Actually, the answer was 21. You write out that gibberish in plain english and count the letters, and there are 21 letters. My friend made a whole bunch of these guess the number riddles on a web page I've long loss the address to.

Its power is so great that it scared off more than half the people in this guild!

The extremely short version of the post is:
-Luna and her mom (Raine) were minding their business...
-Shibusen students (4, 2 pairs) come hunting for Raine
-Luna (who's 8 at the time) hides and watches the fight.
-Raine had hunted and slaughtered shibusen students in the past, but started to despise the violence which is why she secluded herself
-Raine could easily kill the shibusen students, but tries to get them to flee so she doesn't have to kill them
-They take advantage of her generosity and get lucky, mortally wound her
-As they're about to kill her, they find Luna and figure each team can get a soul
-With last of strength, Luna's mom kills them to save Luna then dies
-Luna = sad
Technically, one of the students survived, she was just frozen solid, so she thawed later and left, since her partner was gone. She's a weapon named Spiral who is a drill. I was thinking of asking to NPC her later or something.
