((If we could open portals wherever we wanted, it would be too easy. Open a portal above someone and drop rocks through to assassinate, open a portal below anything to steal it, have someone track you with one to make a quick escape from anywhere... The way they're used earlier in the game, portals can only be opened in certain places. Everyone uses a portal to get as close as possible to the destination, and then they go last few miles the normal way. That's why we're using planes and cars - going the last few miles. @Requiem: Go ahead. I don't think anyone near the four of us is in a time-sensitive moment. Except us.))

Larry was still suffering a few ill effects of all the sweet, delicious booze he slammed down before. But it seemed that he just didn't know how much. During their exhilerating romp through the woods, Larry's skin appeared to have gone from it's normal slightly tanned color to being almost liquid white. His blood still pumped normally and he didn't feel faint or anything, the effects must have been the result of one of the villager's curses or maybe of the beer itself.
And for the moment, at least, he was unaware of this. "Hey!" he said to the buggy rider sounding offended "Who are you calling ******** up? And where the ******** DID you come from, you psicopatico son-of-a-b***h? Tell me, kid, what is it about me that would make him say something like that? Cause I am at a loss."
Absentmindedly, Larry let one of his vampire-looking arms touch Korie on the shoulder as he said this.
((@Frogtuar, Baltazaar and KawaiiNekoYoukai: Don't worry, I'm not actually an undead blood-sucker. This particular curse is meant as a sort of tracking device for the villagers, so they can see Larry easier in the dark. It'll disappear once we find our way to the portal and the villagers abandon the hunt. Also, I should say that this mission has taken an awkward turn. Instead of it being a mission for two, now there's three of us. I say we should have the new guy take us to the book store and then be on our way.))

"Hey there, esse. I am just a peacefull little alien from the planet mishaps. See my antennas?" He placed his hands over his ears, and made some packman noises. After a while, he grinned and stopped. "Oh my, aren't you a pequenjo mambise? Well, to get things over with, so i can get into the normal realms of ******** up, and take the hyperdrive to reallllly ******** up, I am a mishaps soldier. I picked up a distress call after I had refuelled my buzz-medicine, and then I drove the buggy in here to pick you up. " He grinned, and started walking around them. "Oh yes, let's see. first of all, we left quite a track. Tearing up the woods like that even a blind cripple could follow us. So, basically what I have bought you is time. Now, let's see our next options...." He took a bottle of ritalin out of his suit, took one pill out, gobbled the rest down, and then snorted the pill. "I say, what an exuisitly nice buzz. So, three problems popp into my mind. First, why is an esse running around looking like an albino polka player on coke? Two, we have a town running after us? Three, what is the objective in this mission? So, using all my little blue friends here, I say, let's smear this cracker with mud till he has a proper color, because I would not want him being an easy target if the folks in town have weapons, get you guys in the car, wreak the town in pursuit of the mission objective, race down towards the portal, get you through, and then find out why you bugger have pupils larger then by thumb. Of course, if you happen to know what you took, I have nothing against enlarging my drug collection. So, what do you say, guys? I even brought some party favors in case we wanna stomp the town, and I am willing to let you help share them. " He looked hopefully at the others, his shaved head glistening with sweat and anxiety.

((Anyone ready for a return of an old, probably little known character? razz ))
Near the Mishaps HQ, a figure flying towards the place slowly became visible. It became obvious that this figure was a dragon; a European style, but a little more sleek. Instead of the potbellied, giraffe-necked stereotype, this creature actually looked a bit more like a winged lizard, but it still had the almost beak-like snout and serpentine-like neck. A deep forest green in color, except for it's underbelly; the scales there were more of a blackish-blue. The dragon flew closer and closer, and eventually landed right before the front doors. With the building and such now available for height comparison, it was easy to see that the dragon was roughly only as tall as an average human male; appearing only just under six feet from the head to the ground. It's claws were white, and it's eyes were a blood red. With a grinding of magic, the dragon transformed into a young girl, about twelve in appearance. Her hair was the same color of green as her scales, except for a few inches near the roots, which were the color of the scales on the dragon's underbelly. Looking up at the doors, it was obvious that her eyes hadn't changed color at all; they stayed the same blood red that they had been before the transformation.
With a sigh, the young girl pushed open a small door, disguised to be a part of the large set of double-doors that were the entrance to Mishaps Mercenaries. While she might not be a captain, she still had a mission report to deliver...
((I made a couple of changes to the design, but I don't think I got very specific when I was first here, so no one other than Xinrie should really notice (and then probably not right away). xp ))

