"I know, man, I know," Anatoly replied, struggling to keep himself under control.
Can't show weakness, have to hold us together... have to be strong for them.
"But we're going to beat them. We can. Nobody's invincible. Not even them. We're going to find out their secrets." He paused; his face grew dark. "We're going to take revenge. They've... killed so many of us. We got ripped from our lives and brought into this shitstorm of Blazer-ness and fighting. In a matter of days, we stopped being people and started being weapons. Tools. But it wasn't even for the causes we believed in. We've been manipulated from the start. Every moment of every day since we joined, we've been their little Blazer puppets on their little Blazer strings. Well, ******** them. ******** them all, we're going to show them what weapons can do. We're going to take revenge on them for doing this to us."
He sighed. "First, though, we're going to need to rest."

Sarah listened silently to what the guys were saying. Since she was driving, she couldn't really see their expressions. However, she heard the pain in their voices. She sympathized with them. "You guys need rest? I can drive you to my place. It's not too far and we have enough room." Ish. "If it's worth anything, I think you guys are awesome for having lasted this long. To be taken out of your element and forced into something else..." she tightened her hands on the wheel, "is a hard thing to go through. At least let me help where I can, 'kay?"
Still she couldn't see their expressions, but she hoped they believed her. She owed it to them for saving her stupid a**.

Blaine looked at Anatoly. His eyes were tired.
"I just want out of this...but...they've killed so many, like you said. I...I can't just walk away from that, no matter how much I try to convince myself that I can...it just goes against everything that's me... I want to, but I can't, it's not right." Blaine's eyes began to tear up, but he quickly wiped them away, " We're stuck through this until it's over, now, huh?"
He looked down again and sighed, "At least we'll have our chance to get back at those assholes." he laughed to reassure himself.
He noticed his condition for the first time, "Damn...I need a shower...like right now. Then sleep."

"You shouldn't get more involved in this..." Anatoly began, looking at Sarah. He laughed, a harsh, bitter laugh. He sounded more like a war veteran than someone who'd been a schoolteacher two months ago. "No, they've seen you, like they've seen us. They know you. They can find you. There's no getting out now, I suppose." He frowned. "The question is whether your house is still safe. I imagine it would be; we should only stop by long enough to gather your important things, though. I imagine mine are still safe in my deposit box... But for now, let's raid your house for whatever you need, then hit a motel, if we have the cash. We're fugitives now."

Sarah tightened her grip. "Right. Well, we've got canned soup and a bunch of food we can take. And I've got a bit of cash...." She looked in the rear view mirror to see Anatoly. "Don't worry about paying a motel. I know a guy who owes me for helping him out with a problem. I don't suppose they're gonna know who I help out, will they?" She was referring to the Roses.
They were finally at her house. "'Kay. My old man knows I'm going to college soon, so he'll think I'm at the dorms or something. Look, go get whatever you need from the house. Doesn't matter what. If you make it look like a robbery, the better. It's not the first time it's happened," she muttered darkly. She got inside the house and immediately went to her room. She got her knapsack and filled with a spare shirt, socks, and undergarments. She picked up a picture frame and put it in the bag. It was a picture of her dad and herself. "Hope to see you again, dad..."
She went back downstairs to see if the guys needed any help with stuff.

Blaine slowly got out of the car after everyone else and half-walked half-limped into the house. He simply looked around, watching as Anatoly took whatever he needed. Blaine didn't really need much, he never did need much. But he did need to get clean, he was getting increasingly uncomfortable.
"Do you think there's time for me to take a quick shower?" he asked.

Anatoly was wheeling soup out on an ice cart. "Sure nobody's gonna need this? It'd be kind of messed up if someone needed it..."
It'd be kind of messed up if you nearly killed a little girl. Really, pretending at leadership after that incident just because nobody here knows? What a joke! What a laugh! Look at yourself! You're a joke! Ooh, you figured out that the Indigo Rose operatives can activate each others' stickers. So what? That was useless. How about the guy raising shields that you all left behind? What about him?
He tripped on the doorframe and sprawled on the ground. He muttered a curse and rose to his feet, instinctively feeling for the Letter Opener of Doom in his pocket. That turned out to be a bad idea - it merely made him think of the eye and his father and....
No. No. Have to act strong. You can cry to yourself all you want when the others won't see it.
He continued pushing the cart, his face looking like it had been carved from stone.

