn't seem to affect him.

Kira quickly ran in and pried ishizu from khalid's hold before she kicked khalid back.She then turned to ishizu "Are you ok?"

Ishizu put her hands to her throat and was coughing, her eyes watering, but nodded. "Thanks..." She whispered hoarsly, wondering if Khalid would have killed her had Kira not shown up at that moment.
Khalid was silent as he took a few steps backwards. He laughed at Kira's attempt. "What makes you think that that will do anything? Now I can completly shut of my nervous system. Sure, I can't feel if I'm holding something anymore, but I won't feel pain either."

Khalid arched an eyebrow, making a 'tsk tsk' sound before finding a chair and sitting down. His expression was one of utter boredom, and he yawned hugely.

Kira looked to ishizu "you should go get a drink." she told her conserned.

(Just realized something. While I had been planning to have Khalid do something evil when Ryou died just earlier, maybe a little before, my subconscious must've been planning it before. Look at one of the posts I made when Ryou had just died for the first time: Quote: Yugi hung back; he wanted dearly to go towards the couch, apologize, say good-bye (though it was a little too late), anything, but the fear of his friend being dead was griopping him. He felt cold; this couldn't be happening. What would the others say? Would the kids from school even care? Brushing aside those thoughts, Yugi swept the back of his hand across his cheek, wiping away his tears, letting out a choked sob.
Atem suddenly found that he had little strength. His head spun, and was feeling light. Turning towards Yugi, he remembered that his hikari was wearing the Millennium Puzzle, which had happened automatically during the game. His body dissolved in the air as he sent his spirit to the puzzle, doing this all silently. The soul card fluttered to the floor, which was quickly snatched up by Khalid.
Khalid seemed the only one not crying. Looking around the room coldly, he tucked the card into his own pocket. The trip to the Shadow Realm seemed to have healed him a little; it looked as though he had more life than before. See that? Khalid didn't cry. Not at all. He even said something like 'What a waste of a life' when Ryou had died))