Korie coughed, mostly at Larry's language and sudden idiocy and dug in the first aid pack first. She reached for a cold pack first and slapped it onto Larry's forehead, putting one of his own hands there to hold it. Then she took some gauze and bandages and began to treat the wounds on her hands. At the moment, she felt so neutral about everything that it was scary. She listened with seemingly mild interest as the drug addict muttered insanely.
Korie glanced up after a slight wince from the antibiotics smeared onto her hands. "Larry here's running around like a madman because he's drugged, apparently, the town's running after us to annihilate us for an unknown reason, and we are supposed to retrieve a rare book from a blackmarket dealer for a guy living in Mt. Everest, I believe," she said matter-of-factly.
Then she added, "Oh, and my name's Korie, codename Locke." Taking one last glance at his happy-mad stare and shaking her head, she went back to wrapping a bandage around her left hand. It was scary how she was so calm about this. But inside, she felt like her head could explode at a moment's notice. What the hell had they gotten themselves into?

Spider sighed. It was more then useless. "Kay, guys. Looks like we have quite a problem here.... Ok, but luckily, we have quite a good situation going. I being a professional drug fiend have all the power we need to....." He looked at the girl. "Locke, you have a bit of a lesser problem. Right now, you aree under shock and prolly swelling. Wash your hands, and bandage them tightly. If you don't, it might be that you will not be able to use a gun because of pain and/or swelling. Don't take it the wrong way, but better use the whole bandages up, because We have no recoil-free weapons. " He wheezed a few times, and tried to get himself topgether. It was going too well, too perfect..... "Okay, now to the esse. I believe the fact that you are under no drug and he is rules out a gas or a multi-vector. Which leaves us only with an injected or an imbibed drug. Let's throw in a few grams of that magic stuff, so we have a problem. If we have an imbibed vector, the best treatment would be throwing up as much as possible, for which I would reccomend rattlesnake antidote. I think about 50 cc of the liquid directly swallowed will give you pretty much projectile vomiting, and after that it should get better. Injected drug on the other hand..... we would have to undress you, esse, and search your entire body, if you do not remember anything. So, leaves us two options. one, you swallow and throw up, I would even let you in the copilot seat if needed, and we go. Two, if we have you under the effect of an unknown drug, I would very much like you to know that I will sedate you the minute you start acting funny, abort the mission, and then return to base. " He breathed multiple times, swallowed a few more little blue pills, and grinned. "As for the battle plan, I would say we ride into town, thrash the place, give the villagers a stomping, rape pillage and plunder, and have loads of adult fun. Esse and myself do the trashing, and keep the villagers away. You, miss locke, make a run for the book dealer, grab the manual, and we will head the ******** out. If anything goes wrong, I will get the ******** out, and run with the portal, only to return with as much firepower as possible. " He stretched his neck, and grinned. "So, any better ideas? Just tell me what you think..." He leaned back, and enjoyed the cool breze. It was wonderfull....

((For anyone involved with my RP at the moment, we're jumping ahead by four hours. This includes the Uroboros.)) LOCATION: Himalaya Mountains, Nepal four hours later Riku sat back in the Osprey, fiddling with his katars. Angra was having minorcalibration issues whenever the chain fired, so he continued tinkering with it's launch mechanism. It wasn't so much to actually fix it- it would still fire in a relatively "straight" line- as it was to ease his own tension. He knew that once he stepped into that temple, his power would almost immediately drop significantly. He would still have access to his elemental abilities, and of course he still had superhuman strength and speed, but without his Chaos to boost his strength, he would be severely weakened. And he would only get weaker the closer he got to the blade. Add on top of that the fact that the Uroboros were certainly on their way, and his odds of returning alive dropped significantly. He snapped the cover of the mechanism back into place, and placed the Angel back into it's sheath. He leaned back and stared out the window. Towering into the clouds in the distance, he could see Mount Everest, the summit of the world. They would be arriving at the temple within the hour. He would have to worry about the problems he would face when they got there.