Sarah studied Anatoly's face. "Mmkay, dude with the limp, go take a shower. I'm sure it'll be fine." She wasn't really looking at Blaine, but more worried over Anatoly's sanity.
She walked over to him and put her hand on his shoulder. "s**t, man. Uhh, I dunno how to do these talk things, but you look like you could use it." She wasn't sure how these things were supposed to go. "Look. You got us out of a bad situation. Alive. So don't be a dumb a** and attempt to take all the blame." She scratched the back of her head and looked to the side. "And uhh. Yeah...if you ever need to talk. Or something. Fight maybe. But yeah. Talking...I'll listen."
She turned to look at the soup. "Don't worry about the soup and stuff. S'alright to take."

Anatoly's expression remained in its frozen form. "It's not that. It's just... I'd rather not talk about it now. I... it's something I'm ashamed of, s'all I'll say. I..." His voice dropped to a whisper. "I shouldn't be acting like some great leader. I'm not fit too. But somebody who... who's been a part of this from the start... has to pull us together. Otherwise, who will? Nathan - no-feet-man - is out cold. Blaine is a good guy but lacks initiative, to be honest. Kitt... Well, yeah." The imagine of Kitt, bloody and bruised by his hands and ice, flashed through his mind. "Yeah..." His face faltered for a moment - something changed in his expression for a mere millisecond, but it had been there.

Blaine took off towards where he figured the bathroom was. "Thank you." he said, his voice still shakey, "My name's Blaine, by the way."
Before long, Blaine found the bathromm and rushed in, desperate to get clean. Damn dirtiness! Blaine stripped down, folded his clothes, and took a moment to look at himself in the mirror. His pink eyes were the only familiar sight. He seemed so different, so changed Blaine thought. it's just the dirt. he told himself, I'm still the same ol' Blaine...right? With a sigh, Blaine pulled himself from the mirror and into the shower. He started the water and tested the temperature three times. Once satisfied, he stepped in and let the warm water was the filth from his body.
Blaine closed his eyes, enjoying the cleansing properties of water. He did so for a good three minutes before he began to scrub his hair and body clean.
He was finally satisfied and about to step out when he noticed red water running down his legs. Blood? No! Not blood! Dammit! Damn it all! Blaine had discover shallow cuts on His legs, including an unnervingly deep gash on his right calf.
His lip began to quiver, "********." he swore quietly, "******** began to scrub the cuts fiercely with soap and water, swearing increasingly loudly.

Sarah nodded at Anatoly's words. "You don't wanna be a great leader? Fine. You're not a great leader. But listen to me," she forced him to look at her. "LISTEN. You are a good leader. You stood up to the plate when no one else would. You've got some balls to do that." She looked at the kitchen closet. "Should be some more food there. Hell if I know, the old man barely takes care of what he eats."
She heard Blaine swear from the bathroom. Her house had pretty thin walls. "I'm sure you need a couple a minutes to yourself. So I'll go check on what's-his-name." She left Anatoly and headed towards the bathroom. "Dude! Blaine right? You okay, man?" When he didn't answer, she continued, "Hey! You hear me? If you don't answer within the next 30 seconds, I'm gonna break down the door and pull your a** out of the water."

s**t! Now he had two things to worry about! He didn't want to be seen naked! Blaine couldn't find the will to speak cohesively, so he did the first thing he could think of. He stumbled out of the shower and grabbed a towel he began to half-dry half-scrub his lower body. Once he was dry enough, he grabbed his boxers and pulled them on as quickly as he could manage. He then realized how torn, bloody, and dirty his jeans were. That would have to wait. For now, all Blaine could do was sit on the floor as he tried desperately to rub the blood, or rather, the injuries altogether, away.

Yep. He didn't answer. So Sarah kicked the door down. "...I'mma guessing you want different clothes." She rubbed her forehead. "Come with me," she half dragged him to her room. "I'm sure I got an extra pair of jeans...I'm sure they're gonna fit you. I've had the ones I'm wearing for 5 years, so the other should fit you just fine. Oh! I've been looking for this shirt!" She threw the clothes at him. "Wear 'em. They're not covered in s**t."
He should have noticed that they were guy pants and a huge shirt that didn't look like it'd be worn by a girl. "What? S'not like I could spend much money on clothes that were gonna be worn out within a year. These'll last a good long while," she ended proudly. She started to walk out to let him change. "Get your a** down once you're finished. 'Kay? I don't wanna have to chase you down. Ya hear?"
She didn't really mean to, but she started to really care for these guys. "...s**t." They could be like the brothers she never had. Better see if they'll actually let me tag along or just dump me somewhere before I start to worry over 'em.

"I want to be. But I don't deserve to be," Anatoly muttered, beginning to unload his cart into the car. He looked forward and saw Kitt, still in the back. "Hey, Kitt... how're you holding up?" he asked, a little nervously.

She didn't reply, her gaze fixed in the direction of the warehouse. Anatoly realized that Wilde, Rufus, and Farley were probably the only family she had ever had. Ever.
