x-InsigNia-x Van Evok Lt. Brookman Beep-beep. That model is the White Dwarf. IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!Boop. Confirmed Tau plastics coming next year: Vespid and Pathfinders. There is talk of the Suits getting a redesign, either with better limbs or a complete overhaul to make them curvier. Brap. so all-plastic armies drive contiues I'd love to see dual-purpose xv-8/88 and FW/pathfiners box the way they did GK I hope they can have new heads, even though they can be easily converted with target lock on it or a multi-tracker. biggrin Heh, Disco Balls. xd

Lady Blodwynn The plastic drive will go on and wont stop any time soon now. More and more metal units and blisters are being retired to Direct Only every few months. I don't mind, especially for the larger models. My Penitent Engines were a real pain, and I did things that would make most hobbyists, including myself, blush in shame. Same with my Shokk Attack Gun-equipped Big Mek. The plastics are easier to put together for the lesser-skilled hobbyists like myself. ^^ For characters the size of infantry I could go either way on. Plastic kits for the ones with a ton of options like the Tau XV-8 Commander, metal for the ones without a lot of options like Commander Shadowsun. ^^

The main reason they are doing more plastic kits these days is because they have the capital and technology to do it. Back then they had to weigh the options carefully and take certain risks, hence metal Grey Knights back then, which were more of a niche army.
Thankfully, hybrid kits will also go the way of the dodo, so no worries there. I am curious though as to how they will tackle Farsight, who is currently a hybrid. Either they'll make him full plastic, which is a first for special characters, or a full resin, which is GW's current plan for metal blisters.

XV-88's will become full plastic kits, I think we can count on that. I've got a good feeling that O'Shovah will be a resin character kit. I do hope that when they redesign the Crisis Suits they do something about the weak ankles. While a nice idea for suits in flight, it makes for an unstable model when walking or standing.

Heh. I'm still throwing shoulder pads onto the knees to make them look right. I'm not too sure about redesigning the Crisis, as many people have them and it would look odd to mix in the new ones into an army using suits already, just saying.

The "redesign" will most likely only make small changes to the models themselves. It's to make them more poseable/mobile. Though, look at the Screamer-Killer Carnifex model to the current beast.

remember, Tau are supposed to put new models of equipement more often than anyone else... so newer suits fighting alongside older models would be commonplace

Niche settings are there too, spot 10 similarities between Commorragh and Menzoberranzan...

This topic of discussion has gone off topic, though I would like to say that regarding the matter of Games Workshop having nothing original, if you look around in movies, books, games etc nothing is new. Most of it has been done already and nothing is original. Its one of those things, so why bother complaining about it?
Anyway, back on to Tau, do drones count as the maximum amount of models that can fit in a Devilfish?