Larry was in awe at how much of a drug fiend Spider was. It seemed like every time he inhaled through his nose to catch a breath from his constant ranting, he was snorting K just for convenience. "And I thought I got away from guys like you when I refused a Catholic School education!" Larry grumbled "As far as the plan goes, I ain't got one. While I'm at it, my name is Larry. My codename is Freebird. And I ain't no 'ese, do I look like I live in East LA?"
"Besides, what is there that needs to be fixed? I ain't drugged, I feel fine." Larry continued, more in Korie's direction this time "With the exception of not being able to remember a certain tiny portion of my life. Big deal. I get those all the time when I wake up after a long night of drinking."
((OOC: @Baltazaar: Now you've made things kinda interesting. I think it'd be funny if you grabbed me by the mouth and forced the rattlesnake antidote down my throat.))

((I just realized I forgot to mention she has a duffel bag with her. D: Oh well, I'll just write about it now.))
The twelve-year-old-looking girl made her way straight to the commander's office, knowing exactly where to go. People had said before that this building was like a labyrinth, but she disagreed; a labyrinth was designed to confuse everyone. Mishaps was designed to confuse only those that would seek to harm the building or it's occupants (and the occasional new recruit). She was glad that she still knew the way, however brief a time she spent here all those months ago. Coming up to the doors, the girl stopped and adjusted the duffel bag on her shoulder before knocking politely. She wasn't sure if she would be recognized, so rudeness would definitely be a no, now. Actually, she was never really rude ever, but this was one of the times where pleasantries were crucial.

"kayyyy...." He stopped for a minute, since his pills where low, and grabbed an other bottle. "See, Freebird, great choice by the way, allways loved the song. " He laughed nervously, and popped the lid of the new bottle, and inserted the first pill in his nose. "So, basic knowledge, if you take drugs, you get symptons that drive you away from the zero-point of the sanity in all of the seventy-two planes of the finite universe. So, if you know what the drugs do, you can counteract. if you take extacy, you can smoke a big blunt afterwards, and all is fine back to zero. Now, memory loss, your skin condition and your bigass pupils do not come from nowhere. But, since I am the drugfiend here, I have no moral background against being on drugs. " Poking in his nose, he licked his lips. The stuff seemed to be working. "So, basically, I had been able to figure out some additional stuff to the effects of drugs on my system. So, this stuff has no actual known effects besides memory loss, so please, ....." He opened a bag in his bagpack, and removed a hypodermic needle. Still grinning, he turned around to Freebird, and in one swift motion, poked him with it. It only took a few milliseconds, but that was enough. "Don't flip out, but this is just a measure to reproduce the drug in later stages. So, Buckle up, get some weapons out of the bagpack, and get on the buggy. Due to my calculation, any second now the villagers might come running across the hill. " He turned around, and walked as quickly as possible away from the both of them. he grinned, and tucked the needle into his suit. It was safe now, and he could study the drug later.

heart You found my heart and rebuilt it from dust... heart Outai held Mooney in her arms, who was fast asleep. The bumpy jeep ride had done him in a bit, but he seemed more at ease now that he was in the air. It was something he was used to since he'd spent time flying with Outai. "Mooney, awaken. We are nearly to the destination." Outai said gently, appearing calm, but giddy as a school girl inside. She loved cold weather, and more than that she loved snow and ice. "Aw, come on, five more minutes...." Mooney grumbled. "No, you must awaken now." "Aw, okay, spoil sport..." heart ...and now let me return the favor for you. heart

Not a word escaped Korie's lips as she grew more and more disturbed by the actions of their new companion. All those pills, and he hadn't succumbed to any sort of chemical poisoning yet. It was amazing how sturdy men could be these days. She blew a little on her hands, only barely listening to the rapid gibberish spilling out of his mouth. His instruction wasn't even needed for her to completely strip the roll of it's white cloth; her hands were so busted up that it had to be used anyway. After a bit of muttering on her part, she reluctantly had to take off her gloves to wrap them around her whole hands.
Korie flexed her fingers; they felt really cramped in the limited space they had. Her hands looked bulky with white cloth. "That teaches me to wear gloves that cover the palms and fingers..." she grumbled to herself. Her dexterity was now severely cut, and she felt significantly handicapped. It made her uncomfortable.
Then with a sigh, she quickly put all the first aid items away and threw them into the back of the buggy. "You're insane," she said bluntly, and it was obvious to who it was directed to. And she placed a hand on the side of the buggy, waiting tensely for them both to get up so that they could hurry and get their butts outta there.
